There are so many talented all-female bands in Japan, but in my opinion Lovebites are the finest. So much incredible talent. ‘Holy War’ is their most viewed on RUclips, but all of their songs are great. To see how well Miyako (dark haired guitarist) can also play the grand piano, check out ‘Swansong with the Chopin Intro’. I was privileged to see them live in London in July.

Welcome to the 8th Wonder of the World!!!!! This show was the first show I saw that got me hooked. The intro song, Thunder Vengeance, is one of the best concert intros I have seen in a long time. The song itself is one of their Thrashier songs and is awesome!!! They just did some shows in the U.S. and Korea. With this song, they start off by getting the crowd into the song. There is a video of the Korean show, a outdoor show, where Lovebites goes out into the crowd while playing this song. They have come a long way in their stage performance and their new music is getting even better.

Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. You've found an awesome rabbit hole with LOVEBITES' 60+ self-penned songs and 3 covers (plus side projects) performed by 5 elite musicians, that cover a great range of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. Each song is kind of different, expect to be surprised, all good songs, some of them real masterpieces, no fillers, no weak songs, no weak band member (when the founding bassist left for personal reasons, they found a 20 yo prodigy to fill that spot with a worldwide audition of 250+ participants). They've just finished a world tour 2024 with 17 shows in 16 towns and 10 countries in Europe/UK, Korea, Tokyo/Japan, USA. LOVEBITES is a heavy metal band, but it has nothing to do with decadent lyrics, drugs, tattoos, or growling. Some of their songs are heavy and deal with past wars, but on the whole they are positive, with some songs that one might be tempted to call “happy metal.” They also wear “white stage clothes,” which seems out of place for a heavy metal band. This is because most of them were short and had a prominent day length, and with the exception of Asami (vocalist), who was an R&B/Jazz singer, the other members had been in several metal bands and were tired of the black costumes. Of course, there was a risk of not being accepted and becoming isolated in this costume, but they dared to choose a white feminine costume and made the wolf the symbol of the band, saying, “Even if we are treated like lone wolves, we will do what we want to do. And those who were bitten by LOVEBITES began calling themselves WolfPack.
Hello indeed I really loved that too, it kind of changes from what we usually see from metal bands even tho I have nothing against black clothes or tattoos, but the fact they wear white and smile and that the lyrics seem to be powerful but in a more positive way (as some metal bands with lyrics about negative or dark stuff haha) I absolutely love that!!

This was an excellent live performance of a rather moderate song by them! There are so many talented all-female bands in Japan, but in my opinion Lovebites are the finest. So much incredible talent. ‘Holy War’ is their most viewed on RUclips, but all of their songs are great. To see how well Miyako (dark haired guitarist) can also play the grand piano, check out ‘Swansong with the Chopin Intro’. I was privileged to see them live in London in July.

This show was the first show I saw that got me hooked.
The intro song, Thunder Vengeance, is one of the best concert intros I have seen in a long time. The song itself is one of their Thrashier songs and is awesome!!!
They just did some shows in the U.S. and Korea. With this song, they start off by getting the crowd into the song. There is a video of the Korean show, a outdoor show, where Lovebites goes out into the crowd while playing this song. They have come a long way in their stage performance and their new music is getting even better.

Midori (the blond guitarist) has the nickname "crazy shredder" and this for a good reason. I recommend "Soldier stands solitarily" (live 2023); it is a real banger and perhaps their fastest song. They have a lot of great songs but this one has become one of my favourites.

Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They also played their first US shows this year in September.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs.

You've found an awesome rabbit hole with LOVEBITES' 60+ self-penned songs and 3 covers (plus side projects) performed by 5 elite musicians, that cover a great range of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. Each song is kind of different, expect to be surprised, all good songs, some of them real masterpieces, no fillers, no weak songs, no weak band member (when the founding bassist left for personal reasons, they found a 20 yo prodigy to fill that spot with a worldwide audition of 250+ participants). They've just finished a world tour 2024 with 17 shows in 16 towns and 10 countries in Europe/UK, Korea, Tokyo/Japan, USA. I don't know why I say that, but they were also at Roskilde Festival 2024 on July 4th, 2024. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride!

LOVEBITES is a heavy metal band, but it has nothing to do with decadent lyrics, drugs, tattoos, or growling.
Some of their songs are heavy and deal with past wars, but on the whole they are positive, with some songs that one might be tempted to call “happy metal.”
They also wear “white stage clothes,” which seems out of place for a heavy metal band. This is because most of them were short and had a prominent day length, and with the exception of Asami (vocalist), who was an R&B/Jazz singer, the other members had been in several metal bands and were tired of the black costumes.
Of course, there was a risk of not being accepted and becoming isolated in this costume, but they dared to choose a white feminine costume and made the wolf the symbol of the band, saying, “Even if we are treated like lone wolves, we will do what we want to do.
And those who were bitten by LOVEBITES began calling themselves WolfPack.
Hello indeed I really loved that too, it kind of changes from what we usually see from metal bands even tho I have nothing against black clothes or tattoos, but the fact they wear white and smile and that the lyrics seem to be powerful but in a more positive way (as some metal bands with lyrics about negative or dark stuff haha) I absolutely love that!!

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 11 June 2018, LOVEBITES won '🏆BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.
"Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated.
On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.
LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name.
LOVEBITES performed as a support band for "Arch Enemy's China tour at the Shanghai show on March 23 and the Beijing show on March 24, 2019".
LOVEBITES participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)".

This was an excellent live performance of a rather moderate song by them! By the way, there is also a drum-cam version of this song, i.e. it only shows their drummer Haruna from three different angles on a split screen throughout the entire song: ruclips.net/video/9Rpb1WCayIs/видео.html I recommend watching this for yourself. As regards their other songs, you can't go wrong with any of them.
