- Hello guys and welcome!
On June 15, I flew Volaris Y4 5972 from Guadalajara, Mexico to Chicago/O’Hare. Watch this trip report to find out what it’s like flying from Mexico to the US during COVID-19
Let me know what you guys think about my first trip report or if you have any suggestions/concerns/questions about flying or anything airline-related. Hope you enjoy & please stay safe!

Me refiero cancun-houston.
Muchas gracias!

Thanks for making this video. I was wondering what flying during covid with Volaris was like right now. Yeah, it kind of sucks they charge for carry-ons now, but I think they don't bother to check.
Albert Kuan Glad you enjoyed it! Volaris is a low-cost airline so they charge you for everything but yeah, you can bring 1 or 2 small backpacks without cost
Can you recline the seat? I heard volaris doesn’t do that
Yes! You can still recline the seats on most Volaris planes. At 6:07 and 6:17 in the video you can see the person in front of me had their seat reclined almost for the whole flight. Some of their newer A320neo planes are the ones that might not have reclinable seats any more.
Hola, excelente video, me encanto.
Espero me puedas ayudar, muchas gracias
why do mexican airlines use airbus
cesar cruz The Airbus A320 performs slightly better in Mexico, given how high some of the airports are in the country (for example Mexico City’s airport is around 7,000 ft. above sea level!)
But also, Volaris, Interjet, and Viva probably all received a better deal from Airbus instead of Boeing, so they purchased A320s for cheaper.
Not all Mexican airlines use Airbus planes though, Aeromexico is all-Boeing, Interjet operates some Sukhoi Superjets and Aeromar uses ATRs.
Hope that helped!
@@tony.airlines so they get better deals from airbus
cesar cruz For the most part yes, and also Interjet bought a bunch of cheap Airbus A320’s from Mexicana after they went bankrupt in 2010
Does a bus go direct from us to Mexico ?
George Pena There are several companies that have bus services between USA and Mexico ... here is a website - www.checkmybus.com.mx
They should really block off the middle seat.
Lily Sanchez I agree with you !! Most Volaris flights are flying almost completely full these days.
can i take your own food from the airport on the plane ?
Yes you can! A lot of people do to avoid buying expensive foods at the airport
The only thing you can’t bring is drinks and liquids
@@tony.airlines what about a starbucks from thr airport ? i see people with starbucks on the plane
@@aislinn3951 Yes I’m pretty sure that’s allowed on most airlines
They have a Starbucks on the upper level after passing the security checkpoint
I have a question I’m going to Cancun through volaris how many luggage’s or backpacks can you take without getting charged? Or what are you allowed to take in the plane
Vanessa Arroyo It depends on a couple of things.
Which type of ticket did you buy? A “basic” ticket currently includes just 1 backpack and a “classic” ticket includes 1 carry-on and 1 checked bag
It also depends on when you bought your ticket, if you purchased before February 2020, you were allowed 2 backpacks, but now it is only 1 backpack
Otherwise, you will be charged for backpacks, carry-ons and checked bags. It’s a lot cheaper to pay for them online than being charged at the airport - it’s more expensive in the airport.
Hi, excellent video.
I have a question. Do you know, if I can fly from Mexico to United States with tourist visa?
Thank you very much!
It’s possible to fly to the USA with a visa.
A majority of the passengers on our flight were Mexican citizens with American tourist visas.
Hope that helped and thank you for watching!
What is the cost from Guadalajara airport to downtown
There is a bus service from Guadalajara to downtown, but the cheapest option in my opinion would be an Uber, which costs around 86 pesos, or $5 US Dollars

What’s the app callled when u got there
The Volaris app is where we got our boarding pass. Most airlines have their own apps too.
Hola..
@@tony.airlines Gracias..... Saludos
Hey, It’s going to be my first time flying and i was wondering if a Real ID was enough to be able to fly with volaris ?
Are you flying internationally or domestic?
@@tony.airlines from mexicali to ciudad obregon
@@nathalyzambrano3202 It probably will be alright, considering it is an official form of photo ID
However, I would take my passport too just in case, to be safe
Here is a link with the required documents to fly domestically on Volaris:

@@tony.airlines ok, thank you so much 😊
Is it true all forms have to be filled out through your phone?
You can if you’d like
But they also provide you with paper forms at the airport !
@@tony.airlines Oh okay thanks! I was told it was mandatory to fill out through your phone but I'm glad it's not!
@@saraiemunoz2912 Yeah no problem ! They should have some paper copies for you once you arrive at the airport
