Turbo flutter may sound cool…but, it actually damages the turbocharger and reduces It’s lifespan, as air resonance (flutter) caused by back pressure/torque against compressor spindle reduces manifold pressure and increases intake temperatures, due to turbocharger needing to spool harder just to maintain the same boost level and horsepower/torque across power band. The reason why dual-port diverter valves are adjustable to bleed off excess back pressure in air intake between throttle body and turbo compressor outlet; while still maintaining enough boost pressure in intake to keep turbocharger spooled when changing gears etc.
