Glad to see your comment. I worked at Magic Mountain when I got out of the Army in 1986. My brother runs the glass blowing shop. I lived in Newhall. Saw Chuck Berry and the band Stryper. Of course not on the same bill. Best times ever.
My favorite song of theirs and DANG, they killed it here. Strong live band, tight delivery, great writing, and the sound is excellent as well! Good show!
I was 16 Years, when me and a Friend saw them on 10th of May, 1981 in Germany, Dortmund Westfalenhalle 3. We didn't expect the stewards to let us in, but somehow it worked. Still remember the tremendous and excessive Show of Fee Waybill and his talented Dancers. White Punks on Dope ! 🤘
I just bought the album this is the lead track on -- The Completion Backward Principle -- and gave it a spin on my turntable last week, having never heard the whole LP all the way through before. Great album! I was like 10 when this came out but remember it well on the radio back around '83. Fee Waybill and all of them sound terrific!
My mate went see them in Bristol (England) and stayed at same hotel and had supper and breakfast with them , he’s a massive fan thanks to him so am I,i love this band along with genesis .
Have to agree with all the comments and compliments. Fabulous band - great musicians / extremely tight / pretty hard rockers live but very inventive and musical. The only thing I didn't see mentioned was what a unique and riveting show they put on while not missing a beat.. Possibly ( apart from Little Feat) one of the best bands I've seen - I was lucky enough to see them on two or three occasions @ home in Newcastle England - they were much appreciated by a very enthusiastic crowd and always went down a storm. It's great hearing live music from way back when that still stands up now.
I remember playing this song with my band in the early 80's at a club called Blondies in Detroit. Interesting mix of big hair chicks and punk rockers on the dance floor, all good. 😁
A totally infectious and energetic song written by Fee Waybill, Steve Lukather and David Foster. The song was written backwards, meaning it was around the title. Loved The Tubes! 👊
Saw The Tubes (again) here in Omaha on July 8th of 2022. Fee was born here in Omaha. My son and I had VIP tickets ....We got to go to the pre-show party, rehearsal, front row table and great after-party. I had great conversations with Fee, Prairie Prince, Rick and Roger. I decided to be original and had them autograph 2 one dollar bills. One helluva show.
Fucking love shit like this. Great time for music. The tubes were a classic rock band. Love the bald spots on the players. A time when musicians could just focus on the music and not their looks.
I love this song 🎵 ❤️. Great song that people can actually relate to,when being in a clingy or possessive relationship, you tell them I'll talk 👄 to you later.
As a fellow fan, it's a stretch that Steve L (who IS a musical genius) put the band on the map. They had so many other great songs he didn't write. If anything, White Punks On Dope put The Tubes on the map.
Steve Lukather from Toto wrote the song and did all the guitar solos on the original recording. Since he didn't tour with them you'll never hear that kick ass guitar work live. He also did She's a Beauty.
You really can't beat this stuff. For musicianship, musicality, etc. Playing this takes well takes musical talent. What happens when you don't have talent and you're not willing to put in the time to gain the skills ? You get rap. You just lower the bar. Sad.
HAVE NOT HEARD THIS IN 25 YRS. WHAT A TREASURE!!
Saw the Tubes at Magic Mountain in CA in 83, What a fun time. Great concert. Slept 10 of us in a bronco II. Times were better then.
I use to laugh when my grandparents would say "those were the days". Now I understand...

KICK ASS BAND. WOW!! Saw them live back in the day. Totally awesome musicians.
They're on tour now, and they STILL kick ass! Just saw 'em in Portland OR a couple of weeks ago. Fee, Roger and Prairie are looking great!
You must think Donny Iris was God if you like this stuff
My favorite song of theirs and DANG, they killed it here. Strong live band, tight delivery, great writing, and the sound is excellent as well! Good show!
This is actually better than the original recording.

White Punks on Dope ! 🤘
This takes me back 40 years. Long live The Keystone in Palo Alto!
Remodeled or rebuilt ??

So much energy! Love that guitar solo! They sure put on a great show!
Best live band now and still gigging ,still stunning live !
Great sound, probably the best live version i've heard.
This song never gets old and the video for it is the best.
Such an awesome song still sounds great live now!!
Solid live performance! Thanks for the upload.
The Tubes are in my Top 5 Favorite Artists of all time, one of their best songs this song was #7 on The Mainstream Rock Charts in 1981!
It'sprobably the best live version on video I've seen, great stuff,Tube's rocked!!
Look kids these lads can both play and sing very well ,what a great tune!
If I’m not mistaken, Steve Lukather was the guitarist on the original recording. This fellow on guitar did it serious justice! Excellent job!
THE COMPLETION BACKWARD PRINCIPLE album is a prize possession of mine.
Great vocal her by Mr. Waybill, considering he is jumping around.
Best Afro / Mullet combo I’ve ever seen! And great lead vocals to boot!
Saw them back in the day at the Reindeer Lodge going up towards Lake Tahoe. What a memory.
Have to agree with all the comments and compliments. Fabulous band - great musicians / extremely tight / pretty hard rockers live but very inventive and musical.

Wow!!! Live!!! This band's on fire!!!!

They are from Arizona 😊me tooooooo❤:)
Bands that play live are awesome!
awesome live version. They’re tight
I think it was 1974 and my first concert wow what an experience
So you must've seen their " what do you want from live" tour, I saw them too 🤘
That’s the beauty of life concerts
Quality......
Fee and Company blend together very well with great compositions and vocals.
The Tubes
"Talk To Ya Later"
Live On Their Outside/Inside Tour, 1983

....WODERFUL GUYS....I JUST LOVE THE TUBES......
great stuff! very enjoyable!
I love this song 🎵 ❤️. Great song that people can actually relate to,when being in a clingy or possessive relationship, you tell them I'll talk 👄 to you later.
Another song written by Steve Lukather. He wrote She's a Beauty also. Put this band on the map all by himself.
As a fellow fan, it's a stretch that Steve L (who IS a musical genius) put the band on the map. They had so many other great songs he didn't write. If anything, White Punks On Dope put The Tubes on the map.
The Tubes were already stars - the masses just were too slow to catch up before the radio hit.
Love the 80s
Song’s cut off at the end...boo!
My favourite and best band ever!
What an infectious tune. Still sounds modern to me.
Hear hear!
These dudes kicked ass !!
what a great band they were.
They are touring again and doing the Complete Backward Principle in its entirety!!!
@@CYBRToken Would love to see them do remote control again.
This reminds me of 8th grade, what a great time
Just too damn good!
great tune
Such a fun song to listen to.
He won't even miss me when he's gone lol
Love the 80 s
Shame the way it cut off at he end
This recording truncates the beautiful guitar riff at the end. :•( 😢
Maybe because that's Steve lukather on the album and Roger Steen can't play it.
@@clbdyc Not true. I have seen him play the whole solo many times. Nice try.
Awesome lead guitar. So underrated it pissis me off . Is he in the rock hall of fame? Is the band?
That outfit, so geeky lol but I love their music they are badass. 🎶🤘🎸
Did they seriously do White Punks On Dope? So different!
Great Tune....shame the video was not long enough to hear the end.
Is that Vince Welnick in the back on the keyboards?
MTV Saturday Night Concert clip ????? 1981 / 82 ?
1981
Awesome 🎵
Wow This guy sounds even better live than on the record
I love the 90’s!!
This song is from 1981. The 90's sucked as far as music is concerned.
When and where was this? Great song.
They cut out the ending!!!!
UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE!
Song was wrote by Steve lukather from toto
bizzaro1988 Steve and Fee.
Bass player refused to play this song because it wasn't a "Tubes" song.
bizzaro1988 so what?
Guitar is brilliant .
@The Tubes : why did you edit out the last part of the song ?!
Who would post this and cut off the solo? That's literally against the law.
Отличный музон!
Good old MTV days 🤩
Is that Cosmo Kramer?
Plad pants red shirt guys a time bomb.
How about not cutting the song before it ends?
The bomb
WTF?? Where's the rest of it???
Steve Lukather from Toto wrote the song and did all the guitar solos on the original recording. Since he didn't tour with them you'll never hear that kick ass guitar work live. He also did She's a Beauty.
Bill Spooner ❤️❤️❤️
This guy looks like Kramer from Seinfeld ! But what a great song!
Al Koopers band are tight as you can get
❤️
hell yeah
Oh David.
Who’s here for the lukather solo at the end?
Vince.

The world is not flat. Never was, never is, and never shall be. It's round like a doughnut.
Ok, so they did have more than one hit.
God Fee is hot!!
Ouch,,,, timing timing. And pitch !!! Ouch.
Yep, who do they think they are robert “can’t sing for shit” plant!
So emememein is the the rock and roll hall of fame and Dolly Parton is in but not THE TUBES. What a joke it is.
😅
Talk to ya later lol
about a new chatterbox girlfriend driving yah nuts, lol
Another Steve Lukather hit. The dude poops out hit songs.
´still, dead consert..
Fee!!!!!!!!
Ultimate white guy dancing stereotype
Fee!!!
I love these guys and this song but this is just bloody awful. They're out of tune - like you gotta be joking.
I was tending bar at the Catamaran Hotel Sa Diego in 1980 when the tubes played there 2 nights. 2 shows both nights ...it was awesome...great times
❤
