    The jerky take off in forward and reverse is very common on the U800. We have swapped in the CDI from a Z800 with great results. Little to no hesitation on takeoff. Located behind the driver seat. Good luck with the build.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  6 лет назад

      Thanks for the tip! Just swapping out the CDI alone fixed your issue? That's crazy, I was planning on a new belt (which I will probably get anyway) and re-weighting the clutch. This is a much easier option, thanks for the heads up.

If not..at least I will be able to provide that feedback to others, so either way I will still be able to provide some value from the whole thing. I have a '15 and pleased with it. The floor drain hole i found bad when i first went through a deep puddle water came up and shouldn't have been waring sneakers lol. I had rubber oil line come apart and lost my engine. There is an upgrade kit i would hope newer units would have this installed. The warranty looked after the cost of the rebuild. I use mine to plow my drive way and it has no problem handling 3 or 4 foot wing row from the municipality.

    The CVT clutch on what you have is a liquid cooled clutch when you are stopped it is spinning in a coolant while the bill is still fully connected therefore the wear and tear of engaging does not occur. Causing the belts to have probably about a 300% better life

    • @TheBandit7613
      @TheBandit7613 5 лет назад

      It's part of the engine and is oiled by the engine, not coolant.

    The bush guard, windshield and canopy make a huge difference, too. Once your stock windshield gets all scratchy and almost impossible to see through, polish the whole windshield with deet and your windshield will be like new again. I’m interested in getting the full enclosure with the heater and windshield wipers. Canadian winters are mighty cold. I have the 2017 UForce 800 eps.

  • @northernalphs

    I have a '17 U800 thought I bought because I desperately needed something I could use to plow a long driveway and to work around our 30 acres, but I didn't want to break the bank. This machine fit the bill because it came with a lot of features at a good price. Overall I am happy with it but have a few things I don't like. The first thing I noticed was the ride was terrible, which I knew it wouldn't be the best because the shocks weren't fully adjustable - preload only. I ended up moving the preload adjustment from the first position to the fourth position (more firm) and it was quite a bit better. But I think I am going to get a set of Elka fully adjustable shocks for it, I think this would make it a much more enjoyable machine. A second gripe is that I have noticed a whining noise I think is coming from the rear differential. If you read on the CFMoto forum, I'm not alone in this problem and I plan on returning to the dealer to have them give it a listen. Hopefully, that is something that will be taken care of under warranty. If I get those two things taken care of I think I will be much happier with my Uforce 800. I do have the same issues as Dan Brownfield, like heat from the center console and hesitation on start but am willing to deal with those considering what I paid for the machine. Good luck with the build, I will be following because I would love to learn what changes or additions work for you!

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  6 лет назад

      Thanks for the detailed feedback Curt! I can't say I have noticed any whining on this one, but can relate when it comes to the shocks. I looked at getting Elka shocks a while ago but they don't make them for the 18. Although that was a while ago, so I should look again.
      Have had zero luck on getting it lifted! Just recently started to reach out to custom fabricators in hopes to get someone to design something. That's towards the top of initial things to complete for the build, so hopefully we will get it squared away after the holidays.

    The fact that you sold the Polaris and bought the cfmoto is actually a very smart move considering the price ☝️those guys are well known in Europe and the design of this machine it’s the best among the utv/sxs today,so yea...one thing that I would immediately do is a long travel suspension,those are some beefy tires but to Narrow in my opinion or I should say to my taste...and that button that you don’t know what it is I think it is for a faster speed on reverse.

    I bought a new non current 2017 UForce 800 this past May and so far it's been excellent. Works hard, fun, fast enough for me(approx. 60-65mph), and most importantly; trouble free! (5yr limited warrantee and 1 year bumper to bumper in Canada) I bought it because my 2012 RZR800 was in the shop more than on the trail. Here in Canada I opted for the Full Hard Cab option with heater, wiper, and washer; all through CFMoto. Ended up buying an Iron Baltic full skid plate, a gun rack, stereo, and some reverse lights.
    I'd LOVE to hear more about a proper lift kit for this unit, not just the coil spring spacers. Tire sizes on the stock 14" wheels also interest me.
    Thanks for your video, I'm sure you'll enjoy your UForce and I look forward to seeing your build!

    I have an '17 U800 in camo. Use it primarily for hunting. Loving it. Heat is an issue from the center console. Summer was miserable in Oklahoma. Stock it has plenty of power for my 300 lbs. The jerkyness on start is problematic when trying to smooth start because of the cargo. I've been told that the ECU out of a ZForce will smooth it out. Some higher doors would be nice, but the only thing I've found is $650...dont need them that bad...Have fun with your build.

    There are many positives, if something were to happen to it your home owners insurance will cover it as it can be used for work around the house. CF Moto has been around for over 25 years. There HP ratings are measured to the rear wheels instead of off the fly wheel. I looked at the Z Force 1000, and was shocked. Nice machine and loaded for around 13000. Really nice. I noticed the boys at Dirt Trax really gave them a good review. They love them. Warranty is pretty awsome. People just need to do there home work. Check out the 1000 z force. Elka shocks, stainless steel exhaust and the list goes on and on

      Thanks for your input, Terry. These machines are a great option for many people. Just to clear the air though, I have personally verified with CFMOTO that they do in fact measure hp at the crank like other companies (not at the wheels). I am considering adding a CFmoto to my garage because the Can Am is big. I need a smaller machine for the tight mountain trails.

    • @NavigateOffroad

      Agreed. It is a direct competitor. I would say that where it would win is what you get for the price. For example, do I think the Wolverine has a better clutching setup, absolutely. It's not a provincial regulation, it's municipal bylaws that allow it. Lots of small communities as well as some larger towns/cities allow use of ATVs and SxS on the roads, or on certain roads. There are plenty around where I live in Ontario. Mostly where ATV driven tourism is a thing, they eventually realize it's a positive thing to allow the use on their roads.

      oh ok, that sounds pretty similiar to here in America then. It does lead me to wonder then why they have the flashers included in the Canadian model and not the American model.

      Hopefully we will have some stuff coming out on the Uforce soon in regards to its build. It has been pretty hard to find good parts for it. One thing we have learned...the aftermarket market (yes I realize I just said market twice in a row 😆) is pretty lacking for CFMOTO's.

    I have a 2019 UForce 500 very similar to you’res and I am loving it so far! I had to get an emissions issue taken care of under warranty because it would refuse to start after getting it hot. Very minor issue but other than that I Love it. I did have the dealer do the valve clearance adjustment. Do you think it is necessary? I’m not sure but I had it done and it runs great

      Midwest ATV thanks for the quick response on both questions. In planning on buying one this winter if it preforms well, in also happy it has tilt steering that would have been a no to me if it didn't (the small things count). Can't wait to to see that review.

      I hear you about the small things. My wife is not short, which always made her stretch some when driving the RZR. The UForce has an adjustable seat! Works amazing for her.
      The review should be out soon. Took it out on the trail a couple times but I really want to get it in some thick mud before calling it "good". Thanks for the support, and let me know if you end up getting one this winter!

    Who cares what the trolls say bro... That's a beautiful machine. What these uneducated clowns don't realize is all these "name brands" get their machines made by outside companies also. They are, for the most part, all the same... (i.e. Massimo and Yamaha are identical machines. Yamaha is about $3000 more.)

      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      😆 Thanks for the comment and input Showgun! If people have justifiable arguments or experience, I love to have discussions about machinea/differences. However a lot of negative feedback seems to come from a denial based simply on the name brand. I suppose that's normal for many things in life though...

Would you buy it again if given the chance? Pro's? Cons? I look forward to your responce, New subscriber here, awesome channel!

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the in depth response, Tee.
      A year in and I still think they are good machines. The more time I spend around the CFMOTO brand the more I am actually convinced they are good machines. The jerky start still pisses me off and something that we are going to try and fix with a different belt. We had. Little bit of a water issue with it getting in the dash, but other than that it has been a solid machine.
      As for if we would buy again..hard to say. Not because I think there is something wrong with it, I just really like testing out different machines 😆
      Overall though, it has exceeded out expectations. Especially when you account for the price and what you get!

      Hey thanks for Subing Ryan!
      Nothing really wrong with the RZR, it was a great machine. Just decided it was time to try something else (and bigger). The CF Moto seemed like a good option because there is still a lot less awareness and information on them. So I wanted to be able to provide that value to others, and learn more about them myself. Plus we ride a lot, and wanted to try a machine where we could bring the dog with....which will hopefully work out.

    • @RBallarddesigns
      @RBallarddesigns 6 лет назад

      Midwest ATV looking forward to see what you do with it. I like the Z-force too but my knees get killed in the dash. Plus you are right with the dog aspect. My shepherd goes everywhere with me. It would be cool to have him come on rides.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  6 лет назад

      It's not too bad. The heat is noticeable but not extreme by any means. In fact, I would say it is probably less than with similar SxS's such as the Ranger.
      The engine is placed down enough and partially behind the seats in a way that as long as you are moving the heat mostly gets pushed behind you. I suppose if you enclosed the cab though you would notice it more...but again, it has not been that "uncomfortably hot" that some machines get.
