I wish that there's a translation patch for this pc-88 version , too bad the pc-88 community isn't really that big so translation patches for games are usually rare
All time classic (and one of my favorite Falcom games)!! Not sure if they're excluded because of their differences, but it also came out for Super Famicom and Sega / Mega CD (arguably the best version, and a gorgeous game in and of itself with a phenomenal arrangement of the soundtrack).
It is indeed one of the best Falcom games. An absolute blast to play (even though the Donkey Kong-esque sequences with the logs is quite annoying). I really love it!
love this game. only beat the sega CD one but i did try out the PC-engine CD and PC98 version wish seem cool in their own way and this one is very similar
I still have to play all versions of this but I can see this being one of the best. Then again, is there a bad version of Popful Mail? I honestly don't think so.
@@Highretrogamelord The unskippable voice dialogue in the CD follow-ups can get pretty obnoxious. They do, however, have a few extra levels that are worth trying.
I never played any version of this game so i found the opening of the game to be pretty weird i mean the opening is mainly just people's heads dropping on the floor but i liked it anyways it's so wacky.Speaking of the actual gameplay though i really like it,this game looks really colorfull, detailed and overall just really nice except the minor scrolling graphical glitch but it's fine and i also like the gameplay of this game a lot the level design and enemy placement is very good,it also plays very well and looks just really fun to play and because it is a PC-88 Falcom game the music is fantastic and very high quality(by the way the sprites of the characters in this game remind me a lot of the Sega Master System Wonder Boy games)
Oh, regarding the opening, that's because those two are exploding golems who explode when their heads fall off. They were created by the criminal, Nuts Cracker, who Mail is trying to collect the bounty for...but that goes wrong and his head falls off and his body (without the head) escapes instead. And yes, this game is a must-play.

I also love this game. Only played the SEGA CD version and this one. But I assume the other versions are awesome as well.
I had no idea this version existed this is great!
I love the PC-88 version of it. Easily one of the best PC-88 games for me and a must-have for any PC-88 owner.
@@Highretrogamelordgood thing this is coming to switch
For some reason, of all the versions of this game, this one is my absolute favourite :)
