People say 50 ruined New York hip hop and talks about how he disses everyone but dude will stay by your side as long as you do the same for him. He even saved money for Yayo when he was in Jail. Not many people do that to their friends. The whole issue with Banks, Yayo, and Buck was because 50 was tired of feeding them by hand and wanted them to establish themselves like Drake did.
Yeah I don't think that's fair for people to say 50 ruined NY Hip-Hop...It's really difficult to pinpoint why NY fell out of the mainstream picture. I think it's because there was no movement of a brand new artist or clique, after Rocafella and G-Uni faded...for the South..when Cash Money fell off for that short period, Lil John started to dominate, then the H-town sound catches fire, and then all the Snap music shit popped off, and then Trap Music pops off with T.I, Jeezy, and Gucci.......NY has a problem with REINVENTING itself these days....and that's strange because NY Hip-Hop used to change every 5 years or so.
tswagg504 No one person "ruined" NY HipHop. The landscape of hiphop changed with the changes in society. An emphasis on money became prevalant with the rise of groups within the culture like Bad Boy and No Limit who made money the single most important part of their image.
NY hiphop wasn't ruined, it just became less relevant. Which is why 50's style took off, because it represented what was relevant at the time.
Just like being as un-presentable and inaudible/talentless as possible, is what is relevant nowadays. (lol)

Kidd Kidd *IS* 50 Cent man. Same hunger in his veins. The man was given an opportunity to work on a song over the course of an extended period, and he delivered 2 songs that day on the spot before 50 even came back from a shoot. That is 4 hours of pure "want". He might not be my caliber of music but I respect this young man for the effort.

banks doesn't make enough good records. he's a great lyricist but if he wants mainstream success you have to know how to make songs as well as being lyrical. 50 was very lyrical in his early days but he managed to learn how to make songs.
