To be honest: They have their own advantages. I like the organs and electric pianos from KORG more than those in a Yamaha. Yamaha wins with guitars, winds and pianos. Both complete each other perfectly
in New Zealand and bought PSR S970 last week my only keyboard before this was a Hammond B3 which I still use h ad it since late 60's but needed a more portable keyboard and YAMAHA PSR S970 is perfect used it at a retirement home and everyone enjoyed the music
Both very nice gadgets.. For my taste ; Piano, EP, string, sax and guitar sounds are much more realistic on Yamaha.. Let's say all Super Articulation tones are much stronger than Korg counterparts. Korg on the other hand, excels at jazz organs, synth sounds a bit more for me. For the same price range, I'd go for Yamaha PSR-S970 as it feels to have a better general AI for accompany & arranger needs.. Thanks for such an informative comparison ! P.S. Would like to see a comparison of a Casio MZ-X500 Arranger as well.. Thank You ! :)
THE COOL THING ABOUT YAMAHA IS YOU CAN SAMPLE OUT THE KORG SOUNDS AND USE THEM IN THE FLASH MEMORY EXPANSION PACK !!!!! SO I HAVE ROLAND KORG AND ALOT OF OTHER DRUM SOUNDS AND VOICES FROM DIFFERENT KEYBOARDS THAT PLAYS IN MY PSRS970... IF YOU WANT MORE MEMORY GO TYROS!
I have yamaha 970. it sounds good in its own speaker and good sound when audio is record as wav also . but really disappointed when I connected to any other speaker system. sound output on external speaker system is too bad even after some adjustments in eq and compression settings. yamaha 970 users What is your eq and compression settings when you connect to a external speaker
To the Indian users, go for PA 900. It has some cool stufs like 1) Thabala kit- its tone cane be adjusted to the relative scales. 2) Indian sounds are much better in PA. 3) Rythems are completly editable. You can even copy and paste variations from one rythem to the other. 4) It has Udu which can be used as a substitute for Ghatam and good Dolak etc. 5) Touch screen is very helpful. And one thing more, both are good arrangers with their own advantages. I have used both Yamaha and Korg. If you have a big pocket go with Yamaha else stick one with Korg. Yamaha's tyros holds a some advantage than PA4X in sound quality, Korg leads when it come to flexibility. But you have to have a big pocket for that. To my opinion PA600 is better than PSR s750.
Joms Mohan good hear your testimony on this review.. do we have an option of multipads on korg pa900 like in yamaha boards. which board has better portamento
Multipad option is there in Korg bt I'm not sure how well it perform as yamaha's multipad since I have't used it. Joystick in Korg is awesome when compared to yamaha. I have to mention that if u are on for the Piano sound, go for yamaha. If u are an one man band go for korg.
There are some samples from the Korg that I do like very much; some can even sound crispier than certain ones on the Yamaha on a side-by-side comparison, but post production in a mix, forget it, YAMAHA HAS GOT IT RIGHT, and it will sound right, it delivers... definitely Yamaha does win in many ways more than one. You do understand Yamaha is superior in that regard.
hi! i, personally don't like this comparison videos because the factory sounds and styles are not with the best settings, so i have got a korg pa 900 and because of the many of possibilities. You can for example edit all the drums, sounds, mic settings, you can personalise everything if you want to. I personally don't know this yamaha keyboard, both keyboards are amazing good, i think, but all my musician friends saying the korg keyboards are with the personalisation better. i don't know, but i want to see rather more videos just without factory styles and settings. This can give you the right viewpoint, what your keyboard really can do! :) thx to read this (sorry for my english) Tamás
Different sounds are better in one Organ than the other. It all depends on what type of instruments, styles and rhythms you like to play most. To me both Keyboards are very good in certain areas but the final selection depends on what style of music you like to play most !
i am getting sick of people getting brand-blind too much biased. I must agree Yamaha has some sound I like more and some sounds of Korg seems better, but problem is you cannot have them both, so you have to choose one. And if you have chosen one brand than there is always a better product higher in model..and if you have the top model than also you ain't satisfied if there is a newer version. I think the perfect keyboard will never be made. Complex buying behavoir I guess..
look lets not get into a fight compare this yourself that Is yamaha motif xf sound quality can be compared with korg krome or kronos ? you only tell me
Musical Gamer I will never fight :D but making a blanket statement like that is no good man. As pointed out in original comment, every brand has to offer something unique and obviously you cant have it all in one :(
+review collector, confidentials comment wasn't directed at the reviewer, it was directed at the people in the comments section just stating one is superior to the other without any details or their thoughts on why they think that. Hell they don't even say "For me, Korg/Yamaha is better". Just look at the top comments just below the video. So I agree with him. The Yamaha has some better sounds and the Korg has other better sounds. Even then, it depends on the genre you're going for. So in that sense I agree that people should play/listen to a piano/keyboards sounds to see what will suit their genre and what sounds they prefer. But these people in these comments AREN'T giving their thoughts, they're mealing stating one is better than the other...
I just purchased the Yamaha Psr-Sx700 yesterday, then a friend of mine talked to me about the Pa 900! That is cheaper than the sx-700. I was amazed by the realism of the phrases on the PA-900 (the guitars, brasses, violins and strings!) . I love Yamaha, but i've always noticed a "vintage sound quality" on Korg series! Now I wanna sell my sx-700! 😅 .
Anyone who knows which one is more user friendly, easier to read menus, less crowded screen, over all better to maneuver, any ways voices and styles can be modified by downloads, thanks
It's always a battle of clarity vs dynamics,Yamaha goes for clarity when Korg opts for great dynamics . I have played both the keys, both are great, must say Yamaha is more user friendly specially for the beginners while Korg is profession oriented . If you are a beginner go for the regular Yamaha psr series. If you are a pro then Korg stand's tall,It is literally a portable recording studio.
I think PA900 has smaller simpling size with plastic and cold sound. However I like the style of distortion guitar on PA900. I always discontent with YAMAHA's strings sound. The strings on my motif XS is more artificial than on my Roland FA.
See...I dont think people who picked Korg understand. just because it has a brighter tone than the 970, doesnt mean it sounds better. its all about the realism. not the brightness.
I played both of these in the shop before buying. I just found the Yamaha sounded more electronic and had much better dance music potential. So bought the PSR S670.
I like the korg better it's had a more realistic sound but I'm about to learn the saxophone and keyboard so I'm going for a Yamaha ez 220 keyboard unless korg has something better
whats the best piano sound is depending on who is listening, real pianos also have different timbre To, and with the same models it is impossible to clone one instrument there will always be individual of differences on the same piano even by the same identical model
I'm for Yamaha's sounds even if I like Korg Electric piano, strings & Brass, it has also some good rythmics. Yamaha's Violin, viola, Saxophone, guitar are nearest the real sounds. But I like both of them indeed .
Hi Guys. Well now even I can hear differences. But which model is better regarding to access of different sound and do quickly composition like drums, chord progression...etc.. for guitar player means for me and my friend. We are guitarist and would like to use this cool toys as rest of the band. I dont know anything about usage but prefere good sound not sound of toy like cheap Casio. Thanks a lot for hints which model is fulfilling my needs. Should be cheaper or more expensive I dont care.
i have played both arrangers at a guitar center in my. I will not be bias in my review over these arrangers for I use their products when I play with some of the best in the music industry. Keyboard action: YAMAHA'S feels softer than the KORG'S. KORG has little resistant like a semi weighted should feel and aftertouch is a plus. Ergonomics: Both are good actually buttons and benders are layed out nicely. the only thing korg has edege on this is the touch screen. after you go back to playing yamaha you keep on touching the screen. Screen: I give yamaha this one. its bright and there is a lot of contrast and is very visible in all angles. Korg kinda glares at certain angle making it hard to see whats in front of the screen. i even tried to adjust the brightness on it but still the same. Audio recording: Wav file vs Mp3. i give credit to yamaha Sounds on built in speakers: Korg is more punchy and rounded but still not satisfying, while Yamaha sounds thin even playing with styles its still does not cut in right. i base this sound review in an old yamaha pf1000 built in speakers which sound so satisfying. butmaybe if we put a descent near field monitors on this one it will sound good. Styles : korg gets this one it more realistic and feels natural. but if compare to yamahas real drummer and percussion audio style yamaha kick korg on this one , the only downside is there is not a lot of this kind of style. Instrument sounds: Honestly both of them sounds good if you put on some good pair of headphones and plug it in a good system. But if you will rely on the built in speakers, it will not give justice to the quality of sounds on this arrangers. conclusion: my decision will not be base on how good they sound coz both of them sounds really good if plug in a good system. but will bas3 my decision on how it feel on my fingers. I will go for Korg that little resistant and aftertouch on the keys are the deal breaker for me.
niceDhoom Dhoom is korg pa900 better then psr970. do korg has multipad option as like in yamaha keyboards? I like Indian rhythms and tones with portamento and glisando please suggest
They're both sound good. Yamaha sound is pre mixed, little brighter and added reverb on most of its voices. Unlike korg which sound dry and flat. Its no good sound for first impression, however if you mix properly the korg sound and add some Rev and effects as most arrangers do. I belive it will sound far better and realistic than Yamaha.
Keyboards in the Price range of 1,800$ to 2,500$ have good sounds and good features. And the Price of these Two Keyboards are almost similar .So, for me it’s from the Player that gives excellent performance.
Nice one Tony, so pleased with the Yamaha PSR-S970 I purchased from you.
To be honest: They have their own advantages. I like the organs and electric pianos from KORG more than those in a Yamaha.
Yamaha wins with guitars, winds and pianos.
Both complete each other perfectly

use both of them to support my performance. Though my use Korg pa 900 for style and yamaha psr s970 for voice . the result was perfect .
Very nice video! Congratulations!!!
nice video! good play!
both keyboards sound great withe + and - each others!
I just bought Yamaha PSR S970 !
super nice choise
How much was it and does it's has good qualities as far as sounds
It is a Best keyboard in Yamaha company
I like the two instruments
each has its sonido.- its rhythm
korg rhythms are performed much better
for my taste the Korg pa900
regards
Exellent demo dude!!!
Thanks!!
Both very nice gadgets..
For my taste ;

P.S. Would like to see a comparison of a Casio MZ-X500 Arranger as well.. Thank You ! :)
one question Does Korg Have Megavoices Like the Yamaha Keyboards, the sounds that are only used by styles and midi.
Excellent demo!!
Thank you very much!
How can i connect an external midi Controler keyboard e.g nektar 88 midi controller to my Korg Pa900
s970 much better!
Korg pa ...Extra Power Button on the face of the keyboard. ...for what it is used ? Thank you 😊😊😊😊
To the Indian users, go for PA 900. It has some cool stufs like
1) Thabala kit- its tone cane be adjusted to the relative scales.

Joms Mohan For the extra Indian sounds expansion they give away for "free" for PA900, they charge ₹20,000 more than the US version.
I love the best great sound yes sir
awesome intro music.

Depend situation when electone i use korg when solo piano i use psr
Excellent demonstrator!!!
Thank you very much. Really pleased that you enjoy our demos!
You are very professional or!
Yamaha psr 970 has more feature added .. psr 970 has Guitar Amplifier simulator like Mesa boogie, marshall , jazz choruzz .l, etc ..
Vorrei un consigli.ho la pa900 quale pedale per il sustain è più indicato.grazie
agora a yamaha ta batendo de frente com a korg mais ainda acho que a korg tem mais recursos
Can you tell me, how to make the power Always on?
Excellent demo...
Thank you very much for your comment!
Is he a product demo man or great musician..... ...nice figuring great playing
He's obviously both!
Pa1000 vs par 975 which board best please tel me frnds
I love both
The first song with Korg, what's the name of it? iydm. Very nice song.
actually I used both but the good tone quality in KORG. honestly
Which keyboard should I buy korg600 or Yamaha 775.
I have Korg Pa300. Sounds and styles are the same as in Korg Pa600 and Pa900. They are high quality. Yamaha seems good too.
Question is which one is more friendly and easy access to get to ,one click 2 click s 3 clocks ?
ruclips.net/video/cM1d1gviEDE/видео.html watch it
Have both
The Korg does a decent job but the YAMAHA sounds more "acoustic" and richer.
ruclips.net/video/cM1d1gviEDE/видео.html Watch new korg
Funny, I thought the exact opposite
KORG absolutely !
Different sounds are better in one Organ than the other. It all depends on what type of instruments, styles and rhythms you like to play most. To me both Keyboards are very good in certain areas but the final selection depends on what style of music you like to play most !
I totally agree 100%! I now have the Yamaha Genos and the Korg Pa1000, a brilliant partnership.

I think you needed to play more of the higher notes on the distorted guitar for both of then to get a proper idea of the sound.
It's always a battle of clarity vs dynamics,Yamaha goes for clarity when Korg opts for great dynamics . What is the price of psr 970 in dollars?
Korg pa 900 is great in nature 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Both arrangers are good choose which you wont or which are right for you
How about dangdut, Indonesian music???
I love both Korg & Yamaha.

Donde puedo comprar uno
i have played both arrangers at a guitar center in my. I will not be bias in my review over these arrangers for I use their products when I play with some of the best in the music industry.
Keyboard action:

Audio recording:
Wav file vs Mp3. i give credit to yamaha
Sounds on built in speakers:
Korg is more punchy and rounded but still not satisfying, while Yamaha sounds thin even playing with styles its still does not cut in right.
i base this sound review in an old yamaha pf1000 built in speakers which sound so satisfying.
butmaybe if we put a descent near field monitors on this one it will sound good.
Styles :
korg gets this one it more realistic and feels natural.
but if compare to yamahas real drummer and percussion audio style yamaha kick korg on this one , the only downside is there is not a lot of this kind of style.

I will go for Korg that little resistant and aftertouch on the keys are the deal breaker for me.
great but why not stereo recording?
its the sound mixing
I like this mucic
Cool .
for voices quality is good choice to select the yamaha. for a good live performance is right choice to go with korg.
YOU make NO sense at all!
Why is sound in mono?
what's the difference between s950 and s970
is it better to go with Roland fa06 over an arranger.
please help
Bro roland fa06 is syenthesizer keyboard and yamaha 970 is aranger and aranger is best for personal user
niceDhoom Dhoom is korg pa900 better then psr970.
do korg has multipad option as like in yamaha keyboards?
I like Indian rhythms and tones with portamento and glisando
please suggest
Nice very nice
Live music is amazing ;)
They're both sound good. Yamaha sound is pre mixed, little brighter and added reverb on most of its voices. Unlike korg which sound dry and flat. Its no good sound for first impression, however if you mix properly the korg sound and add some Rev and effects as most arrangers do. I belive it will sound far better and realistic than Yamaha.
Samiweng Ti Cordillera then why not adjust the yamaha as well? I'm sure it'll become an overkill🖤
You yourself appear to enjoy playing yhe KORG more.... Great sounds!!
KORG is The Best... Realistic sounds
Key sizes are good width as well
Yamaha PSR S970👍

I love korg PA 900and Yamaha, .God is good.
sir my self Aman from india. can you suggest me best keyboards atleast 70000 rs. max 80000rs.
Aman music go for Yamaha 950 or 970 I have both of them.. they are great
Korg çoncert guitar is really good.
...But I think both are great
Yamaha has style, a rhythm that only matches for one song
