Alexa Davalos is stunningly beautiful and has the most intriguing and captivating British-American accent.
She is French, additionally before being actor was model.
John Smith was a fascinating character. At first he comes off as nothing more than a clever, but cynical and sociopathic tool of the Reich. And as the series progresses you realize he is just doing whatever he feels is necessary for his family. Also watching the show has a tendency to be quite emotionally turbulent because many people who are antagonists in certain conflicts are protagonists in others. I mean by the end of season 1 you find yourself essentially having to root for Adolf Hitler because some of the people conspiring against him are worse than he is.
I completely agree. This also applies to Kido in my opinion. First they make you hate him for being ruthless and killing an innocent family but as the series progresses this clear black starts to fade and becomes more and more grey. Even to the point where I was seriously glad Kido survived the explosion. It's amazing how sophisticated the characters are. You constantly have to reassess their actions and intentions.
I totally agree , the show has some of the deepest characters there is, and nothing is black and white really , except for the Nazi conspirators they're dicks
Jake S I don’t know man. They had noble intentions right? A preemptive war to stop all other wars. Uniting humanity to achieve greater things! (Albeit at a mountain of corpses so may not be worth it but all the same. They did not think of themselves as evil.)
@@edwardliu111 apart from being morally reprehensible it was a totally unsustainable regime. The more you try and control and restrict both human biology and human behaviour the more problems you create.
elaine racionzer it worked out pretty well for many empires for many generations in the past. I’m not glad it did but I think it’s a bad and dangerous habit to think that Star Wars is what is inevitable that some rebels will always restore freedom

I love directors kind of checklisting how well his actors know the story in interviews.

A completely mesmerising show! The brilliance in it's production and the stellar performances of the cast manage to make you feel as if you are there and this is happening! Do NOT miss this program!
Am I the only one who is picking up on the parodies in the otherwise grim (and not very good) series? Some of the similarities to other characters from the past (such as the Rifelman to Dirty Harry) and some of the music choices ("back in the saddle") are noteworthy and very funny!
I enjoyed them as well! It is very dark humor, which to me is the best kind!! I love the parodies as well, however I love this series.
Indeed this story show us that nazis did not left, indeed right now, seems like we live in a kind of parallel world but with different symbols.

Just finished watching series. Found it immersive viewing with great characters. Novel story which doesn't sensationalise aftermath of war. Just focuses on ordinary people trying to survive each day. Can't wait for season 2. Five star-rating on Amazon Prime @ 82%
I make a similar series here on youtube myself, it's also about genocide and Social Darwinism (even rape victims and their entire families get executed for being raped!). But I've never felt that it was overwhelming so much that I had to sit down for a moment during acting. Interesting.

Juliana or Davalos sounds a kind of shy, but his perspective in their interviews is interesting, her voice is quite soft. The roles of Juliana and Joe had a great chemistry, I guess.

i watch the last episode of the man in the high castle. It hitler the man in the high castle? Im still confuse who is the man in the high castle?
the book that this TV series is based on uses novels to tell the story of the Allies winning the war. it was written by the man in the high castle. obviously the TV series changed it to movie film reels
+Simon Clark Actually, it's discussed in the series that the Man in the High Castle is not *necessarily* the maker of the films. As Lem points out, why would he make them and then send them out, only to have people risk their lives just to return them to him? At this point, I don't think we can say with any certainty just who the Man in the High Castle is, at least within the confines of the show.
The last episode did actually leave me with the theory that Hitler is the Man in the High Castle. He had all those film reels showing the alternate realities, so who's to say he hasn't infiltrated the Resistance enough that he's manipulating everyone into procuring the films for him? Thought that does make you wonder why the Nazis would be fighting the Resistance for the films, rather than just letting them do their thing.
Anyway, my point with all this rambling is that I don't think we should assume anything about the Man in the High Castle yet, even that he's the maker of the movies.
