Love you most when you “hack away”. It’s a very cute dress and the evolution of these 3 demonstrate that fit and styling for your particular body makes an ok dress perfect! Yes! The pattern is only a suggestion. Thanks again.
I like all 3 dresses. Great job. You are so creative and persistent and you help encourage me to think outside the box with patterns. I may give this pattern a try. It’s a bit more fitted than what I usually wear.
Hi Sybill, it would look great on you!! I enjoyed making it. My first try at ruching. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 If the weather ever gets better, I need another Hearts shopping trip!! ❤️❤️❤️
Such cute dresses! Yes I really like your date nite dress! Cute bra too! You are such a great seamstress! Great ideas you come up with. I too had to make my armholes smaller when I cut the larger size dress pattern Vogue V1748.
Two of my favorite RUclipsrs. Oh you are such an overachiever three dresses. Love the fact that you keep working on it till you are happy. They are all pretty but if you took up the flounce up on the first dress and make it shorter would you like it better. Love the fabric on all three. Keep making those pretty dresses.
I don't usually leave comments but today I had to say that the Blue dress is really elegant! I love the asymmetry and the kicky little flounce. Put on some bling and switch the shoes for a sandal with sparkle and you are ready for the ball. Seriously, I'm impressed with this pattern and your dress. I have a similar body type as yours and would never have considered this pattern before. I sometimes need a fancy little dinner dress and I'm so sick of my skirt and jacket combos. Well done and I love your dress!
Great video. Love how you adapted the pattern. I really liked the skirt on the blue one. Just a bit different from the others. That's what I like, one pattern, lots of different looks xx Debbie x
That was fun! Very creative idea for double date nights. 💕 Could you chop off the blue dress for a top or skirt…or both? It’s such pretty fabric. Off to see Trish! 😊
I actually really liked your cobalt blue dress with the black jacket as a dress up. It is longer than you normally wear but really swingy and flowy and sleek for a night out!
Years ago I was following Trinny and Susannah and their tips and tricks to dress yourself in the most flattering way. One of the things that I still do to this day is a V-neck. V-necks elongate the body and make the top part slimmer, especially if the bust is large. I think this dress looks fabulous with the hacks you did and I know you like the modest neckline but I think a V-neck, be it a modest one, would make it even better. If I were to make this dress I would either add some sleeves or I would narrow the shoulder straps. And I would follow all your hacks!
Yeah, I like your 3rd dress (date night dress) much better than the other two. Good call to shorten it up and to add rouching on the other side also. The effect was very flattering. The shorter style is much more flattering on you. Can you alter the 1st dress and modify it? The fabric is beautiful and would be a shame to go to waste. Nice colab idea!!!!
Your tenacity in hacking patterns to make them exactly what you want is inspiring. I never would have chosen that pattern because of my thick middle but you made it work perfectly for us apples! Thank you for sharing your “make it work” attitude.
Thanks Linda! I feel like I’ve seen some recommendations of ruching for us 🍎🍎🍎 on swimsuits, so why not a dress? I think I will I enjoy wearing these. Especially if it ever warms up!! 😂🥰👏🏻
Thank you for sharing all your hacks. I loved all of your versions and how you styled them.. I won some co.orful, wide striped French terry fom Viv Mom Sews and am looking for ideas on what to do with those stripes. I am 5' 2" tall, so not a lot of space for such a large design. But I'm game. 👍
Oh I love love love your version! Your video is so much better than mine!! Your dress looks beautiful on you, and all versions looked great! I love when you demanded us not to look at your profile. That’s exactly what I was scared of too! This was very fun, and next we will have an in person Collab!!!!!
After seeing this pattern on one of your previous videos,I purchased it as well. I don’t really wear many dresses but would like too. So I made a top from it using just the bodice pieces, I also thought it needed a bit more ruching but I added more elastic going up closer to the bust. It is still a work in progress but I really like the idea of ruching on both sides. Thanks for the inspiration.
Three really cute dresses but you nailed it on the last one. So flattering. I'm in awe of the way you can figure out exactly how to hack a pattern to make it your own. You have a great talent.
All three dresses look so great! I appreciate that you included your measurements and adjustments that you made. I'm a similar size so that is so helpful!
I liked all the dresses, but I agree with you I like the hacked one the best. I love how you know what you like and want then makes it happen! Awesome video as always. xxx
You look fabulous in your date night dress! The ruching on both sides, along with shortening the length before the flounce, really upped the stunning factor :) Thanks for all you share with us!
So glad you had fun on your date nite... this is a cute dress... I like the ruching on both sides better too... on the first dress what do you think of cutting the waist across the front n place a wedge from 1 side to the other n ruch the wedge n insert... with the same fabric it would blend in n with black it would be a design feature... looking forward to more of your trailer videos cause we just bought a new trailer... we have both had campers n trailers but never a "toy hauler" I think this will present some new challenges to dressing it up n living style when we are camping... blessings...
Loved this collab so much! I love the date night twist so we could see the dresses 'out on the town'! Yours turned out so well, all of them look great to be honest but I love the way you added the 'Stephanie touch' and made it your own😊. I was lucky enough to see Trish's dress in real life today and it was just so pretty ❤. Great collab from two amazing people, thank you xx
Really enjoyed today’s video. Enjoyed the evolution of the original pattern to your final hack. I enjoy hacking patterns to my own style too. All three dresses have their own personality even though they are the same design. I think that I want to make more dresses for Spring and Summer this year. I have a lot of knit fabric in my stash so, this would be a good one to try. Thanks for sharing! Love your spunk and up beat personality. So uplifting!😁
I love that you mentioned the original pattern is a suggestion. i agree. I too always seem to change the style of patterns a bit to fit my figure better. Great ideas too minimize the midriff too! I think all three versions are pretty, and great fabric choices too!
Many Zeiman still has videos up that explain her pivot and slide method. That eliminates changing the neckline and armholes. It works great. I love the finished product.
I really like the hacked version on you .I think we're pretty much the same size now after a lot of weight loss on my part . I had a dress almost like this years ago that I loved wearing and appreciate you showing the hack.
Hello, Hello Stephanie! I got that 8642 sleeve pattern from Etsy and they are soooo pretty! I plan to make the view B top only want to make it in a dress like you did for Mothers Day . When you made yours did you just extend the bottom part for the skirt portion from the waist down into whatever design you wanted or did you just add the sleeves to a dress pattern you have? I just love that blue one and you look so pretty in it! I will need to do a FBA but no problems with that but I want the skirt part to be slightly flared-I’m a pear shape and don’t wear straight skirts or sheath dresses anymore 🫤 anyway was just wondering which you did- love your channel and all the ‘tidbits’ you share 😉 Happy Sewing!!! Virginia in Arkansas P.S. still praying !!🙏🏻
I am very interested in the good fit even though you measured from cut lines instead of seam lines on your pattern. Does it work that way for you all the time?
Well, I’m not a super detailed person, so yes, I did just measure from the cut lines. I always use a 1/2” seam allowance, and when I’m using a stretchy fabric, it doesn’t seem to matter if I’m precise. But, thanks for the reminder. It would be better to add in the seam allowance when trying to decide on size. 👍🏻
Great videos ladies! Lol does that work? Demanding that people don’t look at your side view? Because if it goes, I’m gonna use that! I’m ok til I see the side 😮🥴
Hi! Watch you all the time, but first time commenting. I love all three dresses, if you shorten the blue dress you will like it a lot better, that was the only problem that I could see. I watched your bra video and love it, whenever I have purchased a rtw wireless the girls will not stay in place and they try to slide down and under the band, your bra seemed to give you support, any suggestions?
Hi Ann, thanks! I think I will take your advice and shorten that dress! 💙 My advice on the bra is to just make the first one as a trial and then start making changes. Yes, it is supportive. And the pattern I used had a way of making it even more supportive, I didn’t even try that. Let me know if you make it. The more I wear them, the comfier they get! I won’t go back. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I LOVE this pattern on you! I liked all the dresses, tho I think the first one is a bit long for your body type. Maybe you could shorten it? Also, you have a very nice side view…nice and normal. Don’t we all want the tummy of an 18 year old? Lol 😆 lol But, REALITY is actually quite comforting, normal, and approachable. Your body is Perfect. I have one that matches your measurements…I’m 59 and I love mine. 😊
Aw…thanks. You know, I needed that. I agree with you and I need to remember that more often. I loved being young, but I actually love this time in my life way more!! I think I’ll print your comment and put it where I can see it!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi beautiful awesome work 💛❤💞💝❤💜💝💜💝💜❤💜💖❤💜
I never would have picked this pattern but with your hacks it is very attractive. Thanks for sharing your fittings.
Thanks Mary!! 🥰🥰🥰
Love you most when you “hack away”. It’s a very cute dress and the evolution of these 3 demonstrate that fit and styling for your particular body makes an ok dress perfect! Yes! The pattern is only a suggestion. Thanks again.
Thanks Barbara!! 🥰🥰🥰
This is such a cute dress love it. I bet it would be a perfect pattern to hack in to a top also.
Hi Pamela, what a great idea!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your videos are always a delight. Great work on the dresses .I like them all on you.
Thank you Sandra! 💙💙💙
Love all three dresses excellent!
Definitely love the look of the third dress.. the fabric is awesome too 😊
FUN! FUN! FUN!!!!!
You look fabulous. Love the dress on you. So happy to see you and hubby on your date night.😃
Thank you for another super video. ❤️
Thank you so much Margaret! ❤️❤️❤️
I love your explication of adjustment of size. You solved my problem for my armhole! Thank you so much.
Yay!!! I’m so happy to hear that! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
All dresses really pretty. We all have a tendency to be hyper critical of ourselves. Enjoy them all ❤❤
I loved all of them, especially the last one.♥️
Thank you Resa💙💙💙
Super cute video! I'm glad you kept working on it until you created a dress you like. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Melanie!! 💙💙💙

Fun Thanks for all the comparisons!
Great hack. I do love the first version too. 🙌💜💙❤️
Thanks Sarah! I liked it more after seeing it on video. I guess it grew on me! 💙💙💙
Great job on your hacks.
Hi Stephanie! Wow 3 dresses! Your amazing how you hacked that dress! I love the ruching on both sides too! Great idea!
Such cute dresses! Yes I really like your date nite dress! Cute bra too! You are such a great seamstress! Great ideas you come up with. I too had to make my armholes smaller when I cut the larger size dress pattern Vogue V1748.
Hi Debi, it really made all the difference!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The dresses are all beautiful. Glad you and hubby had a great date.
Thanks for this one. Seeing the dress on a similar body to mine helps. Seeing how you hacked is also great.
Thanks Sue! 💙💙💙
All your dresses are lovely!

Very nice! My favorite is the blue one blue. 🙂
Thanks Jeannie! 💙💙💙

We must do it again sometime. Maybe I need to pack up my sewing machine and fly west!!!
Your final dress is cute 😍 off to check out Trishs dress now....
Thanks Alison! 💙💙💙
I'm in Northern Cali too! Mendocino county
Oh my gosh!! Hello Cali Sister!! How are you doing with all this weather? Hope all is well!
I just found your channel, love the dresses and your fabulous personality😊
Great video Stephanie! BTW, remember to subtract seam allowances when measuring your pattern pieces. You and Hubby make a great Couple!😀😀
Hi Dara, great point!! I don’t know why I didn’t think about that!! Hugs 💙💙💙
I came over from Pinky's Farm! I'll be back! I love your dress! The colab was fun!

Hi Adrienne, you’re welcome. After all this sewing, I see my measurements more as “math” than anything else. Lol. 🫣😂
