    I think you nailed a few things for sure. You need to cover the rear of the transmission with something, like the bumper mount or a rear bumper. The shock caps, rpm front bumper, and the 4x4 bell cranks are a great choice as well. Glad you mentioned the trimming of the chassis. I love my Rustler and other Traxxas 2wd's as well.

      I missed one critical thing, the hubs have bushings instead of beating (at least the xl5 model). That is something that will wear down over time. Thanks for the comment and support Carlos!

    All good 👍 I've just upgraded mine to a little robotronic 3000kv and bearings in bushings out, lowered it a fraction and stiffened up shocks all round, and was pleased tbh its good for 32 mph gets there fast holds the wheelie much better, and the bearings do make it run smoothly, ok 32mph is never gonna touch my vxl rustler, but it's a huge happy controllable increase on xl5 12t, I must get a wider front bumper you are right it really does need it, thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐈

      If you drive anything like me then you'll need the rpm bumper...lol. And yes, bearings are a must. Thanks for the comment and support!

    the rear bumper yes it protect gearbox from direct hits but as its mounted to gearbox it sticks out and get hit earlyer and sending that force eather way to the gearbox.

    • @eekrc
      @eekrc  6 месяцев назад +1

      It has some give to it though, and it definitely provides added protection, it's not super rigid. I would rather have it on than not have it at all, especially when I land on the rear. Thanks for watching!

      I bet...I'm excited to get a brushless setup. How is it to control at those speeds?

    • @aendo723
      @aendo723 2 года назад +1

      i found a rustler 2wd VXL in a dumpster at work a year and a half ago. it already has a venilion motor with the matching heat sink area. i run it on 5000 7.4v 2s lipo battery. low speed is fine and once you get it to full throttle or near that it will be extremely stable on most surfaces. if you accelerate too fast you will spin the tires no matter what speed and you’ll probably lose control for a moment. on concrete or other harder surfaces you have to be careful not to turn too quickly. i took a turn way too fast on a basketball field and ended up bashing it against a pole and snapping the chassis in half

    are the those tires best for going as fast as possible

    • @eekrc
      @eekrc  2 года назад

      Depends on what you are trying to do. If you are talking about speed runs on road surfaces then no, you would want to go with a belted tire like hoons, or something like that. For off road speed the stock tires are good but proline makes better tires in my opinion. Wheels and tires can get expensive so I normally keep the stock ones until I wear them down.

    I have a newer version of the rustler with lights that are stock on it it's a t12 I think I like my lights on the front and I don't drive crazy unless it's a open field or no traffic on my street. I just have a couple if lipo 6200mah 7.4v batteries and a few of the stock batteries with a b6 charger so I van charge all types of batteries. The question I have is, is there any difference from up grading the steering and shocks or should I replace then with the original so I won't have to up grade more parts.?!

    • @eekrc
      @eekrc  Год назад

      I would definitely replace the shock caps, not the entire shocks. The caps tend to pop off when you start running it harder and take jumps. The stock steering is good enough unless you bash it harder. I would just drive it a lot and you will eventually figure out what you need to upgrade based on your driving style. Thanks for watching...and have fun with it!
