There's actually sort of a way to determine the location (on UE) when getting pinged in the middle of another delivery. I look at the street names. If I don't recognize the streets, I normally decline. I have been able to dodge MANY bullets this way.
Insulated bags are a must but using a heating pad is overkill. Customers should be smart enough to know that any food that's delivered couldn't possibly be as hot at the door as it is in the restaurant. Plus you run the risk of melting plastic bags.
Whats more annoying? Youre delivering at night, You see the house getting closer on the map, as youre rolling up, an order pops up and covers half the screen of the phone and you cant see the map anymore. So you look at the navigation bar that has the adress details with house number. You look outside to see the house and its dark A.F., no porch light on, no street lamps, just a black hole for a house and you cannot see the numbers on the house for verification cause the stupid customer wont turn on the porch light which in most cases will shine directly on the house numbers......😡
Might as well not even put that mark on there...the dude blabs on and on right through the main part and just tells you to hit "go offline" after pickup. I don't recommend that because of add-on orders. They can very easily turn bad deliveries into pretty good ones.
Two things I learn since I started driving for uber eats 1. The moment you accept an order hit the stop new request button immediately because if you don't they'll end up sending you more and 2. If you see an order with a low payout just let the alert ring until someone else gets it. And as and added bonus try to avoid delivering orders to colleges because I've accepted to order and unknowingly to me due to it giving me a different address it had a different address for both but it was at the same place a college. And one of the people I tried to deliver their order to was useless and unhelpful in helping me try to drop their food off to them the other was more helpful. So, try to avoid delivering orders to college and try accepting orders that's close from the pick up and drop off because that will help with saving gas.
Been doing this since day one. But it only highlights how awful the UE app is. Cmon UE update your app , we cant see the second route on double orders , we cant see the route on orders sent while delivering and i have to restart the app after every action its awful
I started using this same strategy. Sometimes, when UE gets slow I bounce in between UE and DD. So if I get an order on either I pause the other app. This way my acceptance rate on both apps are kept high. Thank you for all your helpful tips. I am getting one of the bags!
Stopping new orders from coming in isn't much of a filter and certainly doesn't filter out low paying orders only. You could be denying yourself a baller order that way. Turning off new incoming orders will also prevent you from receiving an additional order added to the place you're already going. Double and tripling stacking is actually a wise strategy because it decreases downtime. And UE actually pays the full amount for a stacked order whereas doordash only throws you a pittance because they figure you're going that way anyway. Unless you're trying to maintain Uber Gold status, don't worry about your acceptance rate. If they throw you a crap order, ignore it or decline. The worst that can happen is they kick you offline after 3 declined orders. But since Uber doesn't make you schedule hours in advance like DD, you can always go back online as soon as you want.
I've gotten into the habit of stopping requests as soon as i get one just because the map won't show the complete route. I may start to hold off and press stop requests when I get to the restaurant just in case they send batch orders but then again that second-order can lead you way off route.
This weekend I got an add on order and made the mistake of accepting it without looking. It was 11 something miles!! The worst part is that the customer only gave me $2!!!!! AND it was way up North and I live South, took me half an hours to get back to my house paying tolls on the highway.
An add on is a rip off because usually the second trips pays you less than it normally would if it was a single order. from what I see Uber saves money from these orders I’m sure they don’t charge costumers less just because driver is already at the location to pick up their first order…. Shifty bastard ubereats
If every driver did this then there would be some customers never getting their food. I'm one that would prefer to focus on one customer/order at a time. I don't believe I'd trust a computer/system deciding for me if I accept an order or not. Such apps need to provide an option to 'pause' another order being offered while working on a current order. Even better, when stacking driving apps, there needs to be a way to 'pause' any requests from coming through when working a current one.
Thanks for this information I hate looking for the address when a new delivery pops up blocking my map and distracting me from driving. I have just been declining the offer. Now I know by pushing the red button this blocks alerts until you are ready to receive new orders. Great Videos Thanks

What I don’t get and this was problematic across all platforms as far as i have witnessed is that the app knows when you are driving and yet they still send the offer. Even worse I have seen from both Postmates and Uber Eats is that you don’t usually get many offers unless you are out currently driving around. This might be there way of keeping the wait time for the drivers to head to the pick up down. As you are clearly ready to drive if you are already driving somewhere. I blame it on drivers that are not very serious about making it a long term occupation. I was hoping it would be different from Postmates to Uber Eats but DoorDash and now that Uber bought Postmates might just say Uber Eats to encompass them both are about equal in driver distraction except that Ubers notification sounds aren’t nearly as annoying.
Oh and I don’t have to switch from my navigation app to accept or deny the offer to be able to continue getting driving instructions in route to the pickup or drop off.

I only go offline when I'm nearing the end of my shift or have reached the monetary goal I set for myself for the day. That way I can tailor my final order (if any good offers come through) to take me a meaningful distance towards home. I don't like the idea of turning them off because order intake can be sporadic, even during busy hours. I'd rather have a quality order for pay and miles to drive to as soon as I finish delivering the one I'm dropping off at the time.

Thanks for zero information. Go back to school
Honestly I can't imagine why anyone would dislike this, this very clear and very helpful, kudos Man 💯 you got a new shout out and recommended from me thank you very much! #DARECRACK..
