“The straights are too powerful” -Roffle, 2024
I mean, is he wrong?
3:41 is where he said that.
as they should be
yeah?
good
They should really get nerfed next update
Am I the only one who feels like they can see into the Balatro matrix when I'm watching Roffle make mistakes, then I actually go play and suddenly can't count?
The backseat gamer powers activate
Although on a more serious note, roffle has to entertain chat and play the game at the same time. Meanwhile we can watch with half of our attention on something else
@@friskydrinklunkybank1108 For sure. If anything, I want this comment to endorse how crazy it is to criticize Roffle in the vids.
Backseat gaming is a real think. When you aren't engaged in actually piloting a run it's far easier to spot mistakes or questionable decision. It's the same when you're in school and you can easily spot mistakes made by the teacher or your classmates but that doesn't necessarily translate in you being able to do a better job than them
You are noticing small mistakes (missing one a-4 straight for example), which he makes because streaming divides attention. His decisions on the build, piloting the deck etc. are is still really good so he can get away with those most of the time.
There have been at least three jesters referred to as "Triboulet", with the first being a playwright serving René of Anjou, the second serving Louis XII, and the third Francis I (and possibly also Louis XII), and those two became later confused as one person.
The third Triboulet (aka Le Févrial) is also a character in the Victor Hugo play Le roi s'amuse.
20:45 I didn't know it worked that way with the 4 card flush/straight joker. Going to have to move it into the repertoire.
Can you explain how that interaction works?
Ok because of 4 fingers when you play a straight with 3 matching suits and 1 not matching suit you can throw in 1 card of the matching suit and because the hand is both a straight and a flush it counts as a straight flush.@@iamcool456123
@@iamcool456123 You only need 4 cards on the straight, so it makes a straight, and only 4 for flush, so since both straight and flush is satisfactory, it makes a straight flush..
Now exactly why it can do that _might_ have to do with that straight flush might not really be its own thing, but instead be just "straight + flush", might even be specifically done that way to make this interaction work
@@iamcool456123 The joker 4 fingers lets you make straights and flushes with 4 cards. So with the 5 6 7 8 he has a straight and the A 8 7 5 he has a flush. Never knew it worked like that either
@@iamcool456123pretty much how it works is because 4 fingers makes straights and flushes work with 4 cards, it looks at the A234 straight and the A348 flush and combines them into a straight flush because somewhere in the code it’s meeting the criteria for a straight and a flush
Oof that Hook. Always hits me too whenever I try to run with the Straights.
That first desperate search for a 6 is exactly how it feels for me every time I do a straight build. The only unrelatable part was when you actually found the 6.
Not me finding this video immediately after I finished doing my first straight run
With all of the hung men recently, Roffle is just trying to appease the other side
Its so satisfying to see a balatro run.
Straight builds have always been my fav. Glad it's buffed
Man i hate playing straights because the discards require a lot of focus. I basically only play it on painted deck.
Youre a better man than me.
That straight flush is so funny, Triboulet carry
"We hit a super straight"
right when I need something to fall asleep to, I know Roffle got my back, Balatro has got me by the throat if I'm honest
Another video I caught within 5 minutes, let's go! Keep up the great content ROFL
"The straights are at it again"
had a strong run, thinned out all number cards and As, heavy jacks for hit the road with blueprint, family and stacked yorick and red card. gets a all face cards are debuffed...rip run
Man if a I love baltrato. And i love you Roddrle
20:32 How did that straigth count both Queens?
18:24 MOM I MADE IT IN A ROFFLE VIDEO
Is this a reupload? I remember seeing a straight run with a runner few weeks ago here
new Runner is really fun, almost got my first gold stake win with it + Shortcut, but I misclicked a hand on the Ante 8 boss and lost lol
That sounds so painful
you can quickly hit esc and go back to menu, then the hand wont be played
The problem with the "ace, two, three..." straight is it doesn't clearly visually represent itself in this game. add Four Fingers on to that and you're obviously going to overlook it when it's doubly unintuitive
All my Souls have recently been giving me Chico :(
HEY CHICOT IS TRYING HIS BEST
oops no 6s
I got a runner to 660 chips today. God it's busted now
Runner is good, but honestly I think straights are just too good. I don't think they needed the (pretty huge) buff they got in the update
Straights? During pride month?
Wait, how did you make a straight flush with a spade and clubs?? You didnt have smeared joker??
Timestamp 16:18
Because he had 4 Fingers. 4 Fingers makes it so both straights and flushes require 4 cards. 2 3 4 5 was a straight. However, since the 2 4 5 were clubs, he could also play the Ace of clubs. And the ace 2 4 5 was a flush. So since the hand was both a straight, as well as a flush, it counted as a straight flush.
@@oreov12But the spade card scored
@pingu4938 right because the spade card was part of the straight. I didn't know it worked like this until this video either. Basically, he played two separate scoring hands. 4 of the 5 cards made a straight, 4 of the 5 cards made a flush. All 5 scored, making it a straight flush.
14:07 brain hurty :(
20:50 brain hurty even more :((
Basically, 4 fingers makes a straight flush only require a straight of 4 and a flush of 4 (not necessarily both in the same 4 cards).
I don't think the intro spiel is necessary.
you hella tunnel vision on first seen straights so that you would rather play a lower straight than a higher one even when the same card is needed for both. For example: you had A,K,Q,10,9,8 and discarded the A and K just because the 9 and 8 was the first you saw.
Discarding A and K gave him more outs. He needed Jack for a high straight. The lower straight was more possible as it needed J or 7 and 6
Stupid discard boss. Ruins so many of my runs.
11 seconds and no views you fell off
