- As an officer conducts a traffic stop, the driver immediately steps out. The suspect's suspicious behaviour alarms the officer and a search of his car reveals a large amount drug paraphernalia. Elsewhere, cops find a woman asleep at the wheel in the middle of the road. After waking up she drives off and the cops chase after her.
Real-life officers are followed by a camera crew, cinéma-vérité style, in a gritty up-close look at police work and the consequences of crime. It spawned a number of police-reality imitators.
