Amateur Golfer Gets Hole in One - Caught on Camera!

- Stoked and lucky enough to hit an ace on the 7th Hole @ McCleery Golf Course - Vancouver, BC, Canada in August 2020. 50 deg club on a 126-yard hole.
There is obviously no proof it went in (apart from all 3 others I was with and the photos I have on the green) so if you don't believe it, then you're a half glass empty kind of person ;)
But I wanted to share this because before this shot was taken, I asked my friends if any of them had any 'birdie juice' with them (which they all said no), followed by my statement saying we should all be carrying 'hole-in-one juice' for the day that may happen as well. Funny enough this happened straight after! You wouldn't read about it!...until now. Enjoy.

My glory came with 4 friends at a tournament where there was a prize for a hole in one for every par 3....except the one I luckily made mine. I got a "good job" and looked at the prizes from afar lol

I am a 15 handicapper. Aged 70. Played for nearly 60 years. Never experienced a hole in one. Close many, many times. Sometimes inches away and sometimes the ball would roll slowly agonisingly round the lip but never dropping into the cup. Envious but happy for you and your reactions says it all. Well done mate.

Same, same age, 14 handicap, was down to 8 , played for 50 years and have come soooo close. I don’t know how I would feel,elated, relieved…. One day Ron 😃

I started golfing in 1974, and I cannot begin to say how many rounds I have played. Certainly well over a thousand. Not a single hole in one. I've been close, like under a foot, on half a dozen occasions. Probably have had 20 eagles, or more, but no aces. Hell..I have had three eagles on par fours, one from about 200 yards out. Good for you!
Tell you what. You keep at it, and I'll keep at it, and maybe you'll get your ace and I'll get my 2 on a par 4. If we fail, don't let it be for lack of trying.
@@jasonbaird1645 - I lipped out an albatross, waaaay back in 1975. Never got that close again.
Its a great moment but I wouldnt put any real merit to it. An amateur ace is just a fluke. Doesnt make you a good golfer.
Especially on a short hole.
At lease on a 300 yarder its a proper achievement because you have to be very good to hit it that far anyway easpecially in the direction of the flag.
Empathy isn't always about sharing someone's suffering. If you can feel the raw joy here, I mean actually FEEL it, then congratulations, you've got genuine empathy. (and this was an absolute blast!)

I played a 9 hole with my aunt last week she is 70 years old and started 10 years ago. First hole was a par 3, 125 meter for her. She always hits a driver because she gets it with a average of 100 meter carry and total of 120 a 130 meter. She made a hole in one and i was even more excited then she was 😄
that's great, i can believe it, coz when i had mine i couldnt see it go in the hole coz of the angle and a bunker in the way, but my m8's did, and when they started cheering i thought they were having me on, so i didn't get full value, and when i realised i'd actually done it, it was a little too late to start jumping up and down, but the fact they were all pleased for me was reward enough !!. GL

I am struggling to play to my 27 handicap due to illness but have been lucky enough to have 4 holes in one, including one in a Stragglers match.
One of my golfing buddies plays of 6, hasn't shot over 80 for years has never had one.

I’ve had a couple of pitch shots go in on Par 4’s and 5’s for Eagle, but never a hole in one on Par 3. Nice shot.
The best part was when the camera man zoomed in. 😂 ⛳️🕳

No matter how bad you play it is those miracle shots that keep you coming back.
Both of my holes in one and all of my eagle 2's were out of my sight as I had to hit over bunkers - indeed my first hole in one I nearly gave up as lost until someone looked in the hole

What happens in the case your holed out ball is deemed lost because your didnt check the cup?

Didn't see mine either. Was a relatively short (playing 163) hole, but half of the green with the hole was in shadow. I knew I hit a good shot, but didn't see it go in. The only reason I knew it did, was the reaction of the guys on the next tee. They were going crazy! They then let me play through, I ripped it right down the middle, then reality sunk in and I proceeded to bogie average the next 5 holes.

Generally say im hitting another but will play the first if I can find it. But if close to OB always hit another just in case.. Not need to walk all the way back
Years ago, I was playing a round of golf with a buddy. Par 3, elevated tee box, about 130 yards. He mis-hit the shot hitting a worm-burner that bounced here and there, careened off a tree, ran up the green and died in the hole. Got his name and details in the paper. Had to buy the rest of us a beer in the 19th hole,,,and those aren't cheap. He framed the tiny article, put in on the wall and made sure everybody looked at it. I never got a hole-in-one, and now I'm too old to play. Fond memories

I wish my first one would have been recorded. One of the rangers (3-18 hole courses) was on the t-box to witness it. He called it in by radio to the clubhouse immediately. I was on a golf trip with 23 others. Great memories! 🕳 🏌️♂️

I saw my son-in-law do the exact same thing @ Heartwell Golf Park in Long Beach CA one day. It was so incredibly cool!
Playing High School golf there was a kid in my group who shot a 13 on a par 4 then got a hole in one the very next hole...golf is such a weird game I love it

That is the best feeling! I hit a few but in a video game and when the system sees that its going in OR close to it the color switches to gray, and a heart beat starts and that's when we wait to see what the out come is. STILL a great feeling. I JUST picked up a VR headset and got Golf+ and I play it everyday after work to relax. I can even connect the game to RUclips and listen to whatever I want. I can't access my playlists but I can search for songs, singers, or regular videos.

I have been fortunate to play a round were someone who joined our 2-some hit an ace. And that alone was exciting as hell.
I've been fortunate enough to have three holes in one. I've also had one double eagle and more than my fair share of hole-outs from the fairway. But, every single time one of those things has happened to me my round goes downhill in a hurry right after that. It never fails.

I’ve played for about 25 years, got to within inches a few times then when Covid arrived I was playing the 8th hole on my home course, par 3, 118m to the pin. Hit the perfect 8 iron, nice and high and the ball came straight down onto the pin and into the hole.
Unfortunately for me there were plastic discs placed in every hole so people didn’t have to put their hands in the hole, possibly passing on Covid to others. The ball kicked sharp left leaving me about 15ft for birdie. Missed the put and walked off with a 3.
I’ve been lucky enough to have lived a healthy life but when it comes to luck in anything else it has evaded me like the plague.

One year at my golf league's year end tournament (scramble) we were all sitting around the 18th (Par 3) watching everyone come in. The very last group had to get a drive in from their D player (minimum 4 drives used per player - players all ranked A through D based on handicap for the year). It was 180 years across water and nasty green, so the guy pull a 3 wood to make sure he cleared the water! He nailed it, came in hot, bounced once and hit the pin, skipped back a dozen feet towards the front edge of the green and then spun up the hill right into the cup. 40 guys cheered like the winning goal of an international match was just scored!
I had a real life smile just now. Way to go!!

Closest I have ever been is a club handle away on 138 yard par 3 with an 8 iron...
I witnessed a bizarre ace and I wonder if that man ever wished I could confirm his story to the people he shares it with. I'm his only witness and he will never be able to track me down.

Last week hole 1 I hit the best drive I’ve ever hit. Landed like 15 feet from the hole. I said Yupp today’s going to be a good day. I ended up putting 4 times before I made it hahahah.

Made my first hole in one at the age of 9! My Dad almost had a stroke when he saw it lol
been playing for a year. Hit a hole in one on a par 3 in my third month. Could not hit the ball for the life of me back then but for some reason I was able to get it in the air this time and it bounced once and rolled abut 2 inches and bang it went in

When my son got his first hole in one, I gave him money to buy lottery tickets. When he got his second hole in one, I gave him money for tickets again. Didn’t win. Then my Mrs told me he used up all his luck getting the holes in one.

Took wife 1st time golfing to a par 3 course, 4th hole she hits a 5 iron on a 98yd an holes it. I've played for 10 yrs never got one.

My one time playing McCleery I drove onto the 6th green off the tee box. I suck too, could have eagled if my short game wasn't attrocious
I once bogeyed a par 5 that i greened in 2 shots. It still haunts me to this day
looks a decent swing and proper shot, great to see WD - a guy at our club played off 12-18 for all the years i knew him and had a staggering 14 holes in one. in the same 25 years i played most my golf off single figures & eventually got the monkey off my back and had just one at a pissy 135yarder lol, with loads of m8's even lower than me never having any. My dad has always been a rabbit and he's had 3 !! - strange game :)

I was a quarter roll away from achieving immortality. If an ant farted on the ball it would have dropped. Cost me my marriage, job, friends, house, and turned me to booze and drugs.
When I got my first hole in one, I just looked down at the hold and said "nice" :)
I bounced one down the flagpole, in and then right back out of the cup on my 4th or 5th round ever. I went nuts and it didn't even stick.

Been there myself. Watched it the whole way. Legit witness and I doubted it the whole way but made the 1 anyhow. Next round holed out with an eagle on 1st hole par 4 from 148. Thought I figured something out... Lol nope. Went right back to the usual bogey par routine
