One suggestion - "Keep it simple".
Let me clear my point regarding SIP in ETF. You cannot do direct SIP in ETFs without a demat account like you can do in Index Funds. Some brokers allow creation of SIP in stocks and ETF through basket orders. But not all brokers or direct AMCs allow that.
If you can do SIP in ETF via broker account, its good to have. But not all investors have that privilege.

In angel there is one smallcase of 3 etf merged together available free of cost for SIP. Of course trde charges are there. Combination of nifty bees cpse, and itbeesin ratio of 30,30,40.
U can choose other etf options also. Amount is flexible. Best way to accumulate. Expense ratio of etf + charges = expense ratio index funds. Taxation both are same. According to me etf are the best.

Niftybees invest the dividends in same proportion as nifty50 even if you get dividends from one perticualar stock. If you check nifty 50 dividend yields and add it to nifty you will get niftybees value but SBI etf gives sometimes direct dividend to your bank account as main investor in sbi is EPFO of india so everyone will get dividend in their account when EPFO wants . So value is less than niftybees with index fund you can choose growth and dividend options

Actively Managing a Longer-Term Portfolio with ETFs
: ETFs can be used to create a broad diversifiedportfolio. An investor can use active management strategies by entering and exiting into wide array of ETFs across themes, sectors and asset classes, instead of simply using buy and hold passive management strategy.

Index fund?

Arbitrage (Cash Vs Futures) and Covered Option Strategies : ETF's can be used to arbitrage between cash and futures market, as it is very easy to trade. ETF's can also be used for cover option strategies on the index

What happens to dividends in case of ETFs? Because for index funds, dividends are reinvested and thus, the dividend part does not get taxed till you redeem. And this effectively adds to the compounding.

Same as Index funds, dividends of ETFs are reinvested back.

Very good video. Maybe you can check how much is the difference in buy price% between index and ETF (min vs iNAV) on days of high volatility like Election 2024 results day or even Covid days... I suspect the return difference due to ETF will become negligible over a 10-20 year period

if you can trade ETFs you will get much more returns than index funds easily...which will beat index funds easily by huge margin...ETFs SIP are possible thr zerodha basket...

I appreciate your video but some points can be made better e.g
Demat charge is constant nothing extra for etf.
A better comparison would be if someone do sip of 20000 per month for 20 years, what will be the difference in final portfolio value. Because as i know an etf has expense ratio of assume 0.10 whereas in index fund it is 0.20. generally a difference of 0.10%. Does this difference will create a big difference in 20 years for that need to consider stt and transaction charges on etf purchase.
I didn't find a single person on RUclips which do this analysis based on real charges

    • @hamid_091

      Agree
      If we take Example
SBI Nifty Index Direct Plan Growth has Expense ratio of 0.18%
      where as
SBI Nifty 50 ETF has expense ratio of 0.04%
In long term it is big difference
RUclipsrs should show the real time difference

In index funds AMC physically buys stocks in lumpsum and holds those stocks in their demat. It is like buying physical gold passively.
In ETF, that is not the case. AMC doesn't actually buy or sell or hold the stocks but calculates virtually. It is like gold bond.
Thats reason for difference in expense ratio.
Some funds FOF derive value from ETF. in that case liquidity problem in ETF affects NAV of MF.
Govt is pushing us to invest there😅

    • @crisvamc83
      @crisvamc83 Год назад

You should also calculate brokerage, STT, GST, stampduty for ETF which are just like stocks. Then both come to the same point i think.

etfs dont have stt. i don't pay any stt on angel one and it also provide zero brokerage. when selling, just pay the dp charges
