    Great video. I’ve learned a lot. Please keep them coming. And the car looks great.

    For me, I have better luck putting the glass in place, then applying Evergreen Canopy glue around the edges. I also let it set overnight before working with the body again. Again, very nice tutorial👍

    I saw a really good tip on another video where the builder cleaned the glass then put the glue in and used cotton gloves to handle the glass to put em in and then used the tape to hold it in place til the glue dried. It works great for me, but here’s my tip. Find the gloves in a smaller size than you think you need so the gloves fit nice and snug. They keep you from getting fingerprints on you glass and your less likely to pop your glass back out trying to clean your fingerprints off.

      It's a great tip, but I would somehow get glue on the gloves without realizing it and proceed to get that glue everywhere, lol.

    Thanks for sharing. I've been modeling for 2 years and putting in the glass is my least favorite part of modeling.

    Great video! So many useful tips. My go-to glue for glass is gloss modpodge.

      I’m a builder on a budget so I’m going to try some Elmer’s clear glue. I now have a sacrificial model that I screwed up on and I’m going to use it on that one as an experiment. It’s kinda become the Frankenstein model.

    Yep, I had hard time doing the trim on those side panels too for this kit. Its such a weird piece. Narrow near the hood then flares out.

    You make putting on BMF look so easy😳 I tried it once without very good results and have since just used a chrome pen & or silver marker. I really need to give it another try, however, with tremors it can be extremely challenging. As you note, it takes time & practice!

    • @StumpyGrumpsScaleSpeedShop
      @StumpyGrumpsScaleSpeedShop  4 месяца назад

      Yes, practice is key. I sympathize with you on the tremors, that would make it extremely difficult. Awesome that it doesn't keep you from the hobby!

      @@StumpyGrumpsScaleSpeedShop It is a challenge at times. I certainly plan to keep building as long as possible. It's a great hobby. I starred building at 10 & I'm 68 now with plans to stop. Love seeing your builds & videos👍

    I heard you mention Elmer’s glue. Do you use the clear Elmer’s glue? I got in a bad situation trying to put glass in and use Tamiya glue and it left a fog around the edges. 😩 My only saving grace was, it’s a NASCAR build and I was able to use some BMF to cover the most of it up. It’s gonna be a shelf model, so not really many people are going to see it, but I’m my own worst critic.

      We are our own worst critics. Yes, Elmer's glue is another option. Basically any adhesive that dries clear.

    So what brand BMF do you like using???

    • @StumpyGrumpsScaleSpeedShop
      @StumpyGrumpsScaleSpeedShop  4 месяца назад

      Bare Metal Foil is the brand name. I prefer to buy it from my local hobby shop so I can see the sheets before I buy them. Sometimes they wrinkle or get folded and you can't use large sections of the sheet.
