  • Episode 594:
In this episode of The Bible Guys, we explore 1 Kings 14. We discuss the story of Jeroboam, the king of Israel, and the dire consequences he faces due to his disobedience to God. Jeroboam's wife disguises herself to seek a prophecy from the prophet Ahijah regarding their sick son, Abijah. Ahijah, however, reveals that God has pronounced judgment on Jeroboam's family for their idolatry and wickedness.
The hosts dive into the gravity of God's message to Jeroboam, emphasizing that he has done more evil than all previous kings. They reflect on the significance of God's justice and the importance of making the right choices, drawing parallels to the choices we face in our own lives. God had previously offered Jeroboam the chance to establish his dynasty if he followed Him faithfully, but Jeroboam's persistent rebellion led to his downfall.
We discuss the nature of God's mercy and justice, the consequences of sin, and the importance of turning back to God in times of trouble.
God's justice can be severe, but His mercy is always available to those who turn back to Him. Subscribe and tune in next time!

When we worship false gods like Jeraboam lead the country to do, it only HURTS us because the enemy of our souls hates us and only wants to destroy. I think that’s what breaks God’s heart-seeing his children make choices to hurt themselves.

I am using my thousand and thousand of points on a Large Coke at McDonalds!!!! I really wish Biblical names were so much easier. I know that the reason that I just can't retain so much of the Old Testament is that I can't pronounce the name which makes it impossible to relate.
