Kojak, the coolest man on TV, next to the The Fonz. That's for real too.

Omg imagine if Kojak met the Fonz in one of the episodes. That would have been epic.

I like the way Val Avery knows he's caught, and Kojak just strolls up the stairs....all calmly...just waiting to give Avery the comeback about the parking ticket...lol

man Theo is soo tough, he does know everything, every step of his plan so he don't have to run. No hurry, put the hat on, straighten the tie and walk slow and comfortable to your target. Boom.
You can only admire the character and Kojak makes it clear that his cleverness and toughness wasnt god given but he had to learn and know the streets. No one messes with him as he always one step ahead.

Plot armor and lowering IQ of criminals don't count.

The 70's lighting is hilarious. A room with overhead lights or a back alley in daylight and there are shadows on the walls. lol

Columbo also not only breaks the rules regarding officers and firearms he actually completely ignores them and never follow those rules and never follows orders to carry a gun and report to the range for shooting practice every so often. He’s never gone after the first year
He not only goes against orders from superiors and ignores and completely breaks the firearm rules and other rules he actually goes as far as to bribe/pay fellow officers to break the rules as well and makes them take his badge and go to the range for him

Him and Columbia are entire opposite as cops with Kojak obviously being the cooler hipper streetwise cop. Yet he’s always by the book and never breaks the rules just bends them to exact point before they break. And he’s 100% not corrupt
Whereas Columbo makes you think he’s completely by the book and never looses his cool and always follows orders… or at least says he will and acts like he’s gonna follow orders but will at times (prob most times before breaking a case) he breaks procedure and goes against orders and actually break the rules frequently and doesn’t have to face consequences cause he does it only if it’ll solve the case.

It's too bad that on all the episodes of Kojak the outdoor scenes are obviously and clearly all back-lot fakery.

Why they didn't check if Kojak is wired? Why they trust in Kojak's greed so much, he's lieutniant, not a low level cop.
Why they agreed that two cops would come if they knew or should knew that the second guy could be wired or could confess as a witness?
