Wonderfully done. Thank you Helen for the clear, step-by-step process and techniques used. Never thought to use Tyvek to reinforce the spine. Lovely paper collection, I’m a new stubbie smiles from down under 😀👍.
Helen, I love your projects! Always so pretty, and I love the attention to detail. One little idea...I have found that if I run my bone folder along the edges of my cover, before starting to bend the paper, it will bend much easier, and stays in place!
Your mini album is genius to use the paper bags for the pages. Your gorgeous mini album comes from such humble beginings, you'd never know. We loved your design choices and the immensity of this album is fabulous. What a keepsake this would make!! Congrats on your new printer and getting a Cricut! You are probably already loving the Cricut as it is so handy at cutting out all of the elements to use so you can assemble so much quicker.
Helen, thank you so much for your tutorial, that is the first I’ve seen using the paper bags with a hinge! Thank you. The reason I clicked on this video was because of the Nitwit paper you used I wanted to see how you used it, LOVE IT! I can’t even imagine what is ahead with your new printer and Cricut! Thank you for sharing!
What a lovely memory book! I have some bookbinding cloth in my stash if I ever decide to undertake this project. Clever to use paper bags for this; my only concern would be that they aren't acid-free, and might yellow and stain in time. But given the motif, I suppose that might add to a "antiqued" patina. :) Love the "hinge" bookbinding style!
Another reason to add liquid glue on top of the two sided tape is so you have a little wiggle room and a little bit of time to adjust your paper just right. I love your tutorial. I am going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing
You have such a talent for making books Helen! I love seeing all the 'NitWit' papers that you use. I am a bit of a dimwit when it comes to up/down loading and printing anything! I too want a 'Cri-cut Air' but I am scared of investing in one and not being able to use it to it's full purpose. I saw one being used at the CHSI-stitches trade show back in February. Soo - thanks for your demo on how to print out the 'NitWit collections' and other papers and I'm looking forward to you demoing the Cricut Air too! Happy Easter to you and your boys!
Hi Helen, well, you've gone and done it...got me hooked on NitWit. LOL...I just love their papers and embellishments, and the price is right too...I'm trying to do your mini album, but having a hard time trying to get the right size bags...I'm going to have to compromise and make my own sleeves I guess...Ann in Canada
Hi Ann, Hoping you can find the right size bags - mine were found under the term 'lunch bags'. If you need to resize the covers, make them 0.25" larger than the bags and keep the spine at 2" wide. Hope that helps and good luck :)
the papers are very beautiful I also use the stack the deck binding all the time, I think it's easy to make and it works really well your album is so clean everywhere, I always have papers I didn't cut well or I have glue somewhere xD I've been scrapping for 2 years now (I'm 15) but I'm still bad at cutting😂 greetings from Germany😁 and sry if there are mistakes in the text
Hello, I've just begun watching these crafting tutorials. I'm wondering, where do these gifted people learn to do these things? Is there a school for this? Please, someone reply!
Hi Karen, We pretty much learn everything from each other here on RUclips! 5 yrs ago I wanted to know how to make a gift bag and discovered paper bag mini albums....here I am all those years later making my own tutorials!
Yes could you please tell the model of the printer and maybe a link for the printer and paper. Love the album. Too sweet. Yes, I too put glue on my shirt..LOL
Could you speak louder, as I have had difficulty hearing your instructions and my volume is as high as it will go. Would rather you were really loud, and use my option to turn my volume down. You have a beautiful but soft voice, and I don't want to miss any of your instructions.
