    I have 1880 miles on the OG pint and about 400 miles on the pint x, I’ve had an un countable amount of falls but I just get back up and keep riding.

    I have 600 miles on my pint I just ordered the pint x . what I would say is my comfort level lays between 15-16 miles hr which is at the top of the threshold for the pint.
    Just because u get the pintX doesn’t mean u have to max speed it all the time, but at least u have some extra room at the top to avoid nosedives. Good for thought for new riders

    I got a Pint when they first came out. I was happy with it. I had a really short commute(4.5 miles) to work, and I would just charge it at work for the ride home. A lot of people complained about how early the pushback comes in on the Pint, but I didn't really mind. I had been commuting on a Boosted board before that, and I just had a bad accident, so I wasn't looking to set any speed records. For new riders, I'd recommend checking out the second hand market just to test it out. There's a lot of Pints in my area for around $500-$600. Even a few ppl selling their Pint X's for around $1k. One thing that bugged me about the Pint was the foot pad not activating occasionally when I go to start. It would happen at least once every ride...so embarrassing. I dunno if they've fixed that issue or not. I know TFL has their Surestart product for it. Would be cool if they made the Single zone activation an option like they have with the GT's.

    Wouldn’t be a true Onewheel video without someone getting launched off their OW.

    Is there anyway to recharge the battery if you're on a trail? Like something they sell that you can carry in a backpack you can whip out and recharge the battery with?

    • @GearKnowHow

      I think they sell back-up batteries you can put on the board that charges it as you go.

      1 year late but there was a onewheel hack video, and one of them is charging the board by having one or 2 friends pull you while riding the board will start to charge itself 😂

    The pint is currently on sale for 750. Would you say its worth it or just go with the pint x

    Once you get used to the Onewheel after about 3 or 4 weeks. The distance and the top speed of the Pint is going to make you want to upgrade really quickly. Pints, I realize now, are great for older OR less coordinated people. Or younger, 7 years of age or lower. If you like snowboarding, this is snowboarding on asphalt and nothing is like it. I've ridden for almost 3 or 4 months now and I honestly can't get enough. The 16 miles I get on my Pint X is starting to not be enough for how much I love riding.

    • @paulwillemstein
      @paulwillemstein 2 года назад +7

      Pint requires more coordination than XR and would be worse for older people. The XR type is very flat and stable.

    • @dave4347
      @dave4347 2 года назад +2

      I would also argue the Pint takes more skill to ride than the XR. I’ve seen XR riders that absolutely fall apart on the Pint. And no, Pints are not meant for 7 years and younger despite what you see on RUclips, and I actually would not recommend these for kids. They can be extremely dangerous. They are an adult toy. It amazes me that people think a $1500 board is meant for “kids”. No, it is an adult toy and the price also reflects that.

      Correct I started on a pint x .. when I went to an xr it was marginally easier to ride but the pint is so much more fun

    • @dave4347
      @dave4347 2 года назад +1

      @@jonwivccc7926 Agreed. I’ve ridden both and my personal opinion is the Pint was more “sporty” and fun to ride. For my riding style (80% street 20% off-road) the Pint X is the sweet spot. If I wanted to do more extreme off-roading, it’d be the XR or GT.

    • @jonwivccc7926
      @jonwivccc7926 2 года назад

      @@dave4347 I’m finding the pint x to be winner I’m faster on the x on technical trails has the torque to keep up .. for big open bombs the stability of the xr is better but for tight turns and the extra punch the x has I’m making quicker laps on the x .. east coast trails

      @@boorse barley? It’s over twice as much and it’s 400 more not 5 the pints range 6 to 8 miles pint x 12 to 18 miles and goes 2 mph faster which on the pint x is very noticeable again tbh I would rather just get a euc for that price but if you strictly want a one wheel and don’t want to spend over 2 grand for the gt then get the pint x in onewheels term it’s a good value cause it essentially has the xr specs for less money

    A 8% nosedive I still consider user error.
    Anything under 15% you should already be at ypur destination

    • @GearKnowHow
      @GearKnowHow  2 года назад +2

      Still mechanical failure, but can be avoided if you stop or slow down enough to run off worst case

    • @squishybluecat
      @squishybluecat 2 года назад +5

      @@GearKnowHow Not really Mechanical failure. If you are going too fast when the board has low battery, nosediving is unavoidable. When you are under 10-15% you really have to slow down. Sure, the board does tip up when the battery gets extremely low(under 5%) but at that point you should already be at your destination, as its basically impossible to ride anymore at that point. The reason for the board shutting off at low battery is because the power output of the battery drops when your battery level is low, and therefore the board can't keep you going at those faster speeds anymore. You can't beat physics.
