We decided on 2 x 11kg Gaslo refillable bottles with all the European adaptors just in case, when one is empty it's only then we decide to look for a refil. One 11kg last us a while and it takes the worry out of desperately looking for a top up. I did look at an underslung tank but wanted to keep my spare wheel tucked away in that space the tank would have used. Great post you two put on, I also fitted an external Bullfinch gas BBQ outlet which is very handy. Keep up the great work.
United Kingdom Left hand drive Motorhome I have never had a problem getting LPG in Italy. I try to fuel up with Diesel or LPG off the main autostrada. Having an 11kg and also a 6kg the small bottle is left switch off until big bottle is nearly empty. I try to refill the small bottle with the higher propane mixture in winter. André and Lisa you give very useful how we did it information.
😁 We're starting to think it's just us Italian vans that can't get LPG in Italy . When we were in Morocco now, they only have butane - not great at all for cold temperatures. Our heater just refused to work around 2C.
Getting an underslung refillable lpg tank was the thing we ever did for our van. Just sent photos of the underside of the van to Autogas 2000 and they confirmed that they could fit a 30 litre tank. It gave us space in the gas locker box for ' our door' things such as chocs, EHU, water hoses etc. ❤
Our experience of LPG in Europe and Morocco is similar to yours, Eastern Europe has really good availability as there are still plenty of LPG vehicles. Have just finished a years tour in the USA with our U.K. truck camper, really good lpg availability everywhere as still a main source of fuel for towns and rural areas, the gas adaptor in the European kit for Germany and Ireland fits throughout US and Canada.
Thank you André and Misa, that one was very informative. I’m going to install a composite bottle with a separate inlet and outlet in my campervan. Lpg in Belgium coats 0,61€ . Thanks again !
Agree with you Andre & Lisa. We converted to refillable LPG 2 years ago just before we went full time travellers. It’s so easy just to fill at fuel stations. Mind you in the UK I think it’s getting harder and harder to find LPG! Nice of you to mention that for all us Brits!
Hi Martin and Eileen! We watched your Turkey summery video a few days ago. Turkey is on our list for next year spring time 🤞. Although refillable LPG might pose some challenges in the UK it's brilliant for Europe. All the best to you!
@@Walter_on_Tour Thanks, we haven't planned much yet. We're starting to think we're not leaving enough time though. It's this never-ending challenge to beat the peak season and not get caught in the worst of winter or summer temperatures.
It's so weird that only in Italy it's a problem. We've been refused twicd. And we drive an Italian van and speak the language 😁 Perhaps that's the problem.
Hi Andre and Lisa, relatively new to your channel but now I’m borderline obsessed 😂. How do you guys manage to spend so much time in Schengen countries I would love to know 😁?
11min 17sec🤣....although brilliant info as usual, thanks! Our van had LPG but the previous owner took it out have two gas bottles and doing a 5 week European trip so will be fine, but might reinstall for when we do much longer trips.
I have Skip all the stupid gas.... 2 x 300amp Lithiums (li time batterys), 3 x 200w solar panels on roof and 220w portable solar panel, when park in shade. DC DC 30amp and 230v/35amp changer to fill up for the longer raining days (full give about one week). Running airfryer, induktion hob with no problems...(3000w inverter) That's freecamp / grind free life ❤). Got a diesel heater too...
That's awesome! That's the way to go. But we have an older motorhome so the gas was already there. Everything runs on gas. But we do have 600w of solar on the roof 😁
Finishing building very similar setup, with 2 x 430W solars (home solars, much cheaper, if you can fit them). The LiFePO4 batteries look promising from my home tests as well, so looking forward to going fully LPG-less.
@@bartiz12 Since we switched to LifePO4 we realize how little power we actually use. If (when) any gas appliance fail we would replace with a combo of electric and diesel.
You guys are the best! You two are our 'go to' youtubers for when we need info, our question is what length selfie stick do you use for your 360 camera and what software do you use to edit the 360 footage? Plus... some tips how to use the 360 camera on the stick for the best effects? Cheers both 😊
Thank you! We're planning a video on our cameras and filming. But it's an easy answer. 😊 We have 2 sticks for the 360. A 3m which is tricky to use but makes for very cool fake drone shots. Our favorite is the Insta360 2-in-1 1.5m with the built in tripod. We edit the 360 footage in Insta360 Studio then import to Davinci Resolve Studio. The new Insta360 Studio actually now has some decent editing tools by itself as well.

Yes the UK geyying less and less LPG stations . My guess europe will follow as the quanty bought by motorhomes is tiny compared to what it wanted to sell to lpg powered vehicles. Still I will take a long time as EVs are in greater numbers. You can still get at main LPG on industrial outlets in the UK. I thought about coverting eight yeasr ago Took me 5 mins to decide not to ,mainly as we not full time and the initnal cost did not add up to how many bottles I would use in five years Expected time I would keep the van .( just sold after eight years ) For now we just carry the correct bottles for where we are going . Everybodys situation is different so what suits one may not suit another. Keep the content coming.
Quite correct. It very much depends on where you go and for how long. For extended periods across multiple countries (like us) it's indispensable. s you say it's probably just a matter of time before it gets less available in more parts. In some countries like Denmark LPG as a fuel never took off and there's virtually zero demand so in return there's no refill stations. Although I must admit that LPG as a vehicle fuel source is VERY popular in many regions.
Very informative guys, I only use gas for cooking, to be honest, I don't do alot of that. 😂 Mainly for boiling water, I love my tea. I have Camping Gaz, bottle lasting about a year. Cheers 👍🐸
Hey you guys, yes i’am still here 😂. We were in Italy and wanted to refill LPG but the joungman of the gasstation told us that he couldn’t fill the LPG tank because of the new law in Italy you mentioned that says no vehicles with domestic purposes can fill LPG.
