Turn your mono track to stereo. And pick imbedded track one. You can do that in clip attributes in the audio so it doesn’t only come out of the right side of headphones. Great review as always.
I like what your doing here. You have a wealth of experience with these bows and although some of the criteria are based off your opinion, you back the results up with you experience. I take all that into consideration when looking at your results. Hope the Bow manufactures are doing the same.
Good looking bow and great video, nicely done! I think your review process is great. One thing I am always interested in is how much a bow's draw length changes when you back out the limbs, I know some bows companies in the past that were notorious for the draw length changing even, backing out the limbs 1 turn could be a 1/2" in some cases. Just a thought, but great video, keep it up guys!
The price is definitely a bit rough, down here in Aus we are looking at approx $2950-3150 I still think this cam should have had two module for the entire range with X amount of cross over. It just doesnt make sense to miss the short and long end. The ¼ inch draw length with 3 position draw stop is huge too (plus the grips), itll really allow people to dial in their draw length with relative ease.
Always good to see one of your reviews, but I think you have done these bows a disservice by not recognising the many options for tuning the *feel* of the bow: Two mod options, with different draw force curves, back end and wall feel. Two options for wall with each mod (4 options in total). 1/4" DL adjustment on the spec mods. 1/8" fine adjustment via grips. Three let off positions on both mods. Tweener option available for 2.5% let off adjustability. Nobody else has come close to this in a target bow and this stuff is far more important than ease of getting bullet holes thru paper. Many top pros don't aim for a bullet hole anyway. The new Hoyt can be made to feel so wildly different that it will suit a very wide range of shot types and styles, from the aimers to the gentle pullers, to the aggressive pullers. This is huge. By way of contrast, the Reckoning Gen 2 have limited options for varying wall feel. You have 'rock hard' and 'super rock hard'. If that does not work for you, your only option is to see if an after market mod footer/stop can work better (and it may not). You can go to one stop engaging and then you have the option of 'super soft' and 'crazy soft'. There is nothing in the chasm in the middle on those bows, but at least you can easily get a bullet hole on a bow that you may not be able to shoot well at all....
I think you need to measure speeds based on the speed limits set by shooting associations. For example asa classes are usually 290 fps max and 280 fps for certain classes or at least what it would take to get close to those numbers I understand different draw lengths and weight would have an impact on those numbers. That’s just my 2 cents
Hey! Just got my conceptx 37 today, built it and shot it. However, when shot through paper it had a horrendous out of this world left tear. I moved the shims and got a better tear but still very left, moved the rest all the way to the right and a very prominent left tear was still showing up. I saw on lancaster review that they sell separately bigger sized shims, do you think this is the way to go? Anybody knows another way to approach this issue?
I myself I value your opinion. The only thing I don't like is more is the best. The more I mean tuning values. I'm on the fence of boots holding my limp pressures down(elite/darton now) vs mathews and hoyts solid shims and forget them. Then, I know limbs could weekend vs same issue. Myself, I like the less screws holding my bow together the best. I'm not pro hoyt either, GO MATHEWS!
With how critical he’s being of the shim system for tune ability, wonder if Mathews has finally changed their system. I got a lift last year and it was a pain to tune so I get how bad shims are. So just waiting to see if he’s going to be just as hard on Mathews or if he has some insider knowledge.
Hello MFJJ. Do you know what the finish is on the riser? Anodised? Cerakote? or painted? (I know the four matt colours are powder coated, it is the target colours I am questioning). Thanks
I love this content. The format is great…but I’m a knuckledragger. I shoot 33-34inches. Pleeeeeeeeease! No one has compared the highline atlas and the revolt xl. 🙏 please 🙏 please 🙏!
When you measure the “load off point”, use those points and drop a yardstick on them to measure the “brace height”at full draw. This measurement matters way more than riser reflex.
How can you measure brace height at full draw, if brace height is the measurement from deepest 0art of the grip to the string? Taking it at full draw is basically measuring draw length. Could you explain?
@@velasquez8 I put it in quotes because there is no real term for this. PSE calls it dynamic brace height but that term is also inaccurate since it’s not dynamics but statics. Basically you are measuring the lever arm length that the string is acting on to resist torque about the axis of the grip. This measurement is taken at full draw. It shows a bows resistance to hard torque at full draw. Holding weight and the load off point length he did measure can be used to calculate full draw string tension and also play a part in resisting hand torque. With this “full draw brace height” measurement depending on limb and cam design some bows are longer than brace height and some bows are shorter than brace height. The longer this number is the less angular deflection a bow will have with a given hand torque, holding weight and draw length. Riser reflex measurement is an arbitrary measurement. A straight riser with no reflex and short limbs will resist torque almost the same as a heavily reflexed riser with long limbs at the same brace height with the same cam. The only difference being a very small almost not measurable lateral deflection in the longer limbs. Once the shot is released dynamics comes into play and stabilizers play the biggest role in resisting hand torque It’s a lot easier to explain on a white board. Hope this helps a little.
I’ve shot bows for a long time but am new to setting up and tuning on my own. Quick and easy question. I have a Hoyt ventum pro 33. It’s not the only one that has them but there is a little bolt in the end of the limb almost to the tip. All four limbs. Can someone tell me what these are for tried to google it but no luck. Just curious.
Not a mathews guy, but It'll be interesting to see if this can match the Title as far as vibration, balance, & overall feel. Would buy a Title if i didnt already have 4 bows that shoot & feel great already.
Yeah a little more light wouldn't hurt, I'm familiar with the shoot through principle I just hope there's more than one rest option, and not that's it worth my effort to say anything about one pin or one aiming point sight option, I'm a packrat when it comes sometimes hanging on some pieces of past old tackle ,I'm just saying some engineering and design is always improvable , yeah, it's a well known fact that everyone wants simplicity simple functionality sight systems, so what the hell is wrong with trying to apply the theoretical handgun scope approach, cause I've had the idea in my possession the late 90s, I feel that this idea is very possible but I don't have the lottery money and the building facility for design and engineering time, but the idea of scopes are good, I have seen a pro dot system some else brought out, but some how no one seems interested to have enough brain energy for engineering, I've have the desire but I don't have the money yet, I'm glad to see hoyt brought out a new 40 " bow
Josh I really like your judging system you have there on the board there because I think that you really break down on everything on the bow in order for the people out there to see which bow they like. I'm just curious why are you so bias on Hoyt bows every time you review on is it because it's not a Mathews bow!!
Your Bow reviews are great but 2000 for a target bow give me a break! For the price it should have better adjustment capabilities I would think !!! They want to sell this Bow I think they should redo it with better adjustments !!! To me they are just throwing out something to sell !!!!
The entire purpose of a (good, qualified) Pro Shop is to dial an "out of box" newly built bow to correct specifications for the final buyer. Otherwise one might as well buy on-line. This methodology shown here is flawed at best.
Wanna bet the Title 40 will have no Tuning system either, doesn’t reach the fps as well and will geht ranked higher. Will geht ranked above the Sequel 35😂
You talk as if hoyt copied mathews on the cam system. Mathews took that idea from Darton. Mathews copied split limb.dual cam. Remember they were the solo cam company now there not huh.
Turn your mono track to stereo. And pick imbedded track one. You can do that in clip attributes in the audio so it doesn’t only come out of the right side of headphones. Great review as always.
THIS! This drives me nuts!
As a hobby shooter, I look forward to seeing all of the fully built, lightly used Stratos 40’s in my Craigslist feed…
Stay away. 3/16 axle was awful.
The reviews of the Hoyt target bows is extremely appreciated 👍

Now do a side x side comparison with the Title!
Finally, been waiting for a hoyt target foever😅
I hope you get a fx to do a review on. It looks like a good crossover bow for sure!!
because ask is all we do... can't wait for the baby brother of these series review the FX!!!!

Stiff arrow or launcher contact, maybe?

Will i see a big difference from the stratos HBT to the concept X ? At a competitive level (target 50m)
Geeze I wonder what bows will get close to 80. 🤔

I'd give it 1 for ugliness. Not my style of bow.
Being reminiscent of the Invicta, you're right it ain't pretty BUT in Skeeter finish I'd forgive it😂
Here we go again! Longer ATA bows. Gotta create a market and cycle back to them. YEE Haw!
You forget that Target shooting exists? Long ATA has always had a market.
Buncha hunters in the comments who dont know that target archery exists...

how did it feel against mathews title 38??
