These are her older songs, a nice 2nd gen sound still present. Her newer stuff has more modern sound but she is very consistent with this power ballady style. I sent you some recommendations for her newer MVs, the one featuring Wheein is criminally underrated.
LOL. Trust me; you're not the first grown man to cry over Don't Cry. If you look through comments sections, you'll find a varied range of people touched by that song. I had excuse though, I was nineteen when it was released. LOL. If you want to watch a live performance of Bom, definitely their concert, 2NE1 - The First Concert - NOLZA. She guest featured her pro cellist sister, Park BoGeun.
Great reaction! Try Park Bin’s Spring and Remember music videos. They both also have very deep messages however the song writing and production has definitely improved and is more deep. She’s known for having deep Pop/RNB songs. Spring is really personal for her, she went through a deep depression after being a scapegoat for government corruption in 2014 calling her a drug smuggler for using legal medicine, it’s about her depression and wishing for Spring (happiness) after a long winter (depression).
Also these two music videos are Part 1 & 2 of the love story. You and I is the love song (he dies at the end) and Don’t Cry is about moving on from grief.
Early 2010s was such an interesting time for music because, arguably those years had some of the best music ever. Both Western and Asian. Definitely had some of the most memorable melodies. This was also during Kpop's 2nd generation which was notably dominated by three producers: Brave Bros, Teddy Park and Shinsadong Tiger. Teddy was the in-house producer of YG Ent and the producer of these songs and most of 2ne1's song (Bom's group) but SHINSADONG TIGER takes the cake for having written some of the best (Pop) songs I've ever heard. Him and Teddy were known for writing really angsty, passionate lyrics (Hiphop backgrounds) juxtaposed over a very danceable and catchy Pop melody (bassy and synthy). I even used to call Shinsadong Tiger the Max Martin of SKorea because of how he emulated a lot of his discography, especially Britney Spears' (evidence: T-ara, HyunA). Made a short list of a few suggestions with the same vibes or "genre" as Don't Cry. from Teddy: 2NE1 - Go Away (the closest I could think of based on what you "like") SE7EN - Somebody Else BIGBANG - What Is Right BIGBANG - BLUE Seungri - White Love from Shinsadong Tiger: EXID - Every Night 4Minute - Heart to Heart BTOB - Irresistible Lips B2ST - Fiction B2ST - Midnight T-ara - Lovey-Dovey Secret - Talk That by other producers: G.Na - Black and White AOA - Get Out After School - Shampoo TRAX - Oh My Goddess MYNAME - Message
형 덕분에 오랜만에 듣네 박봄만 생각하면 마음이아프네
