this song makes me think of not only my dad's, but also my best friend. when I was little my parents divorced and after I was six I never got my goodnight from my dad's anymore. best friend because she moved across the country and when we have our 'facetime sleepovers' we tell each other "goodnight best friend. I love you. forever and always." Oath by Cher is also our song

As much as I loved the "old" brat, I think (and expect!) myself and her fans have grown with her, and can now appreciate the beautiful melody and meaning of songs like this, and I really hope she keeps writing similar stuff and carving her way to becoming an amazing and respected artist I already know she is.

Lyrically this isn't the best song and the arrangement isn't that complex either, what makes it hers and fantastic is the sincerity in her voice. wish she would stick with this sound. Johnny cash had a very sincere voice and people loved him for it, they could love her too.
