Allison was PHENOMENAL. But seriously the whole ensemble was brilliant and came together like clockwork. The timing, the moves, the energy. And this is a youth company. I can't even. The future sure is bright.
i keep coming back to this every couple years and every time i watch it something else i notice or i find hilarious i would have loved to watch this in person p.s this it my 4th time watching it hehe still love love LOVE
I am so impressed that this is a youth group! the timing of humor, deep understanding of the characters (which is not easy when they're such stereotypes and cliches) and the choreography was way beyond what i was expecting clicking on this video. I'm glad this is on youtube, because more people need to see this!!
I've gotten to do this show twice, including the Regional Premiere after it closed on Broadway. I adore this show, and this production is possibly one of the best I've found on RUclips. This production understood the style and didn't try to make it into musical theatre. These kids get the rock, and they get John Waters style beautifully. Fantastic job!
0:30-2:00 - intro 2:10-5:13 - the anti polio picnic 5:13-8:20 - watch your ass 12:37-16:16 - im infected 17:26-20:08 - squeaky clean 22:38-24:37 - nobody gets me 25:39-27:35 - nobody gets me reprise 27:48-29:25 - jukebox jamboree 31:13-33:42 - a whole lot worse 35:22-38:26 - screw loose 39:16-42:54 - baby baby baby baby 45:55-49:03 - girl, can i kiss you with tongue 49:45-51:00 - im infected reprise 53:23-1:03:59 - you cant beat the system 1:05:23-1:10:28 - misery, agony, helplessness, hopelessness, heartache, and woe 1:14:38-1:15:06 - misery, agony, helplessness, hopelessness, heartache, and woe reprise 1:16:37-1:20:08 - all in my head 1:23:47-1:30:08 - a little upset 1:34:11-1:38:41 - i did something wrong, once 1:40:37-1:42:33 - thanks for the nifty country 1:49:18-1:50:03 - this amazing offer 1:50:15-1:51:02 - do that again 1:52:33-1:57:39 - nothing bad’s ever gonna happen again
The part where Cry-Baby extinguishes a match in his mouth was cut, but I did like how they showed people getting the shots, and while Baldwin screams in pain, Mona doesn't flinch.
She obviously can't belt like Alli the trained soprano but that's totally understandable. Her acting and moves were brilliant tho and more than made up for it. Superb.
I feel like the audience keeps laughing at the moments that arent even supposed to be funny, so it ruins the mood of the song or the specific moment. But i love the performance!
I can imagine that since this a youth theatre performance a lot of the audience members will be friends and family of the performers/know them so therefore there will be more laughter. I know from when I did youth theatre, there is always a group of one cast member's friends who just giggle all the way through at their friend in the show. It's not malicious, just kind of cute/sometimes loud haha!
So glad they changed the placement of they dont get me from the professional show. And i feel this audience setup works better for this show that traditional stage

I feel like the audience keeps laughing at the moments that arent even supposed to be funny, so it ruins the mood of the song or the specific moment. But i love the performance!
yeahh i agree, it was pretty much constant laughter rather than just laughter at the appropriate times. really hard to ignore
