I have an old school dark paladin deck that focuses on setting up 3 pillars; dark ruler ha des to deal with effect monsters, jinzo to block traps, and dark paladin to stop magic. It also plays interesting floating monsters like apprentice magician and troop dragon to stall the game, power paladin, and load spell counters onto the skilled magicians or reload breaker. Here's the deck: Fusion: dark paladin Monsters: Dark magician Buster blader Jinzo Dark ruler ha des King of the swamp Troop dragon x3 Injection fairy lily Apprentice magician x3 Spirit reaper Fiber jar Magician of faith Skilled dark magician Skilled white magician Breaker the magical warrior Tsukuyomi Cyber jar Penguin soldier Magic: United we stand Mage power Polymerization Upstart goblin x2 Swords of revealing light Harpie's feather duster Pot of greed Graceful charity Raigeki Emblem of dragon destroyer Giant trunade Monster reborn Nobleman of crossout Scapegoat Mystical space typhoon Book of moon Traps: Solemn judgment Mirror force I probably will add more traps in as I play more with this deck. It has been pretty versatile for me though.
Im not a fan of fusion gate or terraphorming at 3 and i guess i wouldnt play 3 busterbladers if he's searchable. I think if you would play less cards that are kinda bricky and more generic good cards it would be much more competitive. U should add some staple spell and traps instead of the earlier mentioned cards. And instead of the thunder dragons and the bls id recommend to play some staples like tribe infecting virus and d. D. Warrior lady since the deck has not that many removals, a breaker magical warrior and maybe even skilled dark and white magician since they are good lvl 4's in goat and synergize well with the deck and also kinda count as a searcher for the main combo pieces. I fell like with out them the deck has no good normal summons and it feels like just not using an important resource in a format which is all about resource managing. The deck will still be consistent with 3x polymerisation and 3x king of the swamp since u have the skilled magicians and other searchers but it would be way more viable in competitive duels. I see ur point. Its a fun deck. But even a fundeck can sometimes win against very good decks especially in goay format where its more important to have good resourcemanagement. Im not a fan of playing 3x terraforming in goatformat in general because the duels are kinda longer than today and u are more likely to brick with the third one in later turns where u would need to topdeck some powercards maybe. Its not a bad deck and i dont want to criticise too much but i guess it could get way more wins with some adjustments.
David Behnisch David bring up an interesting idea. How about if after you do the profile you share with us a couple opening hands? I can't visualize in my mind how the monster ratios would play out and sample hands would help me with that. How come you don't use the hex seal fusion monsters? They have a bit of meat in their bums. As for the monster selection, like I said, I won't comment because I can't visualize ratios or anything. So long as you play a couple of twin headed thunder dragons in your fusion deck, I think you can be ok.
@@lorenagarcia8322 nice point. I guess it would be a proper addition to the deck profiles to give some starting hands or even some footage. Adding twin headed thunder dragon would make sense and hex seal too. I agree with you. I overthought my first comment and in the end i think i wouldnt take the thunder dragons out i forgot about the synergy with dark paladin haha xD. But just as i said u could still make it more viable in competitive duels with some little adjustments i guess.
to be fair I have not subjected this deck to real playtesting. I have only played it two or three times and have only nurtured the thought of sharing this prototype of a deck with you. It should launch a discussion on the ratios and card choices and I am thankful for your suggestions. For now I've sticked with only presenting my decks and explaining the card choices and ratios. But if you want to see some test hands I can arrange that for you. Only constraint I have is my free time. Preparing and uploading one deck profile takes about 2 hours. I think I first want to present all of my decks before I go indepth with laying out test hands or revise any deck profile and do an updated deck profile. But if you are really interested in test hand videos (in particular for the Paladin deck) and in doing a revised deck profile (after the discussion on the ratios and the card choices has ended), I will definitely prepone test hand and deck update videos for you. Like I said my schedule so far has been to upload all deck profiles first and then do test hand videos and updates.
supplementing this is the notion that with almost 130 goat decks at my disposal it is impossible to propely playtest each and every deck. Especially considering that it was not until recently that I created most of these decks (I finished the, at least for now, last goat deck in my collection early march this year). I rely on my viewers to commentate and point out the obvious flaws my decks sometimes have. This makes this format all the more interesting. It is always about improving and puzzling with the ratios until the discussion on a deck settles down eventually.
For me it's not about playing a competitive or casual deck because attitude is most important for any activity. With that out of the way, I don't have the ability craft great decks. What I try to do instead is see how much people have considered into the build. The test hand thing was for for that purpose. Once they reveal if such thoughts are casual or competitive, then my questions begin to reflect similar minded issues that I feel need consideration. I enjoy what you do and thank you for it. Can't wait to see how many decks are possible in goat format.
👁 👄 👁 boy Goat technically stopped being goat around Cyber dragon being introduced But people go for as much as the ancient gear golem booster pack But Basically you could say ALL of yugioh DM aka until the very last duel with Yugi vs Yami every card from that show printed is goat How could you be so brave to say that dark paladin wasn’t Goat 🤣 Much love but damn had laughing for a straight 15 seconds
I have added twin-headed thunder dragon to the extra deck for an additional fusion play so it helps a little bit with the „brickyness“
In goat format, there is no fusion deck limit, so you may as well run 3 of every fusion available

I actually like the buster blader allows to combo of the fusion with a substitute more easy :)
Where i can find dark paladin? the first one you take
Dark paladin will destroy any dragon deck
It’s not a goat deck, dark paladin was not allowed
Dark Paladin was allowed at 3 copies and had been around since 2003.
Dark Paladin was released in 2003 in Magician's Force.
Dark paladin came out in MFC, which came out before CRV, therefore making Dark Paladin legal at 3.
