I appreciate your commitment and due diligence in bringing these keen insights into what the NYFD endure day in and day out. I also applaud their zeal to remove that signage.A glancing blow from that type of material can result in lasting back and neck injuries. Thanks John! (At the moment Boston is also experiencing those hot soupy nights and “Louisiana” like days.)
Nice to see a few leather new Yorker helmets on some of them guys...keeping the cairns name alive in the fdny... I've had 3 of them in my years in the fire service I got stolen 1 got burnt up and retired and the 3rd one is about to be retired and a new one ordered to replace it.. just no replacement for the real thing 😊
@55VickyV got my ears and the back of my neck a few times pretty good but otherwise unscathed... ( tell my knees that though 😆) the thing with leather helmets is over the years of being exposed to fire and high heat they crack and fall apart around the brim and end up with big holes and chunks missing from the brim of the helmet then they become talk pieces on the wall . But nothing else fits and wears like a true cairns n5a leather new Yorker helmet
@55VickyV the heavy equipment (air pack, turn out gear, etc) putting a beating on the body over the span of a career and it is permanent mostly but it's well worth it for the satisfaction of helping and doing a job well done
Always excited to see the FDNY doing what they do best. Thank you so much John. Your time and effort is always appreciated. We don't need a roaring fire all the time. Thank you John and, as always, the entire FDNY. Blessings to everyone. Please take precautions in this high heat. ❤🚒❤🇺🇸❤
There's nothing wrong with videos like this. I actually like it when the Fire Department puts the fires out fast because it means the fire doesn't burn everything down and destroy people's homes or businesses. I always feel sympathy /empathy for people who lose everything from fire. I wish the F.D. could be quick and efficient all the time. Saving lives and property is always the goal.
Interesting video. This is the second video in a week with E68 on scene. Didn't see the engine but saw members with E68 on their SCBA. It's my favorite FDNY Engine and don't get to see it often in your videos. Stay safe!🚒🇺🇸
Quick job from FDNY, and very nice footage John, our summer is rain, rain, and rain oh and storms and a lot of thunder lol and it should be dry and around 100f pfft.
Not a new protocol after Washington Heights one fell - this one it appeared the fire was in behind it, which was clear once they tore it down. Always loved the expression "sweating like a pig" since pigs don't have sweat glands and cannot sweat....but I still use that expression also lol.
Great coverage and I can’t blame them for being concerned about extension 31:26 overall great knockdown by the members with a very aggressive attack 32:07 and cudos to TL-44 getting it done and laying down the hammer in the boogie down Bronx 2N2 my friend 33:26
This is a fine video. I think we all understand the only way you’ll make these fires before the FDNY puts them out is with a flying car. They are just that fast and efficient.
You know it’s hot when the battalion chief isn’t wearing his turnout gear! Lol you freeze in the winter and sweat your sss off in the summer . Nature of the beast!
JJ, on the last few videos I notice that the Firefighters no longer have a unit number tag on the back of their SCBA units harness frame. Any idea why they are no longer doing that? I thought it was an excellent idea to help ID any missing members, or who was who during interior operations. Stay hydrated Bro, be safe and thanks for all you do.
I'm glad they are securing that with the chain. That was scary last week! They are taking no chances that will happen again! Safety first! Once they shut down that last line......they all start taking off.....to get some grub at their firehouse!!!!! Smells like...cooked garbage. Stay cool John!
I just returned from Red Cross deployment to Ruidoso New Mexico to provide recovery assistance to the victims of the recent wildfires and floods. Have some catching up to do to view your report. Be safe out there JJ.🇺🇸🚒⛑️🤓

@@kartracer5g229 I can relate to the knee problem, although I’ve never been a firelady. Mine is due to arthritis and old age (81). 🇨🇦
