It's so enjoyable to see your excitement at not only catching the swarm, but your ingenuity in how you went about it. I love the three generation effort. You guys are awesome.
Congratulations Honey Girl (AKA MacGyver )! How many have you caught this spring? I love all of your videos but the swarm vids are the best by far. With that said I have an announcement to make: BE YE KNOWN BY ALL PEOPLE THAT THE HONEY GIRL HAS A THANG FOR SWARMS!!!
Thanks for sharing this, it's winter here so enjoying watching you and family out there catching swarms has been a lot of fun. This also gives me some ideas for next spring. Enjoy the summer.
Just starting out with beekeeping. Loving your videos. Most 'expert' beekeeping videos make me feel inadequate. Yours, somehow not! And always a giggle.
Oh my gosh, Brigitte, that was funny! 😂! Kaylee the best times spent with your Mom are worth more than all of King Midas' gold! Ya'll reminds me of my Mom and me. So many silly moments, more of them when I was grown! Cherished memories and Ella will remember that day for her whole life. 💞
Nice catch! I just had and caught my first swarm here yesterday from one of my hives. It was in a cedar tree... but only about 7 feet off the ground or so.
Congrats on another fine swarm catch. That looks like a big one too! Thanks for taking us along for the adventure. I do have a question though, and am trying to understand. I have always heard and understood that when a colony swarms, it's always the older queen that takes 1/2 of the colony with her when she swarms. Hence leaving the newer, younger queen behind to start the whole life cycle of building up the remainder of the colony over again. With that process in mind, what do you think that the scenario would be, or why would there be two different aged queens in the same swarm?
Awesome video, got a question, im a first time keeper and installed my first NUC on Sunday into a 10 frame deep, i put a pail feeder on top of the inner cover and thought my honey super box would be talk enough to put the telescoping lid on and clear the pail, 1 gal pail, but had to put another deep on it. At first i just put the feeder over the hole and thought they may cause ventilation issues do i shimmed it about a 1/4 inch, temps in NE Missouri will be in the 40’s at night but with warmer temps later in the week with rain, will they be ok with temp control with that other deep on top?
Another great swarm catch & two for the price of one. Congrats! Love the name of the hive. My sister & I have a friend that calls us the twisted sisters. Too funny. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🐝😁🙏🙏🙏
Do you ever lend or rent your hives to farmers? Here in DE. We see farm fields from time to time with stacks of hives placed off the road. Usually they are watermelon fields. Just curious.
Rarely anything goes to plan anyway, improvising is the plan , Macgyver taught a lot of us it seems . Anything does and nothing won’t . . Another 2 hives , ye may extend that apiary .
I agree! We checked them yesterday. It has been a little over a week and I was very pleased that both girls are playing. We also found out some really cool information about their breed. They are ankle biter’s. They came from the neighbor who had a few hives of that breed and he actually gave us both of his hives because they are getting ready to move. So we ended up splitting the three hives and catching two swarms... we’re very excited to add this genetics to our apiary.
@@TheHoneystead Wow, 1 iffy call to your mom equaled 5 new hives, all 5 have Queens, all 5 are healthy and new genetics with a history. Now that can't happen often! Just think if you got the call and passed....

I would love to have my own Honey Queen or two, but I don't even have a daughter by now. 😊

Glad you are looking for Multi Queens. Most swarms have them just most fail to look
Awesome two swarms in one, love nature and creativity it's been a very bussy season, bee happy and safe.
Beautiful ladies out taming some wild bees...showed my mom this maybe she'll get into beekeeping.

Man u having a great season, you gonna be at 100 hives soon ! Congratulations!!!
That awkward moment when you call a girl 'Honey', and no one thinks you're a creep! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Three generations with the same face. Great family experience. 👍🏻
Go Mamma!!! You just did a 3 generation swarm catch! Great catch × 2! :)

❤️ mom came up with the name :)
I love your videos. 😀😀😀
Awesome family event 10/10
So at 3:30, are they fanning pheromone into the air to indicate they've found a home? Calling the rest of the swarm in?
And a whole generation said "who?" 😄
I was thinking the same thing "Wonder how many younger people know who that is?"
Remember they did a remake but it does not have the same feeling as the original.
@@danielbarker5101 It never is is it? :)
HHaha
🤣😂
If there's no queens in those 5%of the swarm, they'll come back in their hive by night. 😊
Love the channel, new subscriber,,, im Joe from Bunnies n Bzzz microfarm, just wondering where you get your bee supplies from
Good job that was a very large swarm.
Hy. Iove your smile.

Insane amount of Bees there. Great catch. When you catch these, do you ever mark the Queens?
I don’t :) I’ll be sharing why very soon!
Rarely anything goes to plan anyway, improvising is the plan , Macgyver taught a lot of us it seems . Anything does and nothing won’t . . Another 2 hives , ye may extend that apiary .
lol
I live those bee suits! They look very sturdy. Where do you get them? Or what brand
They are!!! Massive Bee Store is where we ordered them from!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Congratulations on such a large swarm! Two queens? Does that happen often?
Yes and no! Large swarms are more likely.
Which bees are there? ?
Eres muy linda
Never ... I mean never stop folling your dreams
What do you do with the second queen? I thought they the queens fought?
Watch til the end ❤️
I didn't think they swamed together but that's really cool that you got 2 hives from 1swarm.
I'm from India( mountain range) actually here are rear Apis serana indica bees

Hey Kayleigh (sp??), where do you get your bee suits?
Hey there! I got it from Massive Bee store! They are very nicely made!

Hahaha

OMG I love you! Do you have a sister?❤
i would say the 1 Queen was mated and the other 1 was not. thats also common
