  • I'm done with winter camping and all things frozen. I decided to make it summer around here by setting up the monster tent, filling the water tower and refinishing the picnic table in order to carve all the Patreon donor names in it. You folks are awesome!
Because I’ve gotten so many questions about the gear that I use on the channel, here are some of the most important pieces I use every day:
My Favorite Piece of Gear- Chainsaw Helmet amzn.to/3uuW5xB
    Granberg Chainsaw Mill amzn.to/3cdRXvn
How I Keep the Mosquitoes Away! amzn.to/3frenvh
    Big, Black Log-Peeling Knife - Becker BK9 amzn.to/3oZIeOH
The Trailer I Use Behind My 4 Wheeler- Yutrax amzn.to/3fvO8DK
Bug Net Rooms I Use amzn.to/3uwOK0l
Heaters in My Tent and the Deer Castle amzn.to/3frQ7Jh
Thank you all so much for supporting this crazy endeavor! Without you folks donating to Surviving Ringworm, I wouldn't be able to even consider staying out here in the wilderness a second year making videos. You seriously blow my mind!
    / survivingringworm
(As a thank-you for donating $5 or more a month through Patreon, I will carve your name into the picnic table and show it in an upcoming episode.)

There may be a seep or spring somewhere upstream. Look for the source in rock outcroppings and you may find that it runs year round and can be tapped at the source. The area may be very green this time of year and the drone could help spot it. That's a lot of water for just drainage.

IDEA: This is my idea for my water tank to keep it from freezing up in the winter.
I plan to put mine on the backside of my cabin, up against the cabin. Then enclose it, and insulate the walls. Then cut a 1'x2' hole through the wall, and attach a vent cover. All you have to do then, is keep the wood stove in the cabin going. The heat from the wood stove will travel through the vent enough to keep the water tank from freezing.
Plus, with the tank being beside the cabin, it would be easy to do a rain catchment system off the roof of the cabin in the water tank. That'd kill two birds with one stone.

Since you have IBC totes, get a couple more and make yourself an outdoor shower like this guy... ruclips.net/video/qzIIP1LqKTQ/видео.html
Use a camp heater for a propane tankless water heater. These heaters are available at sprawl-mart or other big box stores. You have the technology Ryan and your lady may appreciate the opportunity. With a closable door you may be able to use it year around. Stay safe out there. Peace brother.

Don't worry about it! Life happens.
Carving names isn't about money. It's just to say thanks for caring and supporting. You did that.

It would work but it's super loud. I was planning to just make it gravity feed to a shower head but found that I actually like the pan just fine.

I see all of that wood burning, and energy wasted. Can't help thinking you could have a steam generator, to charge all of your power packs.

Why not build a roof structure over the tent so you don’t have to worry about snow loads? Maybe even just a frame and a plexiglass (if you can get your hands on it for cheap) roof so sun light can still get through?

I’m confused about the lectures- are you slightly surviving ringworm or are you thriving on ringworm? There’s a whiny component but, I’m just a peasant

Poly is just about the worst wood finish ever. It always scratches, dosnt protect and needs to be completely sanded off to recoat. Honestly for a picnic table in the woods like that I would use motor oil. Used motor oil if you want it dark, transmission oil of you want a red tone or new motor oil for a more clear finish.

When it all peels off, it'll get tranny fluid! Half covered in bar oil already...
