I honestly believe it it were multi platform, FF16 and Rebirth would have smashed sales.

The fact this happening after the release of their best game in decades is ridiculous. Even ff16, which was not nearly as good as rebirth, was still far better then ffxv and ffxiii. bummer.
There need to finally put to rest to their ethics department they did try to hide em from removing any mention of em on their Japanese website.
Final Fantasy VII was one PS5 only, and if it was on multiple platforms, I’m sure that we’d be hearing how well the game did for profits…
I've seen a lot of fans say they would buy Rebirth if it came to PC.
Clearly there weren't enough videos explaining the ending of FFVII Remake.
Someone is working incredibly hard trying to trick us into believing that Square's spiral is somehow related to FF7R. How convenient and disingenuous it is for them to release how little ff7r sold in Japan and not mention it was only for digital sales. They're trying to make it seem like ff7 flunked world-wide when in actuality it was just in Japan, a country where 90% of people play handhelds... Seems like someone is extremely jealous of Sony's exclusivity deal over the final fantasy series, and they're trying to artificially start an uproar to end the exclusivity. Let's be honest, no modern game except for maybe TLOU2 looks as magnificent as FF7R. Why don't they release how much Rebirth sold worldwide? I bet we'll be singing a different tune. Heck, it probably did so well that it convinced Square Enix they should focus on this more than those other titles.

Probably not, which indicates that you probably didn't read any credible sources pertaining to Rebirth's sales number, but instead you're just reguirgitating what everyone else is spewing without solid proof. Show me a link where it shows the number of sales world-wide for Rebirth. I'll wait! But we all know you don't have the answer to that because again, you didn't read any sources except for YT comment section.

Hopefully they get it together, it's about time they hire some young blood and let the old heads retire.
I think and even trust they'll change it up/regroup and the next mainline FF (excluding XIV) that's new story and characters will be something crazy special.
They have to at least keep the team to finish the FfVIi trilogy
I also can't help but think market oversaturation is a problem. Let's just look at all of what has been released since FFVIIR began.

I can give Intergrade a pass. But it seems like they would have been better off doing this in the years leading up to FFVII Remake and then focus on the trilogy from there on out. Right now things are looking pretty messy. Especially with critical character development that belongs in Rebirth being delegated to Ever Crisis.
I could easily see the average normie getting confused by all this.
a Big problem with games nowdays is not releasing on PC the PC is growing stronger and stronger by day, one reason is because of the sub methods wich in PC you jsut get the game and play not sub needed most of the time jsut to play online for example...
As for FF7 in PC u get the game and even able to mod and no need for other consoles.
AS for me i buy it on PS and also PC wich i know some people will do also.

I disagree that part 3 will sell worst then part 2 because in my opinion and its surprising that I'm the only one saying this but i think it was a big mistake announcing part 3 before part 2 released yeah to us fans it was cool and exciting but from a marketing stand point you just said your game about to release is ending on a cliffhanger and we know what one of the most annoying negative criticisms that has persisted about this project is "WHAT I GOTTA PAY $200 DOLLARS FOR ONE DAMN GAME?" let me ask everybody a question. when square made that announcement that it was gonna be a trilogy how many people saw that and said well i might as well wait to buy it when its fully packaged and finished?
It will sell less because people aren’t interested in Rebirth. Sequels always sell less and FF is a fading franchise already with a small audience.

I have played in years. Ff7r is bloated beyond belief but decent.
I don't know if being more faithful would have solved all the problems with the sales, but I would like to think so. Either way, development of the third part will go smoothly.
Well, Remake did have some absolutely goofy changes. When I play, I have to just block them out.. Rebirth was great.
I wonder if breaking the game apart hurt it as well.
They sealed the deal with Remake.Any walking back they did in Rebirth wasn't going to change anybody's minds on that.

if you make a expensive game, you should expect to break even.
