The factions all came to Auraxis united under the banner of the TR which back on Earth was a democratic world government. But now they're all stranded on Auraxis and seek different ways to deal with it. The TR (cut-off from their leaders) want to maintain the command structure that was originally in place and re-establish contact with Earth. As a result when anything threatens the original command structure or their aim to contact Earth they resort to draconian measures. The NC leadership are businessmen tired of the restrictions placed on them by the TR and as a result cry "tyranny!" and encourage civilians to rebel against the established government. However, the NC leaders don't give a shit about civil liberties, they only care about profit at the end of the day and simply use accusations of tyranny to manipulate the masses. The VS are basically a cult (they're essentially Scientologists) who worship a long-lost alien race and the technology they left behind. Instead of using this technology to benefit all humans on Auraxis they treat it as a privilege only the "enlightened" deserve access to and seek to abandon their humanity in pursuit of enlightenment.

From the research I’ve done (and yes I guess you could call reddit and Wikipedia “unreliable” but whatever) and also stated in the faction description itself the TR are authoritarian collectivists. Authoritarianism is bad, (I’m not defending anarchy) but to quote Alan Watts “the purpose of life is to live” authoritarianism directly interferes with peoples ability to make even the most basic decisions for example the killing of protesters supporting less corporate regulation, curfews, public gatherings being shut down. With those examples in mind I find it Pretty fair to say the TR has no right to free speech and no right to public gathering. I think we can all agree that the VS is a weird cult that kills those that fail to support them. The NC on the other hand, supports personal freedoms instead of suppressing it, supports free market capitalism instead of burdensome over regulation that hold back the nation, and value democracy and do have a plan to replace the government with a real democracy with real freedom, with real capitalism. Now it’s easy to say “why can’t they just protest peacefully” well if my sources are correct they did... then they got shot by the TR. anyway, please don’t be angry I’m not a troll I’m just genuinely interested in these types of topics.

There's something mesmerising about the TR. I cant put my finger on it. My main character is NC but I cant help but feel envious for the TR. So I played as the TR and I love how professional everything feels...but then I miss the nc...fuck my life
I would love to play around with the mechanics of the Vanu and roll around in a Vanguard but whenever I shoot at something red now I feel a tiny bit of remorse which just builds up into this horrible feeling of regret.

To boil it down: If you want to be part of a bigger whole, join the TR. We've got the best zerg in the game, bar none, and we have no peers in super-large-scale battles. If you like making a fight (and even emerging victorious!) from fights that should have been certain defeats, join the VS. There is no faction in PS2 that is more stubborn - and not only that. VS *tends* to be very smart about their manpower, on the whole. I have a lot of respect for them. If you like fighting smaller battles, and having 1v1 superiority, though...look no further than the NC. They have the best individual fighters in the game. And while I said they excel in small conflicts, that effectiveness scales up very well in large battles as well... Ultimately it comes down to your preference - NC, TRm and VS are *largely* the same...but those are the main traits I've noticed from each faction.

I think Loyalty is really part of TR , I was repairing and using that turret at the base non stop... respawning , repairing it and dying for about 10 times until the Vanu lost. I was playing with a random , and we died, spawned and got out in a harasser for about 5 times. TR ✊✊✊❤️ For peace

To boil it down:
If you want to be part of a bigger whole, join the TR. We've got the best zerg in the game, bar none, and we have no peers in super-large-scale battles.
If you like making a fight (and even emerging victorious!) from fights that should have been certain defeats, join the VS. There is no faction in PS2 that is more stubborn - and not only that. VS *tends* to be very smart about their manpower, on the whole. I have a lot of respect for them.
If you like fighting smaller battles, and having 1v1 superiority, though...look no further than the NC. They have the best individual fighters in the game. And while I said they excel in small conflicts, that effectiveness scales up very well in large battles as well...
Ultimately it comes down to your preference - NC, TRm and VS are *largely* the same...but those are the main traits I've noticed from each faction.

I think Loyalty is really part of TR , I was repairing and using that turret at the base non stop... respawning , repairing it and dying for about 10 times until the Vanu lost. I was playing with a random , and we died, spawned and got out in a harasser for about 5 times. TR ✊✊✊❤️ For peace

We call this tactical superiority
