You are certainly blessed to have such a great crew of men working for you. And you also have a son to take over the business when you can no longer do it yourself. Thank you for providing these great videos.
Tom,I always enjoy watching your videos ! A chain is no stronger than it's weakest link, and your crew chain doesn't appear to have any weak links ! I discovered abut 50 years ago the only easy part of concrete work was ordering it over the phone !! LOL GREAT JOB, as always !!
Thankfully the builder came by before you started pouring, and thankfully you started on the side you did!! I personally wouldn’t want my driveway cut off like that!
Always enjoy the videos. Perfect way to enjoy the morning coffee. I look around my new house and can tell my concrete was NOT done by "Concrete with the Hauses" because it looks bad. Nothing I want more to have you guys show people in KY how to finish concrete. As always it's an amazing job. Love the finished project!!!
I really like the work that you and your crew do. Y'all are very good at the working the concrete and finishing the concrete. Love the detail work y'all do and you explaining what you are doing on each job. Hope y'all have a blessed Thanksgiving.
For practicality, I agree with you. Aesthetically, I agree with the builder! I think a smaller entrance looks better than 3 wide. Just my humble opinion. Great work as always!
TOM, lotta comments in this one, good and bad and many shoulda coulda's! One that STAYS constant ?..... "Yer crew and you do great work" ! So,.. " a little clean up, and on to the next one!"
Alway's a pleasure to watch your videos. I like how you accomplish the fall of the concrete in the driveway. Very interesting. Good content. Stay safe.
I live by two rules in life, never tell a man his business and how to spend his money. But since you're asking i like the finished edged look. I think it looks cleaner if that makes sense to you. Give a big shout out to the crew they're work is second to none!!!! 👍🇺🇸💪🇺🇸
Straight to the road and flare out would make for easier access. More room for chalk drawings too 😉. The day I let my kids walk on my new driveway it was covered with beautiful chalk artwork. On the back patio I would vote for picture framing. More work but so much prettier. Lot of concrete you laid down in 8 hours. Be proud of your crew.
Love the shots of finishing the edges here in the uk we never do them like that but I just love the finish you guys get grate work as always. Thanks for sharing
Hello Tom. For my wife and I, your work and video are like relaxation. We are currently in Ukraine but will soon arrive in Miami. I just dream of working with you and learning the craft. thank you
The small garage off to the side might by used for lawn mowers and garden tools. In which case, it didn't need to go to the street. Still gives an extra parking spot on the drive.
Interesting seeing the thought process behind quoting the job and what it takes to complete it. Keep up the good work and you'll hit your 20k soon enough!
The patio out back - are the post in the concrete? I'm surprised the post don't set on a spacer above the concrete to allow the base of the post to dry out after rainfall, etc.
As always, Tom, you and your guys did a Great job !! I just wish that you could pack up the whole crew and come to Georgia, near Augusta, and tear out and redo all my slab work, which wasn't great to begin with, 22 years ago, and is terrible now !!
You've got me hooked on edging and borders. In my mind, TSH always beautifies their work w edging and borders. I guess plain Jane may fit ok behind the house. I really did like the music today, I've heard that song at one of my granddaughter's dance competitions. I can still hear it in my head as I type. I would bet when that house gets an owner, they'll want the rest of the drive poured. Poor Steve having to work 6 days, lol, he'll be working, doing something on Sunday too. He and Tommy work every day, when not w TSH on their own houses. During my 35 years at Corning Cable Systems, I worked 7 days a lot and didn't like being there but 7th day pay was double time, so I loved it on payday. I worked overtime every day, every week and had my contribution to my 401k upped to 5% my last 10 years. That gave me enough to retire at 62 and I did! I'm still hearing I'm invisible. Nice! Another great video Tom and crew, thanks!👍👌❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
Did you drill into the garage floor slab and stub out #4 rebar to prevent deflection? I didn't see you do that.....not like you..... you do excellent work.....
The fact that a preseason NFL game is on tonight kind of helps me think of a way to say how good you are. First off your name is Tom, I can think of a pretty good football player who's name is Tom. Just to let you know who the comparison is to , Tom Brady was pretty good !
Tom, Just curious. Do you ever feel like your just going through the motions some days? What do you do to get away from day to day things? We all have those days. Another nice job by you and your guys. Keep up the quality work. Ron
I know I've asked this before, but why not pour the whole drive at one time? Everyone in our area pours it all at once down to right of way. Even if there isn't sidewalks on the street we have to separate with expansion a 5 foot walk between drive and approach, with it being 6 inches thick and 12 inches thick at the street.
Tom why do some concrete companies use a piece of wood as an expansion joint at least they do in St Louis area? I hate it. The wood rots and now you have a big gap to clean out and refill. Is there a reason? Is saw cutting the alternative?
I don’t think using wood for pad. Separation is a good idea at all. There are many good expansion joint products out there.saw cutting is OK not my preferred choice.
Another great job was done by Tom and his super great sons and crew. To those that subscribe you won't be disappointed with any of the videos that you'll see so subscribe and help this company out.
👍👏 Great video Tom......Awesome to start getting to know your teams personalities!! Great video! 23:25 reserve the right to roll laughing should one of the guys uncandidily be like, "Be Quiet Tom!!" 🤣🤣
Was it the diff slopes in grade that made you lay out your forms the length of the drive ? Nice work as usual. Looks like you guys missed that snow. Bet their not pouring in Buffalo. WOW thats a lot of snow!
What Do You Think We Should Do? 1. Use geotextile. 2. Ram gravel. 3. Do not throw rebar on the gravel. Install it on racks. So rebar will start to work in the concrete. 4. Lay waterproofing under the rebar. So concrete milk will not soak into the gravel and concrete hardness will not decrease. 5. Process poured concrete not only by hands, but also with "helicopter". You will make top level of concrete much more wearproof. 6. Cover poured concrete by polyethylene to avoid extra drying. In this case you will do really high quality work. Sorry about this criticism and have a nice day.
A couple of years ago when we lived in Florida, there was an issue in a new neighborhood that would flood with heavy rains. The street department finally found the problem, when the construction was going on, the concrete outfits were having the driver's dump the excess concrete down the sewer drain and overtime plugged up the line. I know when we had concrete apron added to the front of our building and i told the driver to dump the extra along the fence line but he didn't listen to me and let it go where I would mow. So then i had to clean up his mess.
Customer is always right but the builder cheaped out on that one. Concrete in my area is about $300 a yard. He saw a way to save $1200 and jumped on it. Mistake on his part. The homeowner will want a full width pad to make easier garage access and so the kids have room to play basketball and ride their bikes.
@@Concretewiththehauses I saw on a few of your videos where you incorporated diamond cuts and diagonals. BTW I found your channel from Outdoors with the Morgan’s.
Do you have any idea, why my concrete peeling, in the area where I parked my truck couple times, it is a new concrete 3 times sealed , 4500 psi and still pop-up. could be heat from the engine in cold temperature, or maybe guys used liquid release and concrete settled improperly.
Any accelerators in it? I been having to use a volumetric truck all season up in New Hampshire and they don’t have any accelerator, poured 7 yards this morning at 8am, concrete was down at 9(buggie had a long ride) and didn’t broom it till 5 🫠
Hi Tom. Do you ever tape or cap the conduit ends so that dirt or concrete does not get inside? Did you point out to the builder that the two houses are different, one has a garage and one does not? Sure, come back to do the wedge. Just charge 1.5 or so times the cost to do the pad straight to start with. Have good days!

Yes
Won’t it crack on the back patio where the columns are?
Yes, that’s why we put tool cuts in

No we take them out as we pour
