the system is acc so broken its a joke.. seeing the excellence emrging from Brampton Manor has somehwat settled my spriti regarding this whole situation but its still a major crisis. one of my boys just about got into his second yr of sixthform, i could tell he was distraught but was tryna firm it. Im glad i missed all of this by starting My Engineering apprentichesip this year.
I think the problem is the government. It all started in 2010, when conservative got elected. Then they tripled uni fees along Lid Dem and also stopped EMA (weekly allowance for college/sixth form students to cover expenses if they meet certain criteria). These changes hurt people from ow income backgrounds. Back then I was young so I didn't understand, but when actually going to sixth form something like EMA could've helped me achieve higher. I feel sorry for the kids now because the government fails them again. It's not a labour conservative discussion, I just don't think no one really thinks about people from low income backgrounds when coming up with lows, the way they gave the grades is definitely affecting those people again. Sorry for the paragraph, I don't even usually comment
0:41 Wouldn’t the EU Settlement Scheme give EU students living the UK for over 5 years the right to pay UK fees rather than international fees post-Brexit?
Mr200m oh wow. If this is apparently the case, then the UK Gov has lied to all EU citizens promising that the scheme will give EU citizens living in the UK over 5 years the same rights as UK citizens 🤯
The thing is ... U.K. students studying in the EU have always had to pay international fee prices , such as myself .... so it’s never been a fair system tbh

Apparently this is in contention I found out today from an Immigrations officer directly who herself is affected by this
