Batman works best at a street level. It showcases all his attributes. His martial arts, his brains, his gadgets. His strict no kill rule. There’s honestly two main reasons Batman doesn’t kill. The one he tells himself is that if he crosses that line, he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to stop. The other one is that deep down, he believes in a sacredness to all life that stems from his father being a doctor. It doesn’t matter how monstrous, a life is a life, and Bruce doesn’t believe he has the right to infringe upon nature like that. He is not an executioner, just a man trying his best to stop any more kids from experiencing what he did.
