Why choose if you can live in both 😅. I’m a Malaysian living in Dubai for 20 years already. Both cities certainly can compete and have certain edge over another in some areas but certainly both are very livable cities if you earn reasonable income but what Dubai cannot beat KL is being able to eat out 3-4 times a day and the large variety of affordable food.

If you're Asian - Japanese, Chinese/HKer, Korean, Australian South East Asian, KL is the best place in Asia to setup as base including businesses. KL can be a 10mil metropolis in fact it's already 8+mil people as there are ample lands to expand, with very high livability standards at good value and top Asian talents/labour. Furthermore, KL public transport is already very comprehensive with the most modern trains in the world. More to come.

Kuala Lumpur is not just a modern city but it mixes traditional, colonial ,modern buildings and also forest in Kuala Lumpur. If you explore more about Kuala Lumpur or see other RUclipsrs on Kuala Lumpur and other states of Malaysia you will see Kuala Lumpur is hidden gems and underrated also has many things to offer compared to Dubai.

I prefer KL, Malaisia for tourism, and because right to the south, Johor Barhu is a good option to leave, for those who want to go easily in Singapore. Dubai, i don´t even give 1 cent... No way!
KL is the hub that allow u to jump off into Thailand, Bali & other parts of Indonesia, Vietnam, Borneo (Malaysian parts, Brunei). Dubai ? Maybe jumpoff point into Turkey, Iran, max. Other parts of arabia are well...less travel-able.
Hai Danny..for your info Dubai was built and this ideas is came from Malaysia former Prime Minister DR. MAHATHIR given a suggestion to UAE prince and this is happen now..beautiful city
Yeah, even Dubai Park and musical fountain is very similar to KLCC Park and musical fountain but only on a very larger and grander scale. However, KLCC park has been built for ages back in the '90s.

Interestingly, Dubai size of economy is quite similar to Klang Valley. Based on latest statistics, Dubai GDP is ~US$200bn while Klang Valley is also US$180+bn. My bet both these regions will double their GDP in the next 8 - 10 years.

I'm a UAE expat living in Dubai for 15 years, and my husband grew up here. This is our home. This place gave us the life and opportunity more than one could ever ask for. @Cheng Ong. I have to laugh when you said “…. Malaysia is not far behind….”, Dubai was relatively unheard of when Kuala Lumpur was already a vibrant city. It’s only in recent years that Dubai came up, all thanks to the oil money they have.
@@kn3289 I think you are more laughable, what he said is true. Klang Valley/KL economy is almost US$200bn now with population of 8+ mil people. Furthermore, Klang Valley/KL is definitely greener, no desert remember?
@@leealex24 I do agree with you with your statement. Before Dubai was a rich country we Malaysia was the one faster growing country in the world in the era of Tun Mahathir before we fell down on politics. Dubai becomes rich because it has more oil. Dany, thanks for visiting KL on numerous visits. KL, Malaysia, is still a developing city, country. U can see a mix of everything, past, present n future in its own vibes, charm n beauty. It's still affordable in many ways. But not far in d distant future, Malaysia is heading to become a developed country, supposedly as planned in Y2020, but it didn't happen, for good I guess. D majority of d workers r middle n low income group, many rural parts of Malaysia r more or less, being considered as d 3rd world. By d time Malaysia is fully developed, d cost of quality living will significantly increased, n many things that r still cheap n affordable in KL, would probably cost more. I wonder how much would be d RM1 popsicles u n Byanca loved so much would cost in Y2030. D next time u r in KL, buy a box of those lovely popsicles n keep it well in your fridge in one of your fav luxury apartments in KL. I know that u don't like my lengthy comments, but I just want to share my thoughts too.
@@leealex24 Yes, KL in terms of luxurious experience is still in d affordability category, but d same cannot be said for other cities like New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore etc. 😀

Kuala Lumpur is way way richer than I expected. When I visited I was extremely suprised by the amount of Ferraris Lambos Bentleys RR I saw around. The insane amount of designer stores as well. I literally saw like 7+ LV locations, I saw Prada, givenchy, Prada, loro Piana, Richard Mille, Rolex, etc. tons of Luxery hotels as well with more more and opening. Park Hyatt is opening a location on top of merdeka 118.
For sure the first time I visited KL it felt like home. It's a shame the "Malaysia as a second home" program was so expensive. Dubai, is closer to Europe, so closer to Europe's time zone (if you have to work). So, perhaps buy property in Dubai and rent it out, and spend the money in KL. 🤔
Without watching the video, I’m not sure why there would be a comparison between the two cities? Dubai is in the middle of a desert in the conservative region of the Middle East. KL is in the middle of South East Asia, where it’s affordable for everything, specifically the accommodations, food and transportation. I assume the only comparison between KL and Dubai is they both have modern skyscrapers? 🤷♂️ It would make more sense if you were to compare living in KL to Bangkok or maybe even KL to a European city. But KL to a city in the Middle East? 🤔
@@faisalz8849 OK, but I personally don’t get the appeal of Dubai? It looks like an interesting place to visit, with futuristic buildings, but I would never consider living there. As I said, you’re in the middle of the desert 🐪 and the culture would be too conservative. In KL, you’re a cheap flight from going to other places around South East Asia. There’s no comparison!

Purchasing power in Malaysia is not that high with their local salaries. And if you want to travel places then you somewhat need a bit higher salary to explore other countries.
@@technicalroy7068 if you’re talking about purchasing power due to currency exchange maybe, but because of low cost of living especially rent which takes a big chunk of the salary, Malaysians have reasonably larger disposable income. In Dubai you have to earn 3x more to be able to live the same lifestyle as a KLite. I live in Dubai

Dubai also nice, great building but i prefer kl asia food, thailand food and island phi phi island, krabi island, malaysia also have nice places to go more divercity n lower cost living n people also nice.....but all country have pro n con not all perfect
I lived in both cities, and i still live in Dubai. KL is much better when it comes to food and the freshness of the ingredients. I consider my self as a health counciouss person so for me to have a fresh salad, fresh fruits is very important. If you are into Japanese cusine, the salmon sahimi quality is much higher in KL than in Dubai and it cost half price. The nature is of course more beautifull in KL also. On the other hand where would I invest my money on the long run? It’s Dubai. Better Banking and also on your property investments higher returns…
Nice video. Wouldn't really classify KL as 'up and coming'. Perhaps in the 80s, but it's past that stage and yet still growing tremendously. Definitely underrated. Good all round city in a beautiful country. Good all round quality of life and value for money. Dubai is not really comparable as it's quite an artificial creation in a region with lots of restrictions and curbs on freedom.
The only thing I will say, is Kuala Lumpur is the mix of poverty and immense wealth is very strange in way. For example in downtown KL I was surrounded by designer stores, Luxery hotels, literlly Lambos and Ferraris. But in three exact same place I saw a street fight, prostitute, and sketchy looking people. It’s so weird. Like this place is oozing money and Luxery and you’ll still find this sketchy scenarios. Like there will be sketchy looking people and prostitute just one block away from a ritz Carlton and there will be a street fight as someone walks by to his literal Ferrari.

Greetings from England.
Malaysia UNESCO city natural is Malaysia many UNESCO Sabah,Sarawak, Penang, Melaka..rain forest city...old rain forest in the world..
I choose Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ❤️🇲🇾✌️☺️
Mr. Dany,These two remarkable cities are the “World’s BEST Cities” on the globe today’s with thousands of tourists goes there for visits year round to see the “World’s 2 Tallest Buildings”.I am planning to learns French & Arabic languages from Babble❤❤❤
Going back to KL in 2 weeks 🙂
I prefer KL, Malaisia for tourism, and because right to the south, Johor Barhu is a good option to leave, for those who want to go easily in Singapore. Dubai, i don´t even give 1 cent... No way!
KL is the hub that allow u to jump off into Thailand, Bali & other parts of Indonesia, Vietnam, Borneo (Malaysian parts, Brunei). Dubai ? Maybe jumpoff point into Turkey, Iran, max. Other parts of arabia are well...less travel-able.
Dubai is expensive, in KL you can get everything at variable of prices so KL for me.
Dubai has also very different prices depending on part of town. Most just don’t know.
What would you choose to live between the two.
Hai Danny..for your info Dubai was built and this ideas is came from Malaysia former Prime Minister DR. MAHATHIR given a suggestion to UAE prince and this is happen now..beautiful city
That is a very interesting statement. I wonder how this happened.
Yep... Dubai and Kuala Lumpur are twin cities..
Yeah, even Dubai Park and musical fountain is very similar to KLCC Park and musical fountain but only on a very larger and grander scale. However, KLCC park has been built for ages back in the '90s.
@@miorf82 Yes, KLCC project started in 1993 n completed in 1998. 😄
In KL you can have a Dinner Buffet as low as 100 Ringgit in some hotels
Dany, I suggest you make a score roughly of 1 to 10, from ten Cities in Asia that you have visited, which one is the most worth to visit !
Your evaluation is valuable for our reference if we are going to make a tour around Asia !
Thank you
As I am from KL definitely KL is my choice and the languages I speak besides English are Malay, mandarin ( also Cantonese, Hokkien, a bit of Hainanese, Hakka and Indian Tamil)
Multi cultural and multi lingual
If you're Asian - Japanese, Chinese/HKer, Korean, Australian South East Asian, KL is the best place in Asia to setup as base including businesses.
Yes..KL win So much in term of cultural diversity...Can experience Most world Major Cultural Chinese, malays,Indian,Arabs, western and etc...
@momanasideka3962 Nope, SG is not sustainable. Btw, why are you commenting here? This is nothing to do with SG.
@Momana Sideka Wooooooo Proud by yourself 😁😁😂😂
i`m Malaysian , maybe western people doesnt know that Malaysian loves to go to Dubai , Dubai before it was the luxury city and fancy tower today its already famous for shopping heaven since the 90s for Malaysian Muslim that travel for umrah in middle east .. it was a shopping heaven before we going home. We bought accessories , cloth , perfume and many others arabic culture product there. maybe u need to explore the old part of dubai more. both city is good in their own way.
KL as for now is consider safe for foreigners. Even most local very friendly. The city also green. Dubai got most beautiful and neat city.
Interestingly, Dubai size of economy is quite similar to Klang Valley. Based on latest statistics, Dubai GDP is ~US$200bn while Klang Valley is also US$180+bn. My bet both these regions will double their GDP in the next 8 - 10 years.
Love these two places both! So hard to choose! 😅🎉😂
Both!🙏🏻☺️
I think if you are an Asian, you will definitely more interested or comfortable in KL. That's 100% sure. It has combination of Chinese, Malay, Indian and also influences from Japan, Korea etc.
Malaysia most visited country in South East Asia with 26 million visitors from Jan to Oct 2023...thank you for visiting Malaysia is Truly Asia....
Mr. Dany,These two remarkable cities are the World’s BEST Cities with the “World’s Tallest Buildings” where tourists around the globe travels year rounds.I am definitely planning to visits these two remarkable cities in Southeast Asia & the other in the Middle East to visits in 2025.
True Asia - Malaysia 🇲🇾 ❤😊👍👍👍
I loved and frequently visited both cities but for me it has to be KL although I don't mind living in Dubai as well
I am very proud of the description and title you discussed. Freedom while exploring the world is the best aspect to be placed as the main reason we explore. Thank you for providing a constructive opinion of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia. Good luck on your next journey and I hope you return to Kuala Lumpur again. Enjoy 😜
I love Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
I like Kuala Lumpur than Dubai
I'm a UAE expat living in Dubai for 15 years, and my husband grew up here. This is our home. This place gave us the life and opportunity more than one could ever ask for. However, we are also mesmerized by Malaysia, especially KL. We are working on a plan to retire there, but unfortunately, we heard that the PR visa is getting harder to get. We hope it will get better.
Selamat datang ke KL 🇲🇾 I am Sarawakian Indigenous Native from Borneo East of Peninsula KL,I live in KL past 28 years 8 months at the age of 19 I left Borneo move to KL for work.I work in private healthcare services here in KL between I have lots of colleagues, friends and Family working in Saudi Arabia for many years now, mostly in private medical healthcare services in Saudi.Making more money 💴 😊 some come back to KL for good ❤ What I like about KL is the Public transportation superb, amazing make life easier moving around.Super fast!
Enjoy KL and Stay Safe 🇲🇾
No doubt Dubai is more modern. But Malaysia is not that far behind cause we got more green here and is more affordable for western to travel here. Malaysia is developing fast. Malaysia is always welcome anyone here.
Interestingly, Dubai size of economy is quite similar to Klang Valley. Based on latest statistics, Dubai GDP is ~US$200bn while Klang Valley is also US$180+bn. My bet both these regions will double their GDP in the next 8 - 10 years.
Dubai is a fake city, most buildings are new there. KL is a more Western and historical feel.
Hence, Dubai and Klang Valley economy is almost the same now so, it's definitely not far behind, in fact, Klang Valley may already bigger.
Imagine if Malaysia did not fall down cause of politics and it has no oil we still can be top of Dubai and South Korea.
I am honestly shcoked that people are comparing kuala lumpur to dubai 🤯
KL dah level tahap tu ..😌...cintailah Ibu kota kebanggaan kita..
Sekurang2nya dia Tak sebut KL VS Jakarta kalau tidak beribu Komen dari seberang

Absolutely KL 10000%
Noooo. The extréme heat is the only downside of Dubai, aside from that, Dubai is a thousand mile ahead of KL.
Nice video! I liked also KL very much even I spent few time there :) but for sure it's worthy to analyze more
Love the city view with green lush mountains as the background.
Dubai : plastic
KL : organic
But Both are great in their own way.
Nice video on kuala lumpur wish to go there someday take care always dany so very hot here in the philippines today😢😍✌🙏
I choose Kuala Lumpur because the city are more green. Green is the future!
My choice is KL, their Nature, island is world class
Love Dubai (been 5 times before and going again in November) and stay in the Marina/JBR area. Going to KL for the first time in January 25 so really looking forward to that already. Seriously thinking of escaping British winters and spending longer periods in both cities when I retire in a few years all being well.
I think you need a friend in KL to take you around and understand it better... next time you're in town mate, hit me up. Cheers and safe travels!
Just simple answer - dubai is better for travel but kuala lumpur is better for living because kl is the most underrated city
Taxes and easy visa application is what makes Dubai stands out
Thanks for this absolutely wonderful video n for sharing your thoughts n insights, between travelling to, living in Dubai or Kuala Lumpur.
In terms of luxurious experience, probably Dubai is d clear winner, n in terms of affordability experience, KL is definitely d winner.
@@Yasin_Affandi Actually, KL offer luxury too, affordably. Isn't that better?
@@leealex24 Yes, KL in terms of luxurious experience is still in d affordability category, but d same cannot be said for other cities like New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore etc. 😀
@@Yasin_Affandi Exactly, so, why pay more? Unless you are a very high net worth individual, with more than US$50mil of money to spare, this matters, in fact, matters a lot. KL is perfect for people who are quite rich, but, not like the rich tycoons. In fact, that's is how it's reflected in the MM2H requirements. I would think KL is perfect for those with net worth of US$5mil - US$10mil.
I like both coz this two are Islamic countries that make me easy to choose halal...for me, visit Dubai and stay in KL is a possible right way in term of cost living
KL is to Aus and NZ as Dubai is to UK and Europe. It's close enough to escape and experience an awesome cultural difference.
It would make more sense if you were to compare living in KL to Bangkok or maybe even KL to a European city. But KL to a city in the Middle East? 🤔
Both cities are luring digital nomads and international startups.
@@jeffryan7262 I’m a Malaysian and I’m living in Dubai for 20 years. Touring a city and living in one is two different thing. Both cities are very liveable cities in the world and have their strengths.
@@faisalz8849 Dubai is still in the middle of the desert 🤷♂️ I respect that you choose to live there, but it doesn’t look like an appealing place to live. Just my opinion!
Both are up and coming global cities. Also, it's very appropriate to compare one in asia and one in middle east.
Malaysia Is better culture more open minded.
WHY CHOOSE ? BOTH =)
People made that comparison in the past before COVID-19. I am sure Andrew Henderson did that (nomad capitalist) . But at that time mm2h was good. Now we only have de rantau visa for digital nomads.
that the purpose , maybe, with the issues like rohinya and Burmese kedah speaking malay.. hope that the issue is resolved some day and environment for mmh is better soon
KL is top tier. U have Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam within 1-2 hours cheap plane ride from KL if u need short vacations.
You can live in Malaysia only and only if you work remotely and get paid us or eu equivalent salary. Malaysia has a very very low salary.
That’s what I advocate for 👍🏼
Purchasing power is guaranteed. That is your meaning
Not that Very very low lahhh.....
Dubai = sunakagure / sand village
Kuala Lumpur = konoha / leaf village
Looks like naruto is somewhere in kl eh 😆
Awesome video ❤❤❤
Asean big 5 capitals are superior in terms of ease of travel, fun, nightlife etc
Not all buddy. Not everyone is equal to dubai or Singapore.
@@keangwooichoo6138 Singapore is a technocratic nightmare
What cities?
KL wins😍
Hay Dany, I saw you again from Davud's video in Sri Lanka. I remembered you in old videos...But I just now subscribed to your channel. Like to see you more... you look great and present well...
For me these three cities have their own advantages and one of the best to live
Had bin watching your videos for quite sometime.. amazing ones !! great voice young man , you sound too good..❤
Been to Dubai.. 1 lunch meal in Dubai equal to RM50 🥴
😭😭😭
Mu make gapo maha lagu tu??
Tobe honest comparing KL and Dubai still far far away. But KL underrated still and should be appreciated more…
Love your videos ❤️❤️
Rainforest, multicultural and warm and welcoming and affordable. Kuala Lumpur is diffinately the place to be ❤
Dubai is more multicultural though
I am very very curious how can you flew a drone in both cities without being caught ?Don’t tell me you’ve got a pre-approved permit before you fly.
i have been to dubai but sorry dubai has the glitter but extremely hot haha
i prefer KL
And PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS..also is ideas from TUN MAHATHIR a former PM..
*Malaysia MORE 💚💚💚*
KL is better
Work in Dubai and other countries for a few years and then retire in KL
Modern lifestyle Dubai
Cost of living KL
Food KL
Nature KL
Culture KL
Healthcare KL
I prefer any city with older ,greener in every way.
