I think the Pano's fall off on the edges gives it a more 'dreamy-cinematic' feel, and the extra grain isn't too bad. I really liked the pictures and I love the price tag even more

I know, camera gear is weird because it’s usually only a 10-15% quality increase, for 500x the money… it doesn’t make any sense…

Love the video, only thing I'd recommend is maybe to shoot the same film stock in both for a more fair comparison (the Pix was going to get crushed at full crop regardless, but grain might have been less of a problem with Portra). Either way, entertaining video as always, I look forward to the next one!

Good point Joey! We’ll get around to doing a much more in depth video on it some day! This one i think you could look at it from an expensive set up with the Xpan with Portra vs the all around budget option, pix pano with Ultramax 400. And see what the differences are! Thank you watch dude!! 🤘🏼📸

Is it wrong that I like the photos from the $10.00 camera better? I picked up an old point and shoot at a yard sale for 25 cents. It's a favorite of mine to shoot with.

Image quality wise (sharpness, grain etc): no question XPan is the winner.
But I think some of images shot with the Ansco Pano are still very usable, as long as not for huge prints. After all, what really matters is the man behind the camera.
This video makes me think there's no equivalent XPan alternative. By "equivalent", I mean:
    - It shoots 65x24
    - It's still reasonably compact like XPan (with a built-in rangefinder)
    - It's an interchangebale lens system.
Practically all the alternatives I see fails on at least one of them.

Brilliant, why having a 5k$ cam, if "similar" pics can be done with a 10$ equivalent. Of course, the Hassi is a Master of its class, but for fun, the Ansco does ist easily 😉

not having money ain't something new. 1973 I bought a Yashica 35mm for $75. dang that put a dent in my beer money and meals at the local college. still love a cheap film camera if only for the "Tankness" of the build.
