  • Journey with the vibrant youth and young adults of Laurel UMC as they step into the legacy of the great Queen Salote III, the esteemed Kolisi Ko Tupou, and the prestigious Queen Salote College. Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Siosifa Hingano, this performance for the 2024 Youth Day of California/Nevada UMC Conference and the Siasi Uesiliana Tau'ataina 'o Tonga Vahefonua Amelika mo Hawaii 2024 To’utupu is more than just a dance - it's a profound homage.
Technically recognized as “Faiva Tuifio,” the Tongan mission often lovingly refers to this as "tauolunga." Yet when elements combine, it beautifully transforms into the blended "faiva tuifio." Inspired by the authentic migratory stories of their ancestors' journey to the United States and the enduring impact of Tongan schools in nurturing Christian values and cultural ethos, creative director Dr. Wesley Hingano and leaders have ensured every detail of this presentation resonates with deep reverence and pride.
Dive into this heartfelt journey of faith, tradition, and legacy, all interwoven with the intricate beauty of faiva. 🌟🍃🌺

This is simply beautiful! Is there by any chance I can get a hold of the sound track or get in contact with the person who organised dances please?

Thank you! It was recorded in East Palo Alto, Ca. USA. It was for a youth event for the United Methodist Church. The church I filmed was Laurel United Methodist Church from Oakland, Ca. The event is called To'utupu and takes place every summer.
