This is all lore from the original tabletop RPG source material, Cyberpunk2020. There's 50 years inbetween for CDPR and Michael Pondsmith to play with.
The lore is cool, but maybe not the best lore in any universe, for example my favorite lore is Elder Scrolls, but it's hard to compare... In any case, it's still a very good lore.
Yup and in contrast with other franchises this one is like the most plausible to occur as an scenario in the near future, corporations are already in the path of becoming more powerful than countries
A Cyberpunk 2077 Live action series would be monumental on the TV, with the right budget, writing & acting, it would easily become the series of the decade
I thought they’d announced something in the works with the ip a few months ago? 🤔 Maybe I’m getting mixed-up with something else like the Fallout tv series. (or that anime on netflix - the predictable, cheap go-to for most gaming i.p’s)
It really needs to have a good show runner. Someone like Tony Gilroy who did Andor. The acting has to be grounded. No Marvel silly jokes and forced fan service.
We get a hint of what Rhyne did for the city and the loyalty he garnered from people who remember in I Fought The Law. Love how these vids add context to what was hinted at in game.
That's a lazy take there's channels that talk about the corporate wars to nomads even the history of NC but whenever the devs of the game make shit like this it's "oh my God you cures my cancer" all ober again 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@danielnava5917Doesn't matter that they talk about it. The question is, will player of the game watch them. And believe me it is way more likely that average player will be exposed to the lore with these official CDPR videos than videos from small lore channels. The best thing I ever did was read through the Cyberpunk Red source book cover-to-cover before playing 2077. It meant that I had at least some understanding of the lore ahead of time. These videos are perfect for explaining what is a very complex and developed history.
Feel like these should have been in the game for context, ngl I was really lost for a lot of it especially NUSA which I knew nothing about. These cutscenes would have helped so much
@@0spidey1I guess for the average gamer, it's hard to expect them to read all those texts. Watching videos like this takes less effort and is a ton more fun.
@@arinc9 Exactly, I hate when games lazily bury the world's lore in collectibles and codex entries. Like Division 2, that game was all codex and no story. So boring that way!
Cyberpunk does what Mass Effect lost the opportunity to do, which was expand on their lore-rich universe. Whether thru anime, comics, etc. There’s just so much to touch on thru a variety of mediums!
Imagine if these lazy ass devs finally made braindances useful and add it to in-game but they won't because they WILL come up with horse shit excuses like they did for mods on consoles to 3rd person and New game plus like it shows they prefer pc over consoles because they could be fixing console ports
Oh my god, this just keeps getting better and better. I'm going to put these episodes on my favs and keep listening to them over and over. Awesome lore. Awesome story. Awesome universe. We're gonna need a series about this.
What makes this universe so great is how grounded it is. The world feels like it could be our future which is exactly the vocal point of Cyberpunk: not an aspiration but a warning.
@@lsq7833The USSR is still a thing, but it looks much more like modern Russia, so much so that communist principles are abandoned entirely by a revisionist government dominated by SovOil, which is portrayed as a very capitalist corporation.

I love this video series. For someone who did not play the table top version but love the game the history is not fully told in game so this is great! Please do so many more of these.
Oh this is a goldmine for any Cyberpunk TTRPG enthusiasts. The idea of making this lore series was great one, and it will also help us better understand what's going to be happening in Project Orion, i think.
Although I learned about these things in-game, this video explains quite well the Arasaka/Militech and Free states/NUSA conflicts of recent Cyberpunk lore years.

I wish we got more of President Myers in PL. It seems like she was a savvy politician who understood how to work people. We also didn't really get a sense of NUSA's and "Washington's" motivations.
I felt that too, Myers has valid reasons for the things she does. Everyone in this story compromises ethics to achieve their goals, including V. Nobody gets out clean in a Cyberpunk story.
This reminds me of reading the source material and original game manuals from the table top rpg game before the games release, ngl tho I kinda wish there was more retro punk type aesthetic in the game like the original 2020 book
Cyberpunk already has an anime. Now just make it into a series with the same passion as the anime had and we good to go. Having a series telling the story of this world would be amazing
