Could be an inside job. The storage people have easy access to every unit.

They need better security for storage area. 10 pitbulls guarding it. Now a moment of silent for our comic book brother collector🫡

Would you leave cash in a storage locker? Cause that's basically what he did

Cameras don’t help much when thief’s cover up their faces.

Make sure to report your collection to all the city comic book shops. He won't be able to sell a thing without them spotting them as stolen.

It's the least one can do to attempt some kind of damage control, or continue to be pessimistic.

What is the storage company's insurance when it screws up?

So basically, the fence and camera are for show. They didnt even know which unit was broken into for a week? See how easy it is to steal from this company.... I'm pretty sure it's not the first time or the last time.

Well clearly he is not assuming that a gated facility isn’t secure. And didn’t leave it wide open it was locked. I’m not sure where the ignorance is coming from in these comments it’s like people assume everyone lives in homes and has sprawling condos with storage. There are literally next to no storage closets in new build condos. Maybe this man lives in a trailer park which is less secure than this. Or maybe he lives in a home with other ppl and rents a room becuase a room in Calgary is now $1000 in a SEMI. And landlords tend to keep lockers if they rent now it’s wild. Basements are suites now and not everyone has a garage. So many homes you have to build a garage for an extra $25k +++ here. So there are tons of factors as to why he tried to store them. Maybe be kinder before you know the whole story. Not everyone has safe spaces to keep things in. Or family. Or the affordability to do whatever you are thinking he should have done.

People who store stuff in storage has zero attachment to it. I can’t imagine storing any of my collectables, comic book or sports cards under a strangers roof.

Not everyone has available storage space. Especially living costs these days. 🤷‍♂️

Depends. You never truly know. What if he lives in a trailer and is around ppl that maybe aren’t super trustworthy and has no where safe to keep them and figured that would be safer than a trailer or shared living space? Maybe he can only afford to rent a room in a house. You don’t know. And there are heated storage. I have put my childhood things in protected containers in temp controlled nice facilities. Because I didn’t have anywhere to put it and care deeply for my things to have somewhere to store them. Not everyone lives close or has that. Or can afford to. At the tiny ones being almost $300/month with insurance. He’s got a big one. That would be easily close to $600. Sentinel is garbage but it’s cheaper. But ppl do what they think is best for the circumstances they are given. And is wild to make an assessment like that before knowing more context. If he had a massive 2.4 M Calgary rancher and just thru stuff in there and forgot about it and didn’t care. Okay. But I’m gonna guess it’s not that. Not everyone has a basement. Or even a home. Or even family that is a safe space for things.
