Gold Coast & Wests Tigers are way more dysfunctional than Canterbury and have been for quite some time.

@@nunyabizness7259 Since the Gold Coast have come back into the competition (For their 5th go), they have made the finals four times, twice by default, no grand final appearances, no premierships, two wooden spoons, whoever they sign it doesn't seem to work out, they have players who sign and then backflip, back in 2013 they were $34 million in debt and needed the NRL to bail them out, multiple head coaches, seems like a bit of a basket case to me.

They honestly weren't far off. They lost about 5 games at the start of the season by very small margins. This seemed enough to shatter their motivation for the remainder of games unfortunately

I dont get how Benji keeps going back to the club that discarded. They could have had one club players in Farrah and Benji sure their form declined at the end. But if they had better players around them then their experience would have paid dividends.

I think it's important to understand that Benji Marshall and Billy Slater have something in common.
The public had little belief and confidence in Billy Slater pulling off the origin victory, well they had to eat their words and so it is for Benji Marshall.
Benji Marshall is highly underrated. My belief is that he will pull off the unthinkable.
In fact the Tigers club needs him more than he needs the club. I think Benji will be like a saviour for them. Like every team it needs the goods to be in the top 4.
Hopefully Benji calls on prospective new players that will believe in him.

With all due respect to Benji Marshall, he has no real experience with coaching. He hasn’t had the apprenticeship that an assistant coach or a coach of younger players in the lower grade competitions. Certainly, assistant coaches have struggled in their first years as head coach, e.g. Ciraldo Benji has not done the hard yards to be a head NRL coach. While Sheens had a great coaching career in the NRL and internationally he’s done the right thing by moving on. Also I think Buzz picked this one about the hiring of Sheens.
Wayne Bennett was signing him well past his use by date because of his value as a senior player, hes been coaching as a player for a long time.
Wasn’t it Buzz who recommended Sheens takeover last year!

Wests Tigers have been the worst run club in the NRL for over a decade now and it doesn't look like that is changing anytime soon. The great Jack Gibson said "Winning starts at the front office".

So the Chairman of the club is also a partner in the major sponsor? If that isn't a conflict of interest I don't know what is... Brydens aren't going to put pressure on their own principal... Sadly that club needs a complete shake up of the board and ownership to have any sort of success...

They sacked Sheens in 2012, he didn't quite cut in the UK, I got no idea why they brought him back? History is just that.
They were playing better for Maguire... if he had control over the roster they might not get the wooden spoon. The Bulldogs may be higher on the ladder but they didn't even deserve 0 points with their "tackling" last week. Tigers played well against a very good Warriors side.
Mate Madge had awful rosters and never collected a wooden spoon. With this roster, he only improves on that. Did a great job as Kiwis coach at WC. No way he finishes with wooden spoon with this roster.

The 3 bottom dwellars would do well to pay attention to History. Many years ago, two ex-players started their coaching career at Souths and Manly. Both teams endured horrible seasons and the knives were out. Many stuck with their coach.Souths sacked theirs. The Manly coach was Des Hasler. The Manly teams under Hasler went through a mini golden age with several GF appearances and 2 premierships. Souths became a basket case rivaling the current day Tigers, Dragons and Dogs. History teaches a lesson that struggling clubs should learn.
So I am Tigers fan have been since 2011 sadly the board is the problem I do actually see good potential in the Team our issue is keeping them Benji I am glad that he will be coach sooner let's see what he can do let him get full control I'm positive he will do well yes he not experienced but many coaches who are experience do poorly let's see but I believe there is some good players

For heaven's sake he was only a supervisor to Benji. They were very competitive in a lot of games' just lacked the Polish to finish things off. Reckon they will improve' they need a couple of experienced on field leaders. They can make the 8 next season.

Funny enough their best coach they had since 2012 is now 2x premiership winning coach at the panthers i know tigers fans are still upset with the way he left but that is the type of coach they need right now someone like a Ivan Cleary, someone that can bring the best out of the players even beyond their potential like luke brooks i mean he was the coach when he won dally m halfback of the year in 2018 i don't care if people say ohh he paid overs for players that's because he had to because there was no one on the market at that time after they let go of mosses and tedesco which wasn't Cleary decision to let them go and i believe he got the best out of what they had!
