I loved the colour theroy section. It tought me more in a couple of paragraphs than what I knew in over 15 years of painting. I'm looking at my colour wheel alot more differently now.
I am very tempted to read it again and again, and try out the techniques, not at least free hand that I always get to big.
I mined my painting knowledge from grumpy old grognards and a shit load of trial n error, this book looks great for the younglings
Excellent flick through of what looks like a really good book. Should sit nicely alongside something like Armies, Legions and Hordes from Dave Taylor for inspiration and tips for getting armies painted. Every hobby needs books like these that you can hand to a new hobbyist to start their journey but that people can come back to over the years for wee tips
Gerry a cracking review of a miniature painting book by a miniature painter 👍. I’ve added it too my Christmas list
Good to see this type of thing still coming out there. Thanks for the review as well!
Thank you very much for such a wonderful review!!!
@Gerry mcCabe there is no need! Some names are quite complicated (mine included, which also causes me sometimes troubles in my homeland)
I've been thinking of getting my nephew into the hobby this would making a cracking Christmas present :O
Looks really good, well organized & illustrated
Very timely, helpful video! I just put in my order for a copy.
This is interesting. They used to have a book about painting tanks/vehicles, etc but haven’t seen it in stock. I find Ammo has a lot of very easy to follow books that are reasonably priced. Quite like them in my collection
@Gerry mcCabe I’m assuming “corker” is a good thing? Haha. I’ve been trolling their website for over a year and it’s never been back in stock. Something I wanted to have in my collection
@@mattcappelli5822 if you are in the UK Emodels have it in stock :)
We also need a Gerry Can on this for the young folk who don't know how to use a book! XD
Another excellent, thoughtful review. Though why people hate painting horses, I don’t know.
In my experience the horses like it even less.
Great video, Gerry! It's a shame no one did some focus on 6mm, which is such a prevalent scale as well!
There is a short section explaining how to approach different scales including 10mm or smaller.
@Gerry mcCabe You cheeky bastard :D! You know I won't - I'll paint my Epic miniatures and then go into the discord just to tease :)
@@heresy87 ah, nice!
