    Great video. I built my first computer right before the SATA standard so this brings me back. I am getting into early 2000s computers again for nostalgia so this is good to know. Seems my devices mostly support Ultra ATA.

    I have a 2.5 inch hdd with 47pins n the motherboard have ide pins too,how do I connect them as the SATA cable do not fit in the HDD??
    Please??

      So you essentially have 48 pins, however one is missing for keying. On one side four pins are for jumpers, so there should be a small space between those pins and the other pins. On the other side the four extra pins are power pins. Thus you need to get a laptop to motherboard cable with power.

      New A+ exam being released this month. Looks like they finally got rid of it.

    I heard that they got rid of the terms master/slave to distance it from pre Civil War era. Of course since it pretty obsolete, that move is kind of meaningless.

      Still dumb nonetheless.

    • @itfreetraining
      @itfreetraining  2 года назад

      Who knows that reason. In the old day the master and slave drive were not independent. Thus, it was important which storage you use as a master drive. But when that all changed maybe that is the reason they decided to call it drive 0 and drive 1.
