Thank you ! I appreciate it 🙏🏽
When I saw the Intrepid in 2001, one of the tour guides was a fella who served on it during WWII. Below deck in the hanger, he pointed out the two locations where kamikazes hit the ship. Also there was a big screen TV with the Discovery documentary playing on loop. As we walked by the TV, this veteran was actually on the TV giving an interview. He said to some kids watching, "hey who's that guy!?" They were blown away that it was him!
Wow! Pretty cool… Thanks for providing some background context on the Intrepid

Hello! So I did a bit of research and I found a pretty good resource for planning your transportation in different cities. You had a question about getting from the airport to Manhattan. Here is a link with detailed instructions on how you can do this using public or private transportation. Have a look. Also note that there is also an app available as well: www.rome2rio.com/s/New-York-JFK-Airport-JFK/Manhattan?source=adwords&gclid=CjwKCAjwzo2mBhAUEiwAf7wjkkhwEaeRMqik3XMMPHkwFfQsL7RBmI80jz3v2miKt5AsFdAKH8nVBBoCMY0QAvD_BwE

Informative, useful tips, the aircraft carrier is incredible, other places and attractions are good. Food offers are definitely good too, I tried a croissant slightly different from the supreme, without the filling, in Hong Kong, which was super good. The NY library is a good spot. Thanks so much for such a good video tour. Good job

I'm crazy and try to do this much in short amounts of time when I travel too lol I don't get to travel a lot because it's so expensive so when I do I usually book a lot. The Intrepid looks so fun I might have to go there next time!
It’s totally doable as long as you plan everything out. That’s the critical part. I would highly recommend the intrepid museum. Very educational and you get to have up close Interaction with what used to be state of the art equipment. They took the Concorde down the river for maintenance but I’m sure it will be back by late spring. Happy travels !

Excellent video, thanks for your valuable and useful tips. One question: How to get a sim card(for google maps)? Is it available on the airport for tourists, what are the charges and requirements to get a sim card.?
Hello!
Yes, you can buy a physical SIM card at the airport if you wish. They have some vending machines in the arrival hall. Although I feel it may be a little cheaper if you buy them in the city. I would put aside a minimum of 35 dollars to buy a card. Which card you get and spend money on will probably depend on your needs. Some smart phones have E-sims so you can activate it by contacting your existing phone provider. Hope this helps and that you have an amazing trip. Thank you for watching the video!
Really wish I saw this before my 3 days in NYC this past weekend. The Island, HIgh-line and St. Patrick's Cathedral are must see attractions. Also, some museums are free on certain days and others like the Guggenheim have pay as you wish time slots Saturday evenings that we took advantage of while we were there.
Must say that I haven’t heard of these attractions yet! Thanks for sharing. I’ll be sure to check them out at my next visit. Hope you had a great trip 👍🏾

Why didn't I see NYC videos before going ;( just coming from there noticing how much I missed xD just now is being recommended by RUclips 😢
No stress! I too learned about even more activities through the chats in the comment section of this video. That’s one of the great things about New York. When you feel you’ve seen it all, someone highlights something new to do ! All the better if you decide to make an alternate trip in the future 👍🏾. I appreciate you checking out the video btw.
This was so helpful! My family and I are visiting New York for the holidays. TFS 😊
Glad it was useful !! Wishing you a fantastic trip 🙌🏾
Great video for people looking to visit NYC. There are so many attractions and so many things to do that one may not be able to check off everything on their list.
However, I would also recommend that tourists visit the Bronx Zoo, Botanical Garden, and City Island in the Bronx; Botanic Garden in Brooklyn; and, Grand Central Terminal and the High Line in Manhattan.
Couldn’t agree more.
Those are also great recommendations. I really wanted to check out the High Line but I’ll definitely include that at my next visit !
Great job! Love your relaxed style and true feedback - and this is coming from someone who spent the majority of his life in NYC. Underrated channel! Subbed!

You should go to Flushing Meadows Park
Yes! Just looked this one up online and it seems like an amazing outdoor venue. I’ll be sure to check this one out next time I’m in Queens! Thank you for the recommendation 👍🏾
@@travels_wright I’m from Queens, I recommend the Unisphere at Flushing Meadows Park and Astoria Park, plus great video
Thanks brother 👍🏾. While you’re here, what are your top places you’d recommend to eat at in Queens?
@@travels_wright that’s difficult to say, I will say there is dozens of great places to eat
Timestamps would be nice
Looks like i am lucky as i can visit the city whenever i want within just 30 minutes
you only missed one thing, to mention prices. it would help for budgeting
You’re absolutely right, however, I did mention a few prices for some of the activities but this is something that always changes, so it’s a good idea to check the links below in the description for the most updated figures. Just as a quick example, this video went up 2 months ago and the transit fares have already gone up in price 😅. So definitely check out the webpages before hand when doing your planning ! Thanks for watching 👍🏾
🎉🎉
The vídeo was very well put together. Nevertheless IMHO there is not much fun in trying to going to 20 NYC attractions in 3 days.
Thanks, I appreciate you watching !
By all means, if it takes longer to do these attractions, it’s all good too, but If you’re only in the city for 3 days, then these are some great recommendations to choose from. There is a good chance that not all these attractions will 100% appeal to everyone so it serves as a guide of what can be done in 3 days. I Always recommend going at your own pace when doing planning.
Happy travels !
Excellent video review of the City! I’ve been there 100s of times, having grown up in Philadelphia, just down the highway. (do you have a video of that city?). Anyway, I always advise visitors to see Tomkins Sq Park, just beyond the Lower East Side. It’s not as scenic as Central Park but you can see how the real, everyday NY’ers live. There are live performances (usually not good but fun to watch), pro-grade skateboarders, and the 2 dog parks are the best free entertainment south of Times Square.
Thank a lot Ben!
No, I don’t have a video on Philly, but I’d sure like to check out what the city has to offer 👍🏾.
That’s one of the things I appreciate about New York. When you feel you’ve seen all there is in the city, you’ll be directed to a great lessor-know spot. Thanks for pointing out and recommending Tomkins Square Park. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m in the city. 🙌🏾
@@travels_wright If you ever do Philly you must check out the Mutter museum. Nothing like it anywhere!
Awesome! I'll be sure to check it out

Genial visitar esa ciudad tan llena de lugares maravillosos ♥️
¡Estoy de acuerdo! Sería difícil aburrirse en la ciudad.
Any chance you could film a video how to connect from the Airports? Greetings from Croatia!
Hello!
This is a actually a great video topic. I’ll have to do some research on the public transit route. I have always driven to NYC or taken an Uber or taxi from airport. Depending on the amount of luggage you will be carrying with you, the latter may be the best and easiest option albeit a little more expensive. I would also check with your hotel as some of them offer shuttle service to and from the airport as well. Hope you enjoy your stay all the way from Croatia!
The JFK & Newark airports are easy to make connections.
From Newark you take a bus to the city. As I remember you can get off the bus on the NYC side of the George Washington bridge and make MTA subway connections.
From JFK there is the plane train. It takes you to the MTA “A” train. Separate fares for plane train and the “A” station. Absolutely the cheapest way to get to the city. BTW $1 charge for each MTA card for either/both plane train and/or MTA.
There is a bus from LaGuardia airport to a MTA train station but never tried that.
Mask On Nurse Marty (Marty)
@martingreenberg870 thanks for laying it out here. I’m sure it will come in handy for those traveling to New York by plane !!
Thanks bro, but why there’s no the highline on your list?
Honestly, it’s something that I wish I had added to the list. There was just so much to see in the city. If you get the opportunity to go, I’d check it out for sure! Have a great trip 🙌🏾
The Ellis Island experience is massively underated in my opinion. If you want to feel history then this is a must visit.. We did NYC for 3 days and we packed in alot but we both still often say how incredible the Ellis Island experience was.
I agree with you! I personally enjoy getting a glimpse of what it was like to live in their shoes, back then. It’s nice that the museum can at least attempt to recapture and preserve those moments for the present and future public.
What a fantastic and informative video. Much more help that other crap clickbait videos. You deserve more exposure. keep it up pal
Thank you for the comment, really means a lot 🙏🏽
This was a great list for anyone who has never been to the city. I absolutely love the Museum of Natural History. I go there every few years or so. Speaking of Museums, over on the 5th Ave side of Central Park (aka Museum Mile), there are quite a few. The Met is inside the park on the 5th Ave side, but I like visiting the City of New York Museum which is also right across the street from the park.
The Brooklyn Bridge is awesome and I also highly recommend walking it to Brooklyn Bridge Park. However, if you want a nice quiet bridge to walk without tourists, The High Bridge in High Bridge Park in Washington Heights is a bridge I like walking. High Bridge Park, High Bridge Water Tower, and the bridge itself have a lot of history. The High Bridge is the oldest bridge in Manhattan (Brooklyn Bridge is the second oldest) and the High Bridge Water Tower is the tallest tower in Manhattan. They give free self guided tours of the tower the first Sunday of each month and there are really awesome views up there. Of course, being a water tower (that’s no longer being used) there are no elevators. It’s 170 steps to climb. If you can walk it, it’s worth it. High Bridge Park is also very close to the George Washington Bridge which is another awesome bridge to walk (yes a lot of traffic as it’s the busiest bridge in America, but well worth the walk to get spectacular views of the Hudson River). Also close by is the Morris-Jummel mansion (the oldest house in Manhattan). They turned that house into a museum. Only 15 minutes from the High Bridge Tower. The Little Red Lighthouse directly below the G.W. is also worth visiting. Oh and not too far away from the G.W. is Fort Tryon Park in Hudson Heights where The Met Cloisters is, so if anyone is willing to explore upper Manhattan, those would be my suggestions. All of the places are an easy subway ride on the A or C. 😁
Wow! You laid out quite a few places here that I didn’t even mention in my video. Thanks for pointing these out 👍🏾👍🏾
@travels_wright No problem, and if you cross the G.W. into New Jersey, it's a five minute walk to Fort Lee Historic Park which offers fantastic views of the bridge. 😁
Thank you 👍🏾👍🏾
@@travels_wright Anytime. 😎
Wow, 15k to fly twice the speed of sound. Today, that’s comparable to flying on a semi private plane
I was pretty impressed by that fun fact myself. It’s probably on account of the high cost to operate the plane divided by a limited number of seats.
What is the advantage of the metro card? If you pay as you go with Apple Pay or card it is also capped at 12 paid rides per week, but you don’t have to pay for anything you might not need.
I feel it would probably cost more to not use the weekly pass. Would also depend on how May attractions you would be going to see. We used it quite a bit as it was our only means of transportation throughout the city. Also, if you accidentally take the wrong subway car or get off at the wrong station you won’t have to worry. With the pass, you only pay one fixed price.
Hope this helps 👍🏾
@@travels_wright Thanks for the reply. But the weekly pass is also 33$, right? So the same maximum you might have to pay using Apple Pay/card as you go. Due to the cap you have like unlimited rides that week as well for the same price.
So far I’ve always used my watch for using the subway etc. and I never paid more than 33$ per week (or less if I did less than 12 rides)
That’s correct, if you swipe the weekly card fewer than 12 times you will save money paying for each individual trip. But if you go over 12 swipes the weekly card becomes the cheaper/cost saving option. So really depends on the itinerary that has been planned for the week.
@@travels_wright No that‘s what I meant, after 12 rides every ride with the same apple pay device or CC is totally free as well. So it won’t get more expensive than the weekly card. That‘s why I think it is only meant for people that don’t have a contactless credit card or apple pay and I can’t see the general advantage of that. Or am I missing something?
Okay, I see the point you’re making now. I actually wasn’t aware they capped the charges when you use tap functions. I think you’re probably right. If you normally pay cash for your fares (most visitors will prefer cash), there wouldn’t really be a way to track the number of trips for a particular individual, so this is where the paper pass would be preferred in the case you don’t have an electronic means of payment to cap the charges. If you take enough trips it will come down to the same thing in either case. Thanks for pointing this out 👍🏾
*traveling
Rooftop Tearass?
😂
Counting 8h for sleeping each day (3 days x 8h of sleep each night = 24h of total sleep in those 3 days) and not doing anything else (eating, shopping, going on toilet, showering) in those 3 days (or 72 hours) .... you have an average of 2h and 24 min (72h of the trip minus 24h of sleep divided by 20 attractions) to spend in each attraction... and this has to include travelling time between attractions, purchase tickets, waiting in a queue, etc.
I am sure it's not worth it, I doubt you enjoyed it and it is very unlikely that you actually managed to visit everything in only 3 days.
The comment actually put a smile on my face..It was actually an AMAZING trip! Something I wanted to do for the longest time. Believe it or not, we did ALL of those activities in those 3 days. Planning and getting around efficiently as indicated in the video goes a long way. If I can do it, I am more than confident everyone else can too! I’ll also add that the video is there to help you narrow down the activities that you prefer doing. Not all of them will suite everyone’s tastes, but the choice is there and I always recommend going at a pace that you’re comfortable with. Happy travels 🙌🏾!
@@travels_wright I am glad it did 😆
But, honestly, how long did you spend in each of the attractions?
There were 20 different sites or attractions of differing nature. Naturally, some took longer than others. For example, I wouldn’t spend 2 hours at the charging Bull because it’s not needed. You see it, grab a photo with it and you check it off your personal list. I spent 3 hours at the intrepid museum though because there was so much to do. So it really varies timewise. I guess the easiest way I can put it is that we never felt pressured or rushed at any point. We had our reservations when needed to avoid lines and once in a particular area, a lot of the attractions are so close by and accessible by foot. So it’s definitely doable. Be prepared to walk a lot though. There is no going around this😊. However long your personal list is, plan it and enjoy it and go at your own pace. Hope this answers your question 👍🏾
Love NYC, since I moved here! Best city in the USA, especially if you are an immigrant
Lots of opportunities
As a Bahamian, NYC will be my home one day!
Wouldn’t you miss the weather ?😅
@@travels_wright Not completely. I wanted a new chapter.
I hope you achieve your goal 🙏🏽
Is the city pass worth it?
Hello !
If you are planning to visit any combination of the activities listed on the city pass page, then yes, I think it’s absolutely worth it. You could also do some quick calculations to see how much you’ll actually save. See what it would cost to by the tickets individually versus using the City Pass the choice should be very clear at that point. Hope this answers your question and happy travels 👍🏾👍🏾
Why us their a concord in NY when the Americans, mainly out of jealousy, did so much to try to stop it flying to flying into their country?
Don’t quite know the political back story behind the Concorde 😅 but I am happy they seem to settle their differences and that the museum has one on display😅. FYI, for any of you going in fall of 2023, they have taken the Concorde down stream for preservation treatment. It will be back in time for tourist season next year 👍🏾
@travels_wright Congress and the city of New York did everything they could to stop Concord from flying into America. On the day of the first flight, there were protests in the city.
There was much misinformation given about the plane.
The negative attitude was a contributing factor to the American airlines canceling order for the plane.
Wow, interesting… who knows if the plane would be still in operation had there been more airlines operating the plane? I also remember reading the Americans were working on their own super sonic plane as well but it never came to completion. Thanks for the fun fact !
🫶🏿
Thank you for watching 🙏🏽
Is not safe in public transportation.
My personal experience has been really good with the public transit system when I visited the city. I had a genuine concern about using it at first because of what I grew up hearing, but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised. However, I have heard of an uptick in incidents this year (2024). I am hoping it’s isolated events. What has been your experience ?
The way you pronounce Terrace lmao
You’ll see why I pronounce it like that in my next video. I’m actually bilingual, so I may have confused the pronunciation with another language 😅
It’s okay, but too much time spent on the Intrepid, almost 25 percent of the video.
Felt it was a museum that doesn’t get enough love. So I gave it a little more air time 😅. If you couldn’t tell by the video already, I genuinely had a great time there. Good outing for the family too👍🏾
I lived in NYC back in the early 2000s. I got to say, one of the oddest things I ever saw was the delivery of the Concord to the Intrepid museum. Just one morning there was the Concord being tugged up the Hudson on a barge. The other weird story when I lived there - a guy got arrested for having a pet tiger and alligator in his Harlem apartment. He got in trouble because he got bit by the tiger and at the ER they didn't believe him that it was a dog bite. There's a NY Post picture of a NYPD cop hanging from a harness outside a building, with a tranquilizer rifle and through the window you can see the tiger. Google that picture. About the most New York thing ever.
I actually wondered how they were able to transport the Concorde to its current location. Makes total sense that they did it by boat and craned it in 👍🏾

City pass is scammy, read the fine print.
Hey, Curious to know What kind of experience you had with City Pass? On my end, I personally had a flawless experience using it. Was that the case for you?
Pmsl at how Americans pronounce terrace 😅
That was actually my French prononciation that slipped in there 😂. My apologies, sometimes I mix the two languages. Hope you still enjoyed the content though 👍🏾
Very dirty city
Really depends on which part of the city you’re in…. I found the central areas of New York to be a lot cleaner given the high number of people that circulate the city on a daily basis. I found The outer areas needed a little more care compared to say Canadian cities😅 , but there is a very good reason why people still decide to live in New York City outside of this point!
I'm from NYC and if you want to visit, don't. Find some better place to visit. I left it many years ago.
Sorry you had a bad experience living in New York, however, I feel it’s a reason thousands go annually to visit and why so many people live there. It may not be for everyone but there are so many who enjoy what the city has to offer.
