It's not really a surprise. It's for the investors. Hey we know Starfield didn't do well, but look at the hype we have for Elder Scrolls 6, our next big game. Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls 5 after the blowback from Fallout 76. Fallout 5 was announced after the blowback of Starfield. Now Microsoft proper demands increased margins, so the question remains do they need Bethesda proper when their lead writer is terrible and their engine dated. Sure the show brought in the casual consumers, "hype train current thingers" to be specific, but they are a fickle lot. Ask Nintendo. No telling if they'll stick around for a few years until Bethesda's next game.

I think Indy, Avowed, Gears 6, Shattered Space, and Doom sound like they're all pretty safe bets. If you then add the Gears collection (if its actually a major overhaul), Perfect Dark, and Forza Horizon, then you've got a pretty good conference. Throw in a few more surprises, and it could truly be great! Last year was a fantastic conference, imo. They had been missing the mark for a few years, hopefully this year can continue to give us reason to be excited!
What happened to Everwild ? That game (trailers and art style) looked so artistic, visually stunning and mesmerizing. I really want to see its gameplay.
As far as I know, Everwild was just an art style and that’s it. I guess the devs didn’t even know what kind of game to make with it, thus development hell with that game

The problem is those developers might actually want the additional revenue from being multiplatform especially when they see other studios benefitting.

@@alejandrogomez720 that isn’t true. Developers do get paid bonuses based on sales metrics and even hitting certain download goals on gamepass. It is going to vary from studio to studio and it’s based on whatever contractual agreements they have but it isn’t just a flat rate to make a game with no strings attached. There is probably even stipulations put in place saying that they make more or less for hitting development milestones and meeting release dates.

Want to know my theory of why Ninja Theory is safe from being closed no matter how Senua's Saga does? Because they are the Performance capture and Unreal 5 masters. Their support is going to raise the presentation level of all of Xbox’s AAA games. I bet their work will be on display in Gears 6 and Perfect Dark.

I have absolutely tempered my expectations when it comes to Microsoft publishing games, I am always left disappointed, I can't remember the last time I have played an Xbox game and said ,"oh my God this is the greatest game ever."
This is what I think of PlayStation games. They are the most overrated games in the industry. Everyone talks how they are so great, but most of the games are just average and sometimes even boring to be honest.
Hellblade 2 Has set the bar for what this gens graphics should be. It's frustrating it took half a console life to really see it. As most games the last 4 years have come out half assed, half finished, and broken.
honestly i would prefer a fallout 3 remaster to a remake, i think if they remade it they would get rid of the dark textures and try and make it colourful like fallout 4
but they won't all be shown. MS usually never shows more than 10 per showcase. Here the actual showcase. Gears 6, Doom, Towerborne, ARA, Flight Sim 24, Perfect Dark, Zenimax Online Game, Call of Duty, Avowed And Indy.

Great video. Looking forward to Perfect Dark, Doom, Indiana Jones, a new Banjo (I've enjoyed my time with Yooka-Laylee games), Wu-Tang sounds cool. Contraband is my most anticipated game though, that game just sounds really cool. I'm cool waiting until 2025, preferably during the first half to avoid GTA VI. Aside from that, yeah sweet lineup, I am a little nervous about the number of games potentially slated for Holiday 2024, but we'll see! I just want dates for these games, give us day and month dates! Fingers crossed that all these games will rock and that we get some awesome shadow drops after the Showcase!
I'm optimistic but I'm also realistic. I have no doubt that all of this will be revealed. The real question is "are we gonna get release dates?" A lot of those were revealed like 5 years ago. If they get revealed only for it to be said that they're "deep in development" ...I dunno. I also now understand the purpose behind remakes now more than ever. It buys time. I don't mind playing a remake of a favorite, but xbox needs to drop some hefty first party AAA games asap

My prediction for the show: Xbox is going to show a lot of great looking games however the narrative after the show is going to be 'they didn't show x, y, or z games.

I have Gears of War 1 Ultimate edition on Xbox but I would for sure buy it again on PC with the collection. Hoping it will support smart delivery so I can play on both systems.
I don't get why people get upset with Xbox games being published on PS5, They have more consoles, Xbox games would gain far more money from Xbox, PC and Ps. That would Mean more revenue, more games and less game studios close. Actually PS should do the same.
They bring them to pc eventually but I doubt they’d release for Xbox. It would hurt more than help. People would be more willing to buy an Xbox exclusively if they could just get the ps games on there anyway.

Perfect Dark's 25th Anniversary is in 2025 and the PD games take place in the 20's so no surprise they wanted to drop this in '25.

Right now it's just a rumor it's going to all platforms. Until Xbox announces it I wouldn't put much stock into it.
Exclusives are the biggest problem in gaming. Should be able to play any game you want on the platform you choose.

If doom, elder scrolls and cod go third party it makes sense. But staple games like halo, forza, fable and gears need to stay on xbox and PC.

Perfect dark, Fallout 3 Remastered, Elder Scrolls 6, Fable, Forza Horizon 6, Blade, and Final Fantasy XVI are not showing up….
Hellblade 2 Has set the bar for what this gens graphics should be. It's frustrating it took half a console life to really see it. As most games the last 4 years have come out half assed, half finished, and broken.

Great video. Looking forward to Perfect Dark, Doom, Indiana Jones, a new Banjo (I've enjoyed my time with Yooka-Laylee games), Wu-Tang sounds cool. Contraband is my most anticipated game though, that game just sounds really cool. I'm cool waiting until 2025, preferably during the first half to avoid GTA VI. Aside from that, yeah sweet lineup, I am a little nervous about the number of games potentially slated for Holiday 2024, but we'll see! I just want dates for these games, give us day and month dates! Fingers crossed that all these games will rock and that we get some awesome shadow drops after the Showcase!
I'm optimistic but I'm also realistic.
I have no doubt that all of this will be revealed.
The real question is "are we gonna get release dates?"
A lot of those were revealed like 5 years ago.
If they get revealed only for it to be said that they're "deep in development" ...I dunno.
I also now understand the purpose behind remakes now more than ever.
It buys time. I don't mind playing a remake of a favorite, but xbox needs to drop some hefty first party AAA games asap

My prediction for the show:

I don't get why people get upset with Xbox games being published on PS5, They have more consoles, Xbox games would gain far more money from Xbox, PC and Ps. That would Mean more revenue, more games and less game studios close. Actually PS should do the same.
They bring them to pc eventually but I doubt they’d release for Xbox. It would hurt more than help. People would be more willing to buy an Xbox exclusively if they could just get the ps games on there anyway.
