UNRAVEL ME - Behind The Song

DAY 4 of my song-by-song introduction to the new album. Dissecting one album track a day for the next 12 days right up until the album release on the 17th.
Today an absolute favourite: UNRAVEL ME
A song about sex, ultimately. It doesn’t get more personal than that right?
I could take you to that alley I mention in the first line, one of those moments in life where you melt into another person and realise that you trust them completely.
The chorus is the sound of me throwing off everything I was led to believe physical intimacy should be and surrendering to what is real.
I wanted this track to rumble.. I wanted you to be able to feel the bowed bass line in your body so with the right sound system, it was an actual physical experience. The voice had to be whispered.. it needed to feel like a confidence we’re sharing. At the same time, the harmony lines are deliberately discordant in places, so it’s not altogether comfortable to listen to.
I like to think unravel me is the sound of letting go.. a sigh, a secret
