    I'd love to know: How do you show kindness to yourself when difficult thoughts and/or feelings are present?

      I've learned that it's better to acknowledge and feel difficult feelings and thoughts, let them come and go, and depending on what it is, I like to listen to music, spend time with my dog, or do something grounding like yoga, or walking through nature.

      I write down the thoughts one by one I ask myself if it is true what evidence there is supporting that thought to be true normally it's a lie so I decide to write a real truthful beautiful loving kind thoughts on other side paper stick it up with all kind thoughts facing me look in mirror everytime negative thoughts come up repeat lovingly kind thoughts out loud feeling them to be truly said in my mind head soul fills me with happiness all that time effort energy I took to give myself better thoughts words because I deserve them

    This may seem odd but i like the distance you keep from the camera, it gives a sense of being taken care of but not invaded in personal space. Safety, basically. Love this format of ASMR, almost like a mindfulness meditation, really refreshing.

    Hi, I just wanted to say I really like the concept of your page. I’ve used ASMR to self-soothe but honestly have never really used it as a form of therapy. I feel that your videos are almost like a unique form of therapy in the way they’re designed and intended to be. I’m not sure what your educational background is but you seem to be skilled as a therapist and informed on emotional processing. I think you should keep this up! I am so happy to see your post today. Once again, I was transcended to a place of surrender. It feels so amazing. Once I let go and focus inward, I realize how much emotional weight I often carry around. I was taught to ignore my emotions, so you can imagine what a liberating experience this is for me. Letting go creates a mental and physical change. It’s an incredible relief. I really like what you said about negative emotions. That if you don’t acknowledge them, they fester. I enjoyed this so much that I listened to it twice. As always, thanks for generously sharing your talents and experience in emotional awareness. I love this channel so much. 😊❤️

    I would have to say it's through my creative abilities. As an artist, and a model railroad hobbyist, I use that time to focus on building history, whether it's on a canvas, or drawing my storyboards for my book, or building a functional model on plywood. In any case, it's using the time that would be otherwise focussed on painful events of the past, and redirect it into something positive.
    Trouble is always around, and plentiful. Why borrow it?

    It's easier to allow "difficult" thoughts e.g. not take negative thoughts to seriously than it is to allow difficult feelings...I can reason my way out of a bad thought, but I struggle to do the same with negative feelings...

    • @michaelmorgan7893
      @michaelmorgan7893 11 месяцев назад +1

      With me, it helps not to let a bad thought linger so long in your head, that it takes up free rent.

    • @ASMR-healing
      @ASMR-healing  11 месяцев назад +1

      This is very challenging for me too, because feelings can be so powerful. I feel like a giant wave is crashing over me. Two things help me a lot: it helps me to remember that the feeling is not "me" -- it's something I am experiencing. And it helps me to remember that feelings have a lifecycle. They appear, they grow, they reach a peak, and then they slowly fade away. All feelings have this same lifecycle. We can breathe and relax our body and allow the feeling to go through its lifecycle without "feeding" it (this gets easier with practice). Also, there are usually some thoughts connected to the feeling. Even if we can see that they are not logical, they can still have an emotional power, and we still might emotionally believe the thoughts. So we have to be skeptical of all of our thoughts, because they are not us, they are a creation of our mental mind.

    • @polgara555
      @polgara555 11 месяцев назад +2

      Sometimes it's hard to know if the feelings appeared because of my thoughts or if it's the other way around.

    I am watching this preparing for a challenging day supporting my friend who is in an abusive relationship. She broke up with him after lots of crying and finally accepting she was in an abusive relationship and yesterday whilst arranging to go shopping with her she told me she has got back with him. I am going to find it very difficult supporting her choosing to continue to be abused by him or being sympathetic next time she moans about how badly he treats her so will feel like a bad friend but after escaping an abusive relationship myself it can be very triggering.

    • @ASMR-healing
      @ASMR-healing  10 месяцев назад +2

      That sounds really challenging. It’s good to remember that people are on their own journeys, and we can’t control their choices or the consequences of their actions. That doesn’t mean you have to stick around and see her go through it. But it may help you to remember to have compassion for her, even when it’s very triggering. You have to choose what’s best for you, just as she is trying to do for herself. Above all, I hope you can be kind to yourself and find ways to process your feelings about the situation. You sound like a very good and caring friend!
