My first dunk was sophomore year of high school too just under 6'2 at the time, I'm 6'3 now and dunking has been easy and a regular part of the game since I was a teenager. When I looked up the numbers for how many dunks there's been in the WNBA i was astounded at how low it was, literally 13 I think and from 4 or 5 different people in the whole history of the league. I looked at the highlights too and I have to tell you they were almost all bullshit dunks that were one arm stretched out and barely making it. I mean there is a serious problem and for them to just act like there isn't is a joke. Imagine watching volleyball where spikes was something that simply never happened because the people couldn't jump up high enough to hit it. That's essentially what this league is where no one is ever explosive at all and it looks ridiculous. Honestly look at these highlights, their hands are under the freaking backboard shooting the ball

The issue is mute until demand for WNBA increases. You can’t ask for more money when no one wants to watch. It’s simple economics. It’s completely different than for example equal pay for women’s tennis. The viewership for women’s tennis is just as high as men’s so they can both be rewarded the same amount. WNBA can’t even afford to have a decent sized season. If they campaigned for more money the league would shutdown.

Part of what she says I agree with. NBA players from the 70s and such didn't get paid as much and didn't have the luxuries current players to. However, to change that you need to build a brand/image and bring in money, which the WNBA isn't doing. Rather than just saying "pay us more", build up your brand the way the NBA did.

It’s completely different than for example equal pay for women’s tennis. The viewership for women’s tennis is just as high as men’s so they can both be rewarded the same amount. WNBA can’t even afford to have a decent sized season. If they campaigned for more money the league would shutdown.
