RULES EDIT:
Although released later this was our first game of fantasy and we mistake a few rules.
The artillery is AP2 deadly 3 but you'd still get a 6+ save regardless.
I forgot fearless on my Giant Rats.
We misplay rending a few times.
really enjoyable game and laid out well - more OPR content would be good as it is really growing right now
Thanks man, I'm really enjoying playing at the moment so im sure there will be more content on the channel, i like to cover all the games im playing at the moment :)
What a great report - and the best wargame out there! More of these please !
Cheers man, yeah its a great system - got some Grimdark Future on the channel monday
Rules edit:
Wizards can only cast spells during their activation not as we had in response to combat 👍
The game is designed so that heroes can't join then unjoin from units - however as per a note from the developer you can decide to do this and it isn't game breaking and we like the option so we'll most likley always do this.
Great game, excellent effect and nice tempo. Just a couple of minor errors: at 17:15 once a hero join an unit you can't leave it; at 23:05 the campion would have routed with his unit. Keep up the great content
@@Federebus Hey thanks - Thanks for the info, Just a note on your note though at 23:05 the unit didn't rout , it was ranged combat and just the 3 plague monks were killed the damage wasn't enough to touch the champion and he did a morale check (because he was part of the unit) - he failed but as it was ranged combat the result can only ever be 'wavered' so I think we played that correctly.
@@GFNGaming Yea, i misread the situation at 23:05, you did the right thing. Once again, great battle report, and keep up the good work
These might be the best battle reports on RUclips. It's so clear what's going on and your production value is next level.
Cheers buddy! thanks for watching
All those square bases are giving me some nostalgia feels.
Yeah man it was a hell of a slog but i got them all off their round bases and onto square ones just in case the old world drags me back in
@@GFNGaming There's also Age of Fantasy: Regiments, OPR's own square-based rank-and-flank game. Same lists and maybe 75% same rules as base AoF, differing in some key areas (particularly movement and how units attack). Enjoying the batrep!
First batrep of yours I've seen, love the style and pace. Readable, clear and concise but with fun and character. Also excellent presentation/ video skills. Thanks 👍
Cheers 🙂 thanks for the kind words
Really enjoy seeing OPR on the channel, keep it up!
Cheers Bradley! they're some great systems - have a grimdark future one coming up for the narrative campaign soon
Loved this more opr content please! Makes for nail biting games. So well balanced in my view!!
Cheers Thomas - yeah i think theyve done a great job with the beta balanced lists
Super editing! Thank you for your contribute to this hobby scene!
Oh cheers Tomas!
Awesome presentation. Very good overview what happens. Please more.
This has been a great video! Thanks so much for making it. I'm also glad you called out the rules you got wrong during play.
Cheers Perram, yeah its a great game - and honestly this was our first game which i think speaks volumes to the pick up and playability of the game, so much fun
A fun replay, thanks !
Wow this is a really well done battle report!
Cheers metalman!
Good batrep! I like the animations particularly. :)
Cheers bud
Really enjoyable, to echo the others here, more OPR is always nice.
Cheers man, thanks for watching
Great production and format for battlereports.
Cheers man!
Get around the wood elves, so cool to see them in action!
....you mean the ratmen though yeah? the Ratmen are cool right? .... I really....I really need to hear it Rhys,
@@GFNGaming Look I got a lot on right now..... we will circle back to this
Good Report! I would enjoy more. If possible at bigger Points! 😁
Those objectives are a bit hard to make out on the table. Good thing you did the handy circle animation for them
Yeah they blended in a bit - had trouble seeing them myself :D
Nail biter!
Yeah It was a pretty close one at the end
Yes!!!
Really awesome battle report! What video editing software do you use?
Cheers, I use adobe premiere pro
Those are some big dice
Dang that's a lot of minis for 1000 points a side!
Ratmen get a nice amount of guys like - the convicts are cheap
Great video, love the channel and the new KT podcast! Got to ask - where does the love for rats come from? ;)
P.S. the comments from Maxim and Tom are posting porn links in terrible German.
Cheers bud! thanks for listening and watching :D Im not 100% sure. i think it comes from my brother who collected skaven when i was little so i grew up seeing them a lot - i just love the models
How do you create those effects for the models stat line.
I use photoshop generally to create the assets then animate them in premiere
are heroes actually essential to this game? didn't notice command rules.
I .... don't actually know. It always fun to run heros but there isn't a 'general' or 'warlord' mechanic that would mean you need one i don't think. The rules are pretty open so im sure you can run armies without hero models
Probably prefer this to AoS, but since I still have all my Warhammer Fantasy stuff I think I’d stick with that. This seems super swingy and without the “to wound” rolls, combat is pretty deadly. I’ll have to give the rules a better read and get a better idea of what was happening.
I was keen to keep going with fantasy but we played a few games and the rules were so fiddly (6th edition) that we spent most games nose in a book do it ended up just not as fun - that being said i love the fantasy world and ive not tried later ediiton or that army projects game so i'd happily try them - or old world when it comes back - will dive into that. You tried Kings of war? i keep hearing good things and some of their skaven/rat folk models look great! i of course mean the ratmen riding qiant rat dog things
Did look at Kings of War. When they dropped Fantasy. Soooo.... many years ago. My brain worked better 20 years ago, and Fantasy was the only tabletop I played, so knowing the rules seemed easy. Kings didn’t grab me. It had something to do with the route/break mechanic. I was cool with units actually routing and being able to recover before leaving the table. Rather than just removing extra models or having the unit simply evaporate. Haven’t played fantasy in many years, so maybe my atrophied brain would reject it now.
Monsterhunter does exactly nothing against your rat ogres since the greatweapons already have ap-2 so an additional -2 wont make a difference 🤷🏻♂️
