I’m kinda conflicted with Viktor. I liked his old design but he was overdo for a redo. But I like his design from Arcane more than the his old design and the new one they gave him. He looks more like he’s from the Shadow Isles than anything. At least the Arcane version kept the technology side of things but just added some magic.
I liked his character in the old lore. He was very unique, the only other cyborg was urgot. Hell, he actually helped a lot of people in the lore with machinery. Now he looks like Malhazar. We didn't need another void-demi God mage
Can you elaborate on that please? Because I honestly think his design in the show was a far cry from anything resembling "technology", but fair enough, maybe we have a different understanding of the word...and they are allowed to take some artistic liberies after all, so it doesn't have to be a beep-boop robot. But what really interests me: how is the splash art different from what we saw in the show? Like I can spot a couple of minor differences maybe, but...this is like 90% the same character. Am I missing something, I'm genuinely curious.
I love the new one. Feels more eldrich / primal, and the magic adds a nice touch (I hope they somehow incorporate the 'hivemind' thing from arcane into League, but if it doesn't happen then it wont be a big deal either).

I think they should a mechanic to viktor's kit where he can slap "glorius evolution" to his teammates instead of his abilities. Like you have 4 chance to use evolution per ability but you can either use it on ability or one of your teammates to make them stronger. This also adds so many diffrent play styles. And it is cannon.

Really sad they were too cowardly to give us full on changed warwick in the show. Real missed opportunity to bind the game and the show together when it comes to him. On the other hand im very grateful they gave him a snoot and tail for this skin, because if it was the version of him in the show i'd have hated seeing anyone playing with it.

The hive-mind cult shit has again, been done before with Malzahar, who he now looks very similar to (and the in-game model looks like Azir). He was the only purely mechanical mage before and now that's taken a backseat to muh all-powerful magic. They took Malz, stuck a robot arm on the back, and added a staff and General Grievous mask. Ironically, his update made him MORE generic in the context of the other champs in the game

After all these years only now do they go changing summoners rift. I have hated how it always looked the same and it was one of the reasons why I left. I’m glad they now plan on changing it every season.

There was no way for riot to keep the old Viktor design it did not fit with the league universe anywhere. They had 3 directions to follow : 1. Full on blue Hex-tech like Vi's gaunlets and the robot-looking Counselors that where present already. Which would defeat his whole purpose because there is nothing glorious nor is there any evolution in turning himself into an already existing technology that did not provide better living conditions. 2. Full on Chem-tech/shimmer infused drug addict like Renata Glasc. Which would make sense since he works alot with Singed. 3. The current design which frankly is the best.

1. Machine technology already exists alongside metal augments. They are clunky ,steampunkish and they are horrible for the people's health. (They are both popular in Piltover and Zaun example the Cybord looking Counselor). It is an inferior technology with alot of detriments. 2.Singed/Raveck is the main provider of human augment parts alongside the provider for shimmer. So that is his job not Viktor's 3. Viktor's story was convoluted and frankly did not make sense . One time he tries to be good and the other time he turns people into metal scrap piles. Riot had to choose what do to with Viktor since his entire stick the "glorious evolution" did not make any sense as Metal augments are already common in both Piltover and Zaun and they are shown to very limiting and cumbersome. That is why they where being replaced increasing with Hex-tech and Chem-tech respectively.
The layoffs didn't stop them from finishing the Viktor VGU in record time, announcing another VGU in Shyv's place, and confirming a champion for January
Since they made Warwick look like a gorilla just to satisfy the arcane watchers i hope they make it well in game because the skin looks so minimalist literally nothing but a different fur a mask and more ripped clothes

@@roman4ick it’s not supposed to be a VGU that’s just what the leaks said. in the dev vlog they compared it to caitlyn’s ASU where they updated her visual design but kept her abilities the same. this is the same thing. also, we don’t know how much they’re changing his passive or base abilities but there could still be changes

Not a fan of new Viktor design. So thin, organic and alien like. A amssive deviaton from the MACHINE HERALD. Viktor should have looked more a Tech Priest from Warhammer than this...
There was no way for riot to keep the old Viktor design it did not fit with the league universe anywhere. They had 3 directions to follow :
1. Full on blue Hex-tech like Vi's gaunlets and the robot-looking Counselors that where present already. Which would defeat his whole purpose because there is nothing glorious nor is there any evolution in turning himself into an already existing technology that did not provide better living conditions.
2. Full on Chem-tech/shimmer infused drug addict like Renata Glasc. Which would make sense since he works alot with Singed.
3. The current design which frankly is the best.
@@DrunkCricket23 WHat you mean doesn't fit the league universe? This unvierse is far from consistant. Either way he could have been bulkier with more augments and machine aprts, not a skinny alien/cosmic mage the new one is.
1. Machine technology already exists alongside metal augments. They are clunky ,steampunkish and they are horrible for the people's health. (They are both popular in Piltover and Zaun example the Cybord looking Counselor). It is an inferior technology with alot of detriments.
2.Singed/Raveck is the main provider of human augment parts alongside the provider for shimmer. So that is his job not Viktor's
3. Viktor's story was convoluted and frankly did not make sense . One time he tries to be good and the other time he turns people into metal scrap piles.
Riot had to choose what do to with Viktor since his entire stick the "glorious evolution" did not make any sense as Metal augments are already common in both Piltover and Zaun and they are shown to very limiting and cumbersome. That is why they where being replaced increasing with Hex-tech and Chem-tech respectively.

Sad that Shyvana VGU will be done in 2026 but it makes sense with the layoffs and the last few VGUs have been about a year and a half to 2 years
The layoffs didn't stop them from finishing the Viktor VGU in record time, announcing another VGU in Shyv's place, and confirming a champion for January
I would rather keep Viktor UNTOUCHED. Giving an upgrade to his ult usually means: something will be taken from his kit, sooner or later.
Since they made Warwick look like a gorilla just to satisfy the arcane watchers i hope they make it well in game because the skin looks so minimalist literally nothing but a different fur a mask and more ripped clothes
